Solange Azagury-Partridge has launched her second fragrance, Cosmic:
Like the jeweller's first fragrance [see Stoned], Cosmic was developed with the help of perfumer Lyn Harris [of Miller Harris]. The modern chypre combines a sweet candy accord with top notes of bergamot, aldehydes and galbanum, a heart of rose, jasmine absolute and iris absolute, and a dry-down of patchouli, vetiver, labdanum absolute, opoponax, myrrh and vanilla.
As her Stoned fragrance contained diamond dust, Cosmic includes "specially ground" meteorites to "create a fine stardust for the fragrance". Solange Azagury-Partridge Cosmic is available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum; priced at £145. (first quote via cosmeticsinternational, second via solangeazagurypartridge)
Do not care about scent. Feel like I'm reading those notes repeatedly these days. WANT BOTTLE.
That is a very cool bottle!
Gaah, the bottle looks so…Soviet 🙂
Ha, so it does!
Secretly I loved Stoned, despite the daft name and the red bottle which didn't appeal to me at all. But the price was just too silly. I thought I would wait till she started selling refills like Jalaine, but it doesn't look like that's happening. Stoned wasn't typical of Lyn Harris, so I have high hopes for this one. But the price is, again, nuts. The bottle had better be stunning.
Their shops are within a few hundred meters of each other, in Notting Hill Gate. Not surprising they should collaborate. I think I will refrain from saying what I think of those two women.
Sorry – but this sounds like the worst of two worlds to me – expensive, tricksy “prestige” scents (meteorites?!?!) and a “sweet candy accord” (Paris Hilton, anyone?). I do not want to smell like a teenager, nor do I need weird particles in my scent. And my pefume habit is expensive enough, thank you, without ridiculous prices. That said – I hope I don't end up smelling it somewhere and loving it….
I think Stoned has a fair number of fans. It wasn't “my thing”, and just as well since it is, as you say, pricey!
Ah, didn't know that. And thanks for practicing restraint 🙂
It doesn't sound tempting to me either, luckily I suppose as I can't afford it anyway.
LOL!
SA-P's shop used to be launderette (I lived close to there for 16 years), but, you know, who needs a place to wash one's clothes if one doesn't have a washing machine when one can have a jewellery shop full of exorbitantly priced stuff instead, eh? Much more useful. And you can't even see those 'trinkets', because the window,if you can call it that, is all black. You have to ring a bell to be admitted. Bah!
Sorry, I promise I won't say any more.
LOL — I knew you couldn't resist! But black windows & must ring a bell: not for me.
Hm. Marketing Rule #6: in an ultra-competitive market, unique product features give you a positioning advantage. Voila! Meteorite dust! I applaud her for every 145-pound bottle she sells.
LOL — it's pretty silly, isn't it?
Comic- I'm a bit gobsmacked at this perfume. I
didn't think it would be nearly as unique as it proclaims, but it's actually rather special.
The smell is quite unnerving and puts me in mind of the original Dioressence.
I think it's one to love or hate, for me it's l o v e.
I still haven't tried it, and may never manage to — not carried anywhere near me. Glad to hear it's interesting!
