This year's Sense of Smell Day, sponsored by the Sense of Smell Institute, will be on Saturday, April 29th:
Participating museums and science centers feature a variety of hands-on, interactive activities including, but not limited to: demonstrations of how the sense of smell functions in animals and humans; the link between our senses of taste and smell; how smells can alert us to danger, enhance our alertness, improve our moods and much more. There are also many creative and fragrant craft activities and entertainment in the form of puppet shows, treasure hunts, storytelling, musicians and contests.
Participating museums for 2006 are: Arizona Science Center, Boston Children's Museum, Brooklyn Children's Museum, Discovery Place in Charlotte, NC, Fernbank Science Center in Atlanta, Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley, Lied Discovery Children's Museum in Las Vegas, Milton J Rubenstein Museum of Science & Technology in Syracuse, Maryland Science Center in Baltimore, Minnesota Children's Museum in St. Paul, New York Hall of Science in Flushing Meadows, and the Museum of Nature & Science in Dallas.
