Fresh is opening another store in April, at 872 Broadway near Union Square, and plans future stores for the Upper West side and Battery Park. They are planning to open a total of 5 new stores this year, and look for a flagship in San Francisco by 2006. (via cosmeticnews)
Bond no. 9 plans a 4th NY store at 399 Bleecker Street in the West Village. The store will open in June, and the 24th fragrance in the line, Bleecker, will launch in September. (via Women's Wear Daily)
It seems a bit overambitious to open four stores in one city to sell one line of niche fragrances, no?
Would have to agree, but what I know about merchandising would fit on the head of a pin. They certainly aren't the only ones with multiple stores, right? Are NYers particularly unwilling to travel to another neighborhood to buy their perfume?
Not to mention that it is also at Saks, Tania! I wonder what the reasoning is. I also wonder why there are TWO stores on Madison? I think there are, anyway.
