(PSA: the splitmeet is now open for business!)
Today, our fifteenth annual Haiku Challenge (if you like, you can check out past years for inspiration). We're also happy to include other forms of poetry if haiku don't inspire you. Have a perfume-related limerick or a sonnet you'd like to share? Please do.
If you're writing a haiku, pick a perfume or a perfume house (or really, anything related to perfume), and write a haiku about it.
Use the simplified English form — your haiku should have three lines, the first line with five syllables, the second line with seven syllables and the third line with five syllables. You can put the perfume name in the title if that makes it easier, and at any rate, don’t stress over the rules of traditional haiku — this is just for fun.
Or, as always, just talk about something else.
Note: top image shows Inro, Netsuke and Ojime, signed Koma Yasumasa, ca. 1750-1850, Pfungst Gift, via Victoria and Albert Museum. (And you can read more about these traditional Japanese carrying cases at Wikipedia.)
Alright, here we go.
Givenchy Organza Indecence
Vanilla and woods
Don’t ask her, “Are you decent?”
The creamy temptress.
Van Cleef & Arpels First
First warmth after cold,
First flowers after winter,
Sparkling like jewels.
Tom Ford Shanghai Lily
White flower opens
To the darkness of spices
And goes up in smoke.
Brilliant!
Inspiring
Lovely:) ❤️
Very nice!
Excellent!
I ❤️ these haiku’s.
Wonderful
Bravo! I especially loved the VC&A one.
these are wonderful, Glannys!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 First-class! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
You make them all sound so good!
Gorgeous, all of them.
Go Glannys! The OI is perfect.
Is many bottles
like addiction or hoarding?
Who dares to spritz unicorns?
Perfect, and some very good questions.
Thanks SheriG,
Asking some real questions!
HA! Thanks Glannys
Indeed!!
Nice to see a unicorn spritzer Apsara!
Love it!
Thanks Kris
Haiku goes to the dark side here. Perfectly crafted!
HA! Thanks AnnE
I spritz the unicorns only when they request it. 🙂
I bet they request it often Missionista
Loved your haiku!
Thanks,
YOURS were the bomb
I am very bad at haiku composition, and poetry in general doesn’t seem to be in my wheelhouse. That said, I do enjoy reading haiku so I’m looking forward to everyone else’s contributions.
SOTM is Agar Ébène, for which I’m trying to make new and more pleasant memories. It was the only scent I took with me when Mr. G and I went on a cruise last fall, and while I loved the scenery, I didn’t really like the “cruise experience”. And there was the whole issue of the forgotten passport (not mine; nuff said). I do love AE, just need different associations for it, and today begins the process of making them.
No judgement but I bet you could knock one out
Okay, here you go, Portia:
Math is my strong suit
And poetry eludes me —
A left-brain haiku
😂
Half of my haiku probably aren’t perfume related. You can join me!
HA HA HA! Perfect1
Okay, that wasn’t perfume related. Here’s another (not great) attempt — an ode to Chanel 19’s iterations:
Roses and iris
Or galbanum and leather
Your choice of heaven
Nice!
Oh, yes!
Very good!
So fitting!
That’s a great one! 👍🏻
With you on the cruise experience. We’ve done it twice, both times on Disney, both times with young children (and both times paid for by my father), and it made sense in those circumstances (kids club! princess meet ups! adult-only side of the boat!). I don’t see it happening now.
Oakmoss memories
I may have “over applied”
Guess Original
LOL at ‘I may have over applied’–what a great haiku line.
I agree.
“Oakmoss memories” is such a wistful line.
So good
Is there such a thing
As too much of, nevermind
I know what you’ll say:).
Perfect! 🤣🤣🤣
Love this lol
Wonderful!
Got an earworm from the 1990’s now:

Like SheriG, I’m not great at haikus, so this will be a spectator sport for me.
I’m in Acne Studios par Frederic Malle from a sample. I immediately purchased a sample (a 2 pack actually) from the FM website after Robin’s recent article on Understated Brilliance. I’d also like to try Dior’s New Look.
Not sure that I love this one, but it is nice. Very strong on the aldehydes and I’ve seen several comparisons to no 22. I’ve not tried that one-shudder, I know- so I can’t speak to that. This morning I’m getting a sweet tart note, must be the orange blossom. I’ll enjoy my sample, but the price for this one is crazy.
Yes, I noticed the price was high.
Prada Infusion de Gingembre
“Gingerized poem

