Posted by Robin on 5 December 2005 14 Comments

Yves Saint Laurent In Love Again Jasmin Etoile perfumeYves Saint Laurent will launch another limited edition of their In Love Again fragrance in early 2006: In Love Again Jasmin Etoilé. With mandarin, anise, cassis, starfruit, jasmine, sandalwood, cedar, vanilla. (via parfumessence)

New from Parfums de Rosine: Rose de Feu, a fragrance with notes of orange, ylang-ylang, magnolia, cardamom, spiced-bread accord with cinnamon and brown honey, rose, jasmine, white musk, sandalwood, vanilla, amber, patchouli and vetyver. Available at Liberty in the UK or at first-in-fragrance in Germany. Update: Parfums de Rosine Rose de Feu was created by perfumer Francois Robert, and is a spicy floral for a "sensual, warm and mysterious" woman.

From the CB I Hate Perfume Secret History series, Winter 1972: the scent of new fallen snow, mittens and frozen forest. Update: see a review of Winter 1972.

Cerruti 1881 Blanc perfumeCerruti will launch Cerruti 1881 Blanc in March 2006:

As its name (Blanc) suggests, the scent is based around the white cotton flower, which makes up the heart of the fragrance, along with white freesia and white gardenia petals.

Additional notes include cool aldehydes, white grapefruit, pear, white cashmere musks and vanilla cream. Cerruti 1881 Blanc will be in 100 ml Eau de Parfum. (via moodiereport)

Lotus, the British sports car company, will launch their first fragrance next March. The men's scent will have notes of lemon, moss, lilac, lavender and geranium. (via cosmeticsinternational)

ooh, that Rosine sounds good, though it sure has a lot going on, notewise! Have you tried it, R? The Lolita L also sounds intriguing. Heck, they ALL do.

L, haven't tried it, but Marina has a review of it on Perfume Smellin Things (link on left sidebar). It sounds worth trying, and agree on the L — want to try that too. Also want to work through the 400 samples I already have — argh!! Wish we could have a moratorium on new releases until I catch up.

What the heck is a “solar” note? LOL! This is worse than the “spirit of life” note in that S-EX line, don't you think (because really I think that latter note is a euphemism for a sperm note, ha, ha!).

Anyway, I cannot wait to test the new Rosine. I agree with Laura that it has a lot going on, but I bet it's delicious nonetheless. I ordered samples from George, but I am not sure he received my emails with my mailing address. Oh well! If not, it will get to me in time. :):)

    Hugs!

R, TM Alien has the same solar note, if that is any help!

Do let me know how the Rosine is! It sounds very promising.

    Hugs back!

Oh dear, it sounds like I absolutely *MUST* have Winter 1972! I can't think of notes that would put me in a better mood than those :-)

The Rosine still sounds too floral for me but I'm intrigued. There are now several of theirs I want to try.

The Winter 1972 does sound good! CB says he has been perfecting his snow scent, which he originally did for Demeter.

Love several Rosines, especially Ecume & Une Folie…and the latter is not overly floral, but more of a fall/winter chypre.

Those sound really great. The YSL sounds nice: I've liked the previous editions of In Love Again, but they always seemed to contain grapefruit which turns on my skin. This new one might be nice.

I'm also intrigued by “L”. Lolita Lempicka is one of those fragrances that I “almost” like, however, sweet gourmand scents are not really me – even the adorable packaging hasn't sucked me in. Wonder what the packaging for “L” will look like?

There is a picture of the bottle for L at osmoz (see link above). It is not a great shot, and wish I could find a link to another — I did see one recently. It is an unusual bottle.

I have a bottle of the “in Love Again” from last year, and I really enjoy it. The bottle 100ml bottle is 2/3 used (rare for me to use this much of something.) I was told over and over again by the YSL people that they would only release the In Love Again every four years. Anyway, this summer I saw the version pictured above here in Europe. It smelled just like the one I have..hmmm….is the one coming out in 2006 different?

K, I *think* that the regular version of In Love Again is only released every so many years, but they have been doing these limited edition variations on the regular scent — last year it was “Fleur de la Passion” (with passion fruit), this year, the jasmine one. So yes, they are different, but how much so I can't say as I never got to smell the Fleur de la Passion.

Robin, thanks for that info! I thought I was seeing things this past summer when I saw the pink box and I do now recall it said Fleur de la Passion. I did get to smell it and spray it on me, and I swear I thought it was the same one I had. I guess I didn't pay enough attention to it. It must have had very similiar notes. (I know I smelled the grapefruit.)

I am really looking forward to trying the one in the spring, as the notes sound wonderful. I hope I love it, because I just love the shape bottle.

I think they all have the same grapefruit & berry & musk base. Jasmine sounds like it could be nice — I'm going to look for it too!

I can't wait to try the new Rosine. Spices and roses always move me!
