Scent Systems Jasmine, Rose, Wild Violet, Tuberose & Oeillet ~ new fragrances

Scent Systems Jasmine perfume

UK-based Scent Systems has launched a new range of natural perfumes developed by perfumer George Dodd. The line debuts with a collection of 5 floral fragrances, all in Parfum (extrait) concentration:

Jasmine (shown) ~ "Our jasmine perfume is of character and strength. If you are fated to respond to the erotic siren call of jasmine; then our entirely natural jasmine perfume will electrify you." Notes include heather, pineapple, verveine, basil, jasmine, natural aldehydes, broom, lavender, rose, orange flower, vanilla, vetivert, plant musk and lovage.

Rose ~ "Have you ever wandered through an oriental rose garden at night, inhaling the intoxicatingly beautiful scent of the flowers? If not, then you should add this to your list of things to do." Notes include neroli, bitter orange, petitgrain, rose absolute from Grasse (Rose de Mai), Morocco, India and Turkey, heather absolute, vetivert, vanilla absolute and plant musk.

Wild Violet ~ "This wild violet perfume is highly unusual. The shimmering, almost innocent delicacy of the floral notes juxtaposes a simmering but submerged sensuality." The notes include Indian flowers, rose, orris fractions, champaca absolute, Scottish myrica, Mysore sandalwood and plant musk.

Tuberose ~ "In perfume studios, the name tuberose is synonymous with an unbelievably seductive and voluptuous flower scent that sets your head spinning. It is easy to understand why in Malaysia this flower is called ‘Mistress of the Night’." Notes include coriander, cistus, natural aldehydes, tuberose absolute, heliotrope, rose, karo karounde, Tiare lily, carnation, champaca, vanilla, honey and plant musk.

Oeillet (Carnation) ~ "Many have never come across such a powerful spicy-floral theme and thus are ignorant of the powers of such flower scents can have. We can still learn important perfume lessons from the 4th century Indian text – the Kama Sutra – where carnation scent played a key role in erotic sexual arousal." The notes feature galbanum, clary sage, bergamot, Indian carnation absolute, cistus, basmati flower, heliotrope, vanilla. patchouli and plant musk. Update: see a brief review of Scent Systems Oeillet.

The Scent Systems fragrances are £229.00 each for 17 ml. A sample set of all five perfumes is available for £34.00; for more information visit the scent-systems website. If you are ordering outside the European Community, the VAT (17.5%) will be automatically deducted.

All I have to say is OUCH. Seriously? You can buy a whole ounce of Guerlain parfum for about £160.

All natural scents are most always hugely expensive — you're paying for the pure flower extracts, etc. These prices are high, but they didn't surprise me 🙂
