Space NK Tuberoli, Champaca, Jasamber & Santalrosa ~ new perfumes

Posted by Robin on 12 October 2008 25 Comments

Space NK Tuberoli perfumeSpace NK is celebrating their 15th anniversary with the relaunch of their 1999 Laughter fragrance and the introduction of four new scents inspired by founder Nicky Kinnaird's travels: Tuberoli, Champaca, Jasamber and Santalrosa.

Tuberoli (shown) ~ "is reminiscent of a romantic weekend in Rome. This ultra-feminine fragrance is unabashedly luxurious. Bold white floral make an entrance, while honeysuckle and jasmine wink behind. Blackcurrant and peach trail in its wake."

Champaca ~ "Inspired by the breathtaking majesty and exoticism of the Rajasthan, Champaca is deliciously earthy and sensual. Feminine floral are sprinkled with cardamom and other spices, before settling onto a blanket of woods, myrrh, vanilla musk and amber crystals."

Jasamber ~ "a captivating fragrance, conjuring you the splendour of the Northern Lights witnessed from a tiny village in the Polar Circle. Crisp citrus and green notes radiate around jasmine, osmanthus and vert de lilas. Then amber, sandalwood and precious woods are chilled by frozen musks."

Santalrosa ~ "Memories of a visit to a Japanese Imperial Summer Palace nestled in the foothills of Mount Fuji inspired this delicate scent. Languid notes of rose, lily of the valley and jasmine linger in the air, fall softly on cedar and sandalwood, then sink into heliotrope, vanilla and musk."

Space NK Tuberoli, Champaca, Jasamber and Santalrosa are available in 15 and 50 ml Eau de Toilette and in matching body products. (all quotes via spacenk.co.uk, additional information via wwd)

“Blanket of wood” raises a splinter of doubt.

How come everything is supposed to be reminiscent of a romantic weekend in Rome or Paris but never a romantic weekend in Bratislava or Kraków?

Tuberoli seems to be pushing my new no-eye-rolling policy. “Frozen musks” is not helping either.

However, even if none of these grab my attention, I love 15ml bottles. They make me happy.

Oh, I don't know – a tiny village in the Polar Circle isn't exactly the traditional romantic getaway…

I hate those names. Don't even want to try the scents.

Doubt not, it's breathtakingly inspired. The languid florals (honeysuckle winking boldly at jasmine) will captivate your splinter as they sink into the heliotrope,

I sniffed them briefly last week, and quite liked the Santalrosa and the Jasamber. They're not groundbreaking, but they seemed attractive and wearable. The 50ml bottles were lovely – very classy and nicely compact.

It's all PR, isn't it. Bratislava & Kraków don't have that reputation, even if they ought to.

omg I read that as “sphincter of doubt” off to get my eyes checked

wow we are definitely reading too many molten-woods press releases! the names are cutesy. I want to like champaca but it's probably too sweet.

LOL! The names are cutesy, and for some reason I can't stop trying to come up with a matching combo name for Champaca. It bugs me that it doesn't match the others.

I actually dislike the word Champaca too. I find it unpleasant to the ear. LOL! *runs away*
