Ellie D has launched Ellie Nuit, a follow up to their debut fragrance, Ellie. Ellie Nuit is "a seductive scent that can be worn alone or layered with ladylike Ellie for a soft, alluring effect":
Anticipating something smoky and vampy, we were startled by the intensely green opening, spiked with a mysterious shot of sap like sweetness. And then we were surprised again, by violets showing up in all their delicate glory. Exactly what sort of night was this going to be? Happily it turns out to be an enchanting one...
Like Ellie, Ellie Nuit was developed by perfumer Michel Roudnitska. The notes feature sandalwood, cashmere wood, coriander seeds, violet, rose, fig, musk, blackcurrant and oak moss.
Ellie Nuit by Ellie D is available in 15 ml Parfum de Toilette, and can be found now at Luckyscent ($180). (first quote via elliedperfume, second quote via luckyscent) Update: see a review of Ellie Nuit.
Without passing any judgement on the name Ellie (which is actually very pretty), I propose that a perfume called “Ellie” cannot possibly be seductive or alluring. It's a gingham-dress-and-bonnet kind of name for a scent. Maybe Lizzy Bennet–if she had been nicknamed Ellie and not Lizzy–could have worn a perfume by that name.
“Ellie Nuit” is even worse.
Now this one may be a good release! I plan to try it.
Hugs!
Would love to try it!
I think it is named after the founder's grandmother — so not chosen to be sexy I guess!
I hope to try it soon — I really liked the first Ellie.
I was with you right up until the “15 ml . . . $180” part.
I do wish they'd do EdTs or EdPs — the $180 is serious business!
So was I, LOL! It sounds lovely, but pretty steep for my wallet.
Ellie is sooo pretty though — really do hope her next step is a lighter concentration at a better price.
This sounds promising for a floral woodsy girl like me. But what does coriander smell like? I don't care for cardamon, which leaves me out of a lot of the typically *sexy* scents.
Off topic I want to order Fifi from Luckysent. It sounds like I'd like it and I adore the bottle. It has coriander in it. They don't have samples. What do you think?
Joy,
Becca
Gosh, it is hard to explain what a spice smells like. It is sort of lemony, but that doesn't tell the whole story. You need to open one of the jars at the grocery store 🙂
I think you can get a sample of Fifi from Beautyhabit!
