Yeah, and I am one…a Lang fan, that is. But I'm wondering how attached one should get to the scents. They seem to be produced with a “here today…gone tomorrow” mentality. Which is not one I admire in the art of perfumery. I will probably pass on buying a full bottle of this one, [pretty pretty bottle it is; a definite improvement for Lang] but I do hope to try it.

Agree on the bottle, much nicer than the others. Have to admit I have only tried 2 of the scents, Cashmere & Exotic Tea, and I wasn't taken with either one.

Ooh, excitement! My custom scent has several of those notes! I wonder if Barney's will be carrying this. Do you know, Robin? I note that SLang is no longer mentioned on Barney's website?!

Thanks for keeping me and all of us abreast of things!

L, I have no idea, but Barney's website is bizarre and they do seem to take things off even though they are still carrying them. Maybe try emailing through the SL website?

Actually I thought your custom scent sounded better than this :-)

Hey LaureAnne!!! Long time, no see!! Glad you are stopping by this wonderful blog to keep abreast of the fragrance news! Your LA custom scent does sound better than this one, though I would like to sniff it. Barney's still has the SuL counter, and I plan on concocting a custom scent of my own next month. I wear Soft Musk almost daily now, though it just has no staying power on it's own, or I've become immune to it! Put on my coat this a.m. and sniffed it on the collar though. It lasts longer on my coat than on me!

Hi Kska! I'm excited for you about your custom scent! Please report here when you get it! I tried to navigate the Beautycafe site last night and got very frustrated. The process kept stopping midstream. So much for Beautycafe. I DID email the Susanne Lang website and got a nice response this am from Susanne Langmuir herself. She says that there will be 8 new 'couture' Susanne Lang fragrances at Barney's in midApril when I'm going to be in NYC (trip planned long ago), one of which is Black Orchid (white flowers with vanilla bean) and a Red Ginger. Both would work well with Cashmere, she says, knowing my love for Cashmere.

    Miss you, dear woman!

Wow! A personal email from SuL herself! You ARE special, LA! Thanks for the update on the new custom scents. I think I'll pop off an e mail to SuL too. I want to know how to extend the lasting power of Soft Musk, which I plan on using as the base of my custom scent, “Karenska.” I'm a “patch hag” as you know, but somehow, SuL's patch is too masculine and sharp for me, so I'm not sure I'll include it in my scent. ……OK, maybe just a touch. I have a rollerball bottle of Cashmere – which is beautiful! – and Sandalwood. I'm glad you're coming to the city mid-April, but I'll MISS YOU!!!
