Indie brand DS & Durga has launched the limited edition I Don't Know What Murder Mystery Layering Set, featuring the title fragrance enhancer (I Don't Know What) and 5 new fragrances aka "suspects": Dr. Newman Hay, Madam Currant, Pat Von Chouli, Prince Amber and Professor Rose.
The Case of the Stolen Heart Notes: Someone has stolen the heart of I DON'T KNOW WHAT! The suspects are all lined up. It could be anyone...or any combination... layer your own solution.

I have wanted to make a layering set that actually works for years. I am passionate about having clients involved in their own creation process. While solving the mystery of who stole the heart of I DON'T KNOW WHAT (our fragrance with no heart note section), one can honestly make their own perfume and endlessly play with these 6 fumes. I believe fragrance can live on the level of literature. This set is a world one can enter and build via the nose. -D.S.
Dr. Newman Hay ~ "Country airs of new mown hay & meadows."
Madam Currant ~ "Dark fruits with deep transparent moss."
Pat Von Chouli ~ "Transparent patchouli with a signature spicy-earthy quality."
Prince Amber ~ "Soft desert ambers, fine incense."
Professor Rose ~ "Dewy fresh rose petals with a delicate sandalwood base."
DS & Durga I Don't Know What Murder Mystery Layering Set is $275 for 6 x 10 ml Eau de Parfum.

Okay, Newman Hay is pretty darned clever. But $275 for what amounts to a stunt is pretty spendy, especially since these all sound very gauzy and short-lived.
I think the whole set is very clever…but the brand in general is indeed spendy.
…more expensive than a Murder Mystery Night, with supper…?
Possibly. Hard to say which would be more fun 🙂
This immediately reminded me of the board game Clue, which my family played a lot when I was a kid. I’m surprised the fragrances aren’t name Col. Mustard, Prof. Plum, Miss Scarlet, etc. but I guess that would be a copywrite issue…
Clue does seem to be the theme.
Every time I see the name “I Don’t Know What!”, I think of Abbott and Costello.
Ha!
