Cradle of Light & Revelation ~ new fragrances from CB I Hate Perfume

Posted by Robin on 21 November 2006 15 Comments

CB I Hate Perfume Cradle of Light perfume

CB I Hate Perfume has launched two new fragrances, Cradle of Light and Revelation:

Cradle of Light is a glorious blend of pure white flower absolutes: Moroccan, Indian, Egyptian and Tunisian Jasmine Grandiflorum, Indian Night Blooming Jasmine, Jonquil, Narcissus, Tuberose and White Lotus. The bouquet is set against a green background of Sumac, Tomato and Violet Leaves with a hint of Galbanum and grounded in a base of Sandalwoods and CBMUSK.

Revelation captures the scent of a Wild Fig Tree. The prime note is that of Fig Leaves & Twigs blended with Honey and a touch of Spice. The perfume is based on a rich warm blend of Cedarwood, Cypress Wood, Amber & Labdanum.

This sounds too good to be true.

Looking forward to hear some hands on review!

Which, the Cradle of Light? Actually don't have a sample of that one. It does sound fabulous though!

I'm still annoyed that he discontinued his reasonably priced water-perfume samples. Doesn't mean I won't visit the store if I ever get to NYC, but does mean I won't be trying buying anymore online.

So I go over to his website, go I, with every intention of ordering a sample, and what do I discover? $50.00 for 2 ml., $250.00 for 15 ml. Welcome to JAR-land. Not that I might not do it if I REALLY loved it, but I feel that I would need to sample before I bought a sample, if you know what I mean. . .

Really? I never even knew he used to have water perfume samples….don't know how I missed that. I like the water formula much, much better, although I find that I apply a good deal more than with an oil so it would have to be a very large sample.

Wow — I saw that it was expensive, but the $50 for 2 ml didn't register. That really is JAR-land, although given the difference in price between this & his others, I'm guessing it is because of the very expensive floral absolutes. Whereas in JAR-land, I think it is perhaps just expensive for the sake of being expensive, possibly. But yes, this is one to try in the shop first!

Oh, I am sure you are right about CB (don't know about JAR). Didn't mean to blame him. And I'm also sure the absolutes last a long time. But I am still reeling from the thought of a $50.00 sample. It would be nice if he could offer a smaller amount (even .5 ml.) for less–but perhaps that's just not cost effective.

LOL…and I didn't necessarily mean to defend the price, I'm just guessing!

Light sounds amazing, it really does. And you know I think CB is the bomb. But I am wondering how much he'll sell at that price…

It was right when his store opened — I bought several samples for only a few dollars each

Well, if it were *me*, and of course it isn't, I wouldn't care…it would be nice to have one perfume made of perfect ingredients no matter the cost.

Ah, then I probably missed it altogether. Wonder if he sells more perfume in water or oil?

I bought Revelation – it is fabulous. It smells so warm (perfect for winter!) and rich. If I was to use a color to describe it – glowing amber. And it lasts beautifully – I've still smelled it at the end of the day. It's one of those perfect fragrances – you'll never get tired of it.
