Tamboti wood is calling my name – it sounds perfect. I love the SuL's – they are fun to explore and layer. My current fav is Velvet Musk, a generous sample of which was given to me by the charming Elson. I would love to play with the Vanilla set too. Thanks for posting about these, R!

K, I am fooling around with the Green Fig, trying to find something great to layer it with. Still haven't found the right thing. Will leave the Tamboti (patchouli! amber!) to you ;-)

$50 for 1 oz of edp? I paid $250 for my Black Orchid edp, don't recall how many ounces it is, but it can't be more than 1.7 – now I really wish I had waited.

Well, in my agony, I called Elson – he is at home due to the transit strike and may not be in tomorrow either for the same reason. The $50 1oz edp deal is only for the holidays, once stock is gone there won't be any more. Regular price for 1.7 oz is still $250, so I don't feel as anguished, but still.

Drat T, I know that feeling of seeing something you bought at full price offered much cheaper!

Glad you called, I didn't know this was a short term deal — thought they were lowering their prices or something. Should have known, LOL!

Further update: Elson is at work today, he said he received an email last night saying the 1 oz edp custom blends you listed WILL be part of the permanent collection, so that's good news. I ordered the 3 Rich Exotics set and he was kind enough to swap out the Pashmina for the Tamboti Wood since I just bought the Pashmina two weeks ago. Woohoo! Got free rollers of Incense and Cassis too. Elson is a doll.

T, do let me know how the Tamboti is, and the incense too for that matter, haven't tried either one!

I tested Incense from a sample vial so didn't get a full spritz, but this one smells to me like a much milder version of Armani Bois d'Encens, something I plan to wear when I want that smell but not in such a strident way (the Armani can be overpowering on me).

Thanks. Will have to try it. Wish Barneys had not discontinued the line, I almost never go to Saks in NY. Guess I'll have to start!
