Tauer Perfumes Incense rose ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 7 February 2008 22 Comments

Tauer Perfumes Incense rose fragranceComing in late March from Tauer Perfumes, Incense rosé:

Incense rosé is a mysterious fragrance built around smoking frankincense, with rose and citrus notes, and dark balsamic resins.

First, you might find a few rose petals, from a dark and spicy rose. The natural bergamot and Clementine essential oil, together with just a hint of cardamom play there with the natural rose absolute from Bulgaria.

The fragrance is lifted by orris notes, rendering it vibrant and clear. At the same time it is dark and rich, with castor and woody notes playing on the skin.

It is the Texan cedar wood, vetiver and the balsamic, dark and mysterious notes of myrrh and patchouli that are all dancing with the incense. This natural frankincense, CO2 extracted Boswellia serrata, is softened by balsamic labdanum and ambrein.

The notes feature clementine, bergamot, rose, castor, orris, frankincense, cedar wood, myrrh, patchouli, vetiver, labdanum and ambrein.

Tauer Perfumes Incense rosé will be available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum. The arabesque on the bottle was designed by artist by Dezsö Bödi. (via tauerperfumes)

Other recent releases from Tauer: Reverie au jardin, Incense extreme.

Update: see a review of Tauer Perfumers Incense rosé.

Incense and rose…two of my favorite notes ever in one lovely bottle!

I'm thinking about buying this unsniffed, which I (almost) never do.

Well, if you hate it, it'll be very swappable I should think!

This is a joyous incense with an intense burst of juicy mandarin (clementine, to be exact, going by the info by Tauer) in the beginning: it's very unusual as incense fragrances go (a comparable direction would be Etro's lemony Shaal Nur in concept). It's quite lovable., as I had posted in my review.

Myself I think I prefer by an inch his Incense Extreme though, but I do love somber incenses.

It is an amazing year! The Mark Buxton incense for Biehl is good too.

Thanks for the review, can't wait to sniff, although rose and I are not the best of friends, it might work with all the incense going on. I loved Incense Extreme, and I hear this one is even more popular (but maybe not for me, will have to wait and see).

It's gorgeous. Like seeing something, a sunrise over the river with mists rising, ducks swimming straight into the mist, and storks clattering their beaks to greet the new day, or a starry sky out in the complete calm of a beautiful countryside, a flock of birds suddenly wheeling and creating a fascinating pattern against the sky, and knowing that selfsame instant that you'll never, ever forget this moment. It's a celebration.

I like clementines and I love Tauer's simple bottles. I was never interested in Switzerland, but now I find more and more nice things coming from this country (their great chocolate for example :-))).
Thanks for a nice review. I must try it……

Thanks for that tidbit of info, R. I read somewhere some time ago that Biehl was a disappointment overall, but I am truly loving that line. Everything about it is just exquisite, and — relatively — sanely priced. There's a clarity and originality about them that is remarkable. Is anyone else equally impressed?

I wouldn't say I was uniformly impressed. Too many of them struck me as good but not quite great. Still, worth trying, and agree on the prices!

R., I think it could be that I haven't been exposed to enough really great scents, as you and many of the other blogmistresses and posters here have, to be able to tell the goods from the greats. My education continues. . .and I'm not complaining!

No, truly, you must learn to trust your own judgment! Not everyone has the same opinions or tastes.

Wow – I just tried Incense Extreme, and if the incense in this is as good (and being by Andy Tauer, I am sure it is!) I will be a goner for this one too.

Glad you loved IE! I have a feeling Incense rose is going to be a much deeper scent, looking forward to trying it.
