More on the recently launched Chypre Rouge fragrance by Serge Lutens: it "was inspired by Serge Lutens’s memories of fall in his native Vendée region of western France", and notes include thyme, pine needles, honey, beeswax, jasmine, fruit gums, patchouli, moss, amber, musks and vanilla. (via osmoz)
Chypre Rouge was created by perfumer Christopher Sheldrake. It is available now in France, and should be at US retailers by the end of August.
Update: see a review of Serge Lutens Chypre Rouge.
Sounds absolutely lovely. Leave it to Serge to warm up a chypre.
Chypres are the one category of fragrance that I think reflect my personality best, yet I can't wear them. The oakmoss goes all sour on me. Maybe this one will be my redemption…? I want so BADLY to be a chypre girl. *wrings hands*
Do try it, K, it is not the dry sort of chypre in which the oakmoss predominates. Not my cup of tea, actually, but it might be yours!
