Sophie Labbé of International Flavors & Fragrances has been awarded the Prix François Coty, a prize given to "artistes parfumeurs" in recognition of their achievements in the field. Her fragrance creations include Cacharel Promesse, Givenchy Organza and Organza First Light, G de Gigli, Nina Ricci Premier Jour and Boss Woman.
“I am happy to receive this award on three counts: as a perfumer, as a woman—as this is the first time the award has been given to a woman—and for IFF, as it is also a first for the company,” Labbé said. (via abc-luxe and cosmeticnews)

Yay, a woman gets a prize for artistry! Premier Jour is my favorite creation by her, but I also have smelled G by Gigli and it is a lovely floral oriental from what I recall. Very talented perfumer–I'm happy for her.
S, I am hanging my head in shame…haven't smelled either of those. I am always behind!
