I am excited about YOSH coming to Barneys, because I keep meaning to smell some fragrances from the line and then never managed to. Do you like any of them?

V, I have a bunch of samples I haven't gotten around to yet, so so far, have only tried Stargazer & Omniscent. I liked both of them, but didn't love them enough to buy. Ginger Ciao is I think said to be her best, and I need to pull that out of the sample pile.

Ok, I just dug out my samples and applied Madame Koko. I cannot get used to oils, which is why I have not gotten around to testing them yet. Madame Koko starts out rather sharp and green and then suddenly there is a whiff of gardenia. We will see what it dries down like.

Glad to know I am not the only one who cannot get used to oils, V. I really need to buy an alcohol fragrance base one of these days.

Don't get excited, V, lol. They're mostly readily-available fragrance oils, sometimes without even having the name changed from the original vendor, blended rather simply.

I believe, my opinion only — that she appeals to those who like simple, easily-accessible scents.

They lay on the skin, don't evolve, and are flat, as inexpensive synthetics tend to be. I hear she is trying to learn about true essential oils and absolutes, and studying perfumery, so perhaps the line will improve.

Marketing genius, though, have to give her that.
