Essencias De Portugal says their violet soaps have "relaxing powers"; they also have apricot kernel (as an exfoliant), glycerin and olive oil. Two 50g bars in a cork jar are $13.50 at Smallflower, where you'll also find the brand's soaps in too many other fragrances to name here (although the cherry, with "a finishing touch of bitter almond and chocolate", sounds particularly lemmable.
The daily lemming
New from the (luxury) Loewe home collection (most of which I've been lemming since it came out in late 2020), new soaps, available in liquid or exfoliating bars-on-rope, in Liquorice, Marihuana and Oregano. The description for the Liquorice bar soap: "The Liquorice solid soap is a cleansing bar perfumed with the sweet aroma of the liquorice plant’s roots that leaves the skin feeling soft and refreshed. The aromatic scent reveals deep, woody notes over time. [...] Exfoliating particles of red algae infuse the soap with their properties—red algae has been used for thousands of years to fight skin inflammation, dry skin and wrinkles, being rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals—while shea butter is a skin-nourishing, soothing and deeply moisturising element." $48 for the 290g bar, $60 for the 360 ml liquid soap, at Parfums Loewe.
The daily lemming
Grapefruit soap from Portugal's Castelbel: "Ever dreamed of having all the tantalizing scent of a late summer orchard in the palm of your hand? Well, now you can with the Target-exclusive Alma Lusa Grapefruit Scented Soap Bar! This soap is expertly crafted with a vegetable base, ingredients of the highest quality and fragranced with a refreshing tart & sweet, fruity aroma. The result is a soap bar that foams into a rich, creamy lather and leaves you feeling squeaky clean and smelling like summer! Each Alma Lusa Grapefruit soap bar is wrapped by hand in brightly colored paper and tied with a small orange string." $3.99 for 150g at Target.
Lazy weekend poll ~ what’s in your shower, edition 6
July is drawing to a close, so it must be time for our annual shower census….do tell us about the scented products in your bath or shower! How many scented shower gels and/or bar soaps are in your shower right now? And do tell us the names / products. If you have any great scented products in other categories (hair care?) tell us about those too.
Or, as always, just talk about something else…
The (almost) daily lemming
From Wavertree & London, the Ice Cream Soap Bar: "Inspired by childhood memories of long lost summers and delicious, creamy Vanilla Ice Cream cones. A truly indulgent experience without guilt." (They're assuming you're not feeling guilty about buying too many bath products.) $8 for 200g at Eisler Chemist.
