“Women who dress for men”. I kind of like it. 🙂 I humbly predict a bit of a feminist uproar though.

This is from a man who, about his previous fragrance, declared in an ad that this (“Bill Blass”) is a fragrance for “a woman who wears perfume when she's alone, hopefully mine.” I dunno … the scentiment hasn't changed, it seems, just couched a different way.

I consider myself a feminist, but I just found it very funny….especially given it is a white floral. White florals worn by women, it seems to me, probably appeal to other women way more than men. Am I crazy?

LOL at “hopefully mine” — that makes sense 🙂

No, I agree with this. I am not partial to white florals myself, and where the heck are these men who love them? I guess, judging by the list of most popular scents, if you are not wearing Kai, or Child, then you won't be attracting any white floral-loving men!

By the way, the best Blass fragrance was Nude. 🙂

“What's that fragrance from Bill Blass?”
    “The Fragrance From Bill Blass.”
“Yes. What's the name of it?”
“It's the Fragrance From Bill Blass.”
“Yes, I know, but what's it called? Bill Blass?”
“No, it's the Fragrance From Bill Blass.”
“I'm not stupid, I'm asking you the name—”

    LOL, perfect!

Must add my own rant: as someone who spends a fair amount of time looking for fragrance information online, I am always astounded at how little care companies give to creating a Google-friendly name. Burberry London is the same…you just get too much garbage & noise when you're searching for it.

LOL at the Kai & Child, so true!

YES!!! You take your research far more seriously than I do… but frequently it's extra-hard if the fragrance is just named whatever the company name is. Even adding the word “fragrance” in there just gets you more company facts. I get that in some ways it's probably easier just using your company name … hey, so how about the TWO Burberrys? The original one from whenever and Burberry London? It took me six months to figure that out. Duh.

They seem to assume that consumers a) get their fragrance info from fashion mags and then b) buy scents in brick n mortar department stores. It is soooo behind the times. If your scent name can't capture the top 10 spots on Google without using quotation marks, it isn't a good name.

Burberry London is doubly annoying since they not only used a name that brought up everything from dog collars to raincoats, but then they went and used it again…so you can't tell which Burberry London is which. VERY dumb, IMHO. Other dumb names Google-wise: Dolce & Gabbana The One, Lolita Lempicka L (and all the stupid letter scents, for that matter, which are also stupid because everyone is doing it. Valentino V, Scherrer S, Ferragamo F, geez). Oh dear, I'm on a rant. Must need more chocolate 🙂

If I googled for “Bill Blass” and “Nude”, what will I get … I wonder … ?

I loved the original eponymous scent. It was a soft, green floral scent. Never cared for Nude, though. I'm actually rather hopeful about this new release.

Had to try it myself, and you're right — went up to page 6 then gave up on finding anything exciting, LOL…

All ranting about the name aside, it could actually turn out to be very nice. I like a white floral with green notes. Never tried the original BB — will have to check to see if it is still made.

    The bottle seems nice.

    🙂

Other than that my only thought was “What a wonderful idea – a white floral. So innovative.”

    Happy New Year.

Happy New Year to you too! Yep, great bottle, not a particularly innovative-sounding scent, although I'll certainly give it a try when it comes out.