Rochas Citron Soleil
“Like a deep sea dive

Summer will come soon”

Oops! Wrong place, sorry!
Great haikus.
Your haiku match the art in your photos.
Lucasz! So good
Yves Rocher Orange
Et Chocolat: just what it
Says on the label
Felt like wearing it today, although it’s bright and sunny out and this does have a wintry feel, although that might just be because it was a Christmas 2010 limited-edition release and also my association between Christmas and a Terry’s Chocolate Orange, which by the way is no longer called that but merely a Terry’s Orange because it’s no longer made with actual chocolate but with “chocolatey confection” — imagine my disappointment last December. I’ll certainly never buy one again. But I have a bottle of this, which is enough to last a lifetime.
The flight home was okay except that the people behind us talked NON-STOP, particularly the two blatherskites diagonally opposite who never once stopped to draw breath except that one time when the man went to the washroom. Otherwise, an unending stream of gabble, loud enough of course to hear one another over the engine, which is to say loud enough for everyone in a twenty-foot radius to hear as well. It was so bad I had to put in my earbuds and put on some music to drown them out.
Ugh. We had a similar experience in a high-end restaurant last night — the table next to us (and of course the tables are very close to each other) was a group of 3 couples and we were on the man side (because the women and the men only spoke to others of the same gender). The guy closest to us had pre-gamed, I would say, and was bellowing at the other two the whole night, with obscenities liberally laced into the “conversation.” I WISH I could have put in earbuds!
And…what is it with high-end restaurants that make their spaces so LOUD? (Sorry, separate rant, but both here and in Toronto I’ve been to too many nice restaurants where the space is loud, the music is loud, and everyone has to shout to be heard.)
Were you in the States? I thought it was just an Ugly American thing.
We were in Vancouver (the Canadian version). It’s been a while since I’ve been to a really nice U.S. restaurant…probably the latest was Canlis in Seattle, and it’s not that loud, as I recall. But yeah, I think it can be a cross-border phenomenon.
I’m with you on the questioning the volume in restaurants. They are so loud, and it is so hard to have a conversation with your dining companion…
They have done studies, and restaurants with louder noise levels get more repeat business and a younger, bigger-spending crowd. Restaurants know this, even if some of us (me included) hate it.
No haikus here…trying to finish breakfast and get packed up to go to my sister’s house. Typical Canadian trip — I need a bunch of stuff for Ockeghem Teen to go to canoe/backpacking camp this summer, and REI is the best place now that our Canadian version is more or less gone. And I’m availing myself of all the other things I can get down there but not here, or for much less down there.
Bois des Iles extrait today. It really is lovely.
You smell great! Enjoy the shopping expedition/visit.
MEC is gone??
Well, they nominally exist…but if I want to give my money to a U.S. hedge fund I’ll just drive south and it’ll be a lot cheaper. 🙂 (And REI is still a cooperative.) It’s a me thing…don’t like the way MEC handled the sale. (Also they only ever had half the selction of REI.)
I’m wearing TRNP Prayer on this gorgeous spring day. Lilacs are in full bloom!
There are still lilacs here but many of them have faded…I do have a nice bunch in a vase though, whole house smells like lilac 🙂
Too many perfumes
It is still never enough
I know you get it
Perfection! lillyjo.
Yep!
Excellent and yes, we all get it!
Agreed!
Laughing and nodding in agreement!
So apt, well done.
Too true!
Good one!
Perfect, indeed.
Love this!
Ooooooh, yeah.
Love it!
🤣🤣🤣 You have a knack for amusing haiku!
Nice one, Lillyjo!
TOTALLY get it
I will have to think about the haiku later, I’m not very good at it.
Wearing Egoiste on a sunny warm day.
I am so bad at it I don’t even try. Love reading them though!
Here’s the app Sunday morning attempt, for Dior Dune.
Rose and wind swept sand
Golden hours spent in peace
The dunes are silent
Nice one!
I think you underestimated your haiku writing ability!
That is wonderful.
Spices scent the breeze,
Morocco dreams unfold
Farm fields whisper past
This is for “Watch Us Dance” a novel by Leïla Slimani, a book about Morocco in the 1960s. The story looks into the lives of a French-Moroccan family navigating the cultural and political upheavals of the era.
While reading this book I have been wearing two Amouages, one is Journey Woman, the other from a generous NSTer you sent me sample of Opus X.
Thanks to Kanuka, who posted the Guardian article here, I now have two more books added to my growing stack. These are novels Slimani read that influenced her writing.
For Opus X and my book
Roses bloom in air,
Leather and oud intertwine
Moroccan whispers
Very poetic.
Very nice!
You make beautiful poetry. 😌

