Oscar de la Renta has launched Oscar Red Satin, a limited edition fragrance for women:
Oscar Red Satin is inspired by Oscar de la Renta's couture designs: both glamorous and sensual. The scent is based on the classic Oscar scent but with a modern oriental twist.
The fragrance notes feature bergamot, mandarin, rose, orange blossom, clear jasmine, orris, patchouli and vanilla.
Oscar de la Renta Oscar Red Satin is $65 for 100 ml Eau de Parfum, and can be found at Nordstrom.
I've got one major beef that puts me off the majority of ODR scents – the ones that come in that shape bottle, anyway – they are NOT small hand friendly. I think I had Latin Light or Tropical Something at one point, and it was a definite two-hander, and still clunky at that. It irritated me so much I had to give it away.
You could let somebody spray it onto you..
I don't know Oscar de la Renta's fragrances that well, but I did like 'So De La Renta'. Did not buy it but that was because another fragrance had my preference at the time. I will definitely give This new one a try if I can find it here.
About the form and shape of bottles: if my ultimate favorite scent was in a very clumsy 1+ pound bottle, then I would become very inventive. I mean those stars of Th. M. also feel odd and clumsy and I was just looking at my beloved collection, sprayed some 'Le Feu d'Issey Light' on my hand and knew immediately why bought it: it is still completely different en very superduperdelicious for both men and women!! And yes the bottle is clumsy too but it's also nice some fire under the ice.
Funny detail: on osmoz.fr the ingredients of Le Feu and Le Feu Light are exactly the same.
Zippy, I have small hands too. I mostly hate short rectangular bottles for that reason — I always end up spraying in my face 🙂
It is a shame Le Feu was discontinued — it is on my “wish they'd bring it back” list 🙁
Reminds me of the Woody Allen quote, “How can I believe in God when just last week I got my tongue caught in the roller of an electric typewriter?”
And what's worse is when the tiny spray opening is the same colour as the surrounding nozzle. That's when one sprays one's eye by mistake! Bottles that have a very thin narrow base are ungainly and constantly tip over. (I hesitate to name names.)Aren't these designs tested in the real world?
LOL — I'd never heard that one, thanks!
Yep, I've done that too! All bottles should be sent to me first for approval, LOL…
