Jil Sander has launched a new duo of fragrances, Scent 79 Woman and Scent 79 Man. The scents are modern interpretations of the original Jil Sander fragrances, Jil Sander Pure Woman, launched in 1979, and Jil Sander Pure Man, which followed in 1981. Like their earlier counterparts, the new fragrances celebrate Sander's elegant minimalist style.
Jil Sander Scent 79 Woman (shown) was developed by perfumer Evelyne Boulanger. The amber floral chypre fragrance includes notes of cranberry, peach leaves, May rose, jasmine, iris, soft leather, caramelized wood, musk and vetiver.
Jil Sander Scent 79 Man was developed by perfumer Marc Buxton, and retains the pure, simple modernity of Jil Sander Pure Man. The notes include angelica, clary sage, frankincense, jasmine, violet, orris, black leather, sandalwood and vetiver.
Jil Sander Scent 79 Woman and Man are available in 125 ml Eau de Parfum. (via cosmoty.de)
The original fragrance was actually called “Woman Pure” (followed by Woman II, III, et al). I found some info on a German website which describes Scent 79 as “sentimentally revamped” and enriched by modern nuances. More specifically: a lush, refined amber-floral composition in the chypre category. Fresh cranberries and velvet peach leaves provide a sunny opening that develops into a feminine, elegant bouquet of gentle rose, jasmine and iris. The sensuous base of this luxury fragrance combines soft, white leather with a mix of carmelised wood and powdery musk notes.
Thanks! Have you tried the new one?
