Stella McCartney has released Stella Rose Absolute, described as an "Eau de Parfum Intense" version of her eponymous fragrance, with notes of rose, peony, mandarin, rose absolute, and amber. Now available at liberty in the UK and sephora in the US. Update: see a review of Stella McCartney Rose Absolute.
CB I Hate Perfume has released At The Beach 1966, the first fragrance in a new Secret History line. The scent features notes of Coppertone (the circa 1960s version), North Atlantic salt water, wet sand, seashells, and driftwood. Update: see a review of CB I Hate Perfume At The Beach.
A limited edition harvest line is coming from Givenchy, starting with a new version of Amarige using the 2005 mimosa harvest from Grasse. Organza will be reinterpreted with "an intensified note of Indian Jasmine", and Very Irresistible with Bulgarian rose. (via escentual-news)
Must try Rose Absolute! Regular Stella was somewhat blah and weak on me.
At The Beach sounds just like something I should avoid at all costs. Not another aquatic *weeps* Is there a CB I Hate Perfume scent that you particularly like, R.?
Stella was blah and weak on me, too. I am curious to see if this “intense” perfume suffers the same fate on my skin or not.
The Givenchy news is exciting to me… I have an odd fascination with that house, although lately I've been more intrigued by their male scents. Organza and I have never gotten along in the past, but an amped up jasmine might fix that. Something, anything to fix that vicious honeysuckle would be good by me!
Hi M, I am not big on marines, but I did rather like the CBIHP Mr Hulot's Holiday. It has an ocean note, but not that big expansive marine note that is in so many commercial scents. I haven't tried the new one, but not sure I would like the coppertone part. I really like the Russian Caravan Tea (which I reviewed already) and CB 93 (a very green scent with some fir notes).
K, I will be very interested to see the price, as I am still in sticker shock over the price of the L'Artisan limited edition harvest scent (Fleur d'Oranger). Wonder if this is going to be the next big concept?
Russian Caravan Tea sounds so very appealing, every single word in that name. I've got to go visit Russia soon, this nostalgia is getting silly, next thing you know I am collecting Russian Nesting Dolls. Bah! Off to order a sample of Russian Caravan Tea as a temporary solution.
LOL — not really on topic, but my mother went to Russia last year, and the “modern” nesting dolls are incredible. She brought me back a Beatles set (John on the outside, then Paul, then George, then a little tiny Ringo).
LOL my husband would have loved your set. Last Christmas he bought me (himself) a set of nesting “Perestroika” dolls (Gorbachev the biggest, Lenin the smallest). So in our house you would hear surreal conversations like –
Little toddler girl who scattered these nesting things around the place, worried expression on her face:
“Mama, where is Lenin?!”
Oh, now I want that set too!!!
