I’m commando, again, and planning to spend most of the day by the water, reading and chatting under a beach umbrella. (I am just starting book 3 of the Blandings Castle series, Summer Lightning. It has been so long since I read this series that it’s almost like reading it for the first time.)

I like the smell of fish markets. I spent a lot of time in Croatia years ago, and every morning we would get up, and we would go to the fish market because the fishermen would literally bring the fish they just caught to the market at five in the morning, and something just drew me to the smell. They had clams, and branzino, and it was all straight from the Adriatic Sea, so it was that fresh smell of the sea as well.