Sitting by the lake where we are camping. I don’t always bring fragrance but this time I brought this warm weather favorite.
And that should be “summer” in the first line, no thanks to spell check for not catching that!
Enjoy the camping, I don’t know Un été, sounds good.
Nicely done – makes me want to try the scent! I read right over that typo. 😉
Enjoy your weekend. 🏕️
Enjoy!
I didn’t notice the typo either.
Pretty haiku
Apple and yogurt smoothie
Grand Amour today, suits the season and tonight YR Petit Beurre
Haiku from nostalgia about NYC
Bagel with cream cheese
how I miss New York
my waistline doesn’t
It should be New York City per the rules of haiku.
I can eat bagels for you….
😀
Nice:) There is a place here called New York Bagel I think, they have the best bagels I have ever had. Their Everything Bagel, is well, everything lol
Oh, a dangerous place then😀
Very! Lol they have the best cheesecake I have ever had as well!
I like Kossars- that is my bagel spot
Now I want a bagel with cream cheese for lunch tomorrow. 🥯
Did you find a good place for them?
Not yet. But I will keep looking.
So I had something else for my lunch today.
The campfire glows red,
A leopard lays still watching,
The sun drops down all at once.
Memo African Leather ~
Love this!
Lovely.
Good one!
Robin I think we should publish these haikus 🙂
If I had more time I would at least do a page with just the haiku from all the polls, leaving out the comments. But clearly I do not have time to even properly maintain this site!
Oh, I like that!
Very atmospheric.
Very cool. Painting a picture.
OOOHHH! You captured it
Beautiful carrying case and the perfect color for my perfume today.
SOTD = Atelier Cologne Sous Le Toit de Paris
Beautiful fragrance – my favorite off ALL the Atelier Colognes. It is sadly discontinued.

And while we’re on perfumetalk, here’s a NYTimes article on a Scratch-n-Sniff baguette stamp from France. I want, need I say more? I want want want …

Forgot about the Splitmeet, will have to check it out.
Haiku tomorrow, maybe …
Scratch and sniff baguette stamp?! Sign me up!
I know, right? I couldn’t figure out how to purchase it!
Thought about you when I saw my current showergel in use: LUSH Grass. It’s the same exact color the decant of Diptyque Tempo was that you had sent me.
You mean the one that turned fluorescent green? I love that it did that! Must be the air.
Yep! Grass might be in my top 3 LUSH showergels now. I get the smallest size, so it gets used up before I get bored. 😎
And it would be perfect to carry around perfume samples!
You do smell great, agree it was their best.
If only I can afford it!
Am I anosmic
Occasional whiffs of rose
And patchouli hmmm
Perles de Lalique
Hope everyone is having a nice Saturday! I went on a nice walk to the farmers market this morning, bought strawberries and sausages.
I’ve bought two full bottles of scent this year, and should probably really consider splitting them since they are 100ml which I will never use up, but feeling lazy. We’ll see!
What did you buy?
I bought Le Cri and Epic Woman.
I’m really surprised that not much has been posted for split. Was someone going to split Greco’s Rauque? I was looking forward to that.
trying to pare down
to ten scents. denied by the

excellent
LOL 😂
Only ten? I could never.
Cuckoo perfume prices
I have enough already
Just one more sample…
My inner fragrance voice is basically Gollum…the precious will be ours! 😅
LOL!
❤️
🤣
🤣👍
Change the last word of your haiku to “bottle”, and that was me this week. 🤪😭
Love the haiku challenge! This one is inspired by real events from today:
At the rummage sale
Spotted a Pacifica
Nose wrinkles; too sweet
Now to go back and read everyone else’s.
Which one was it?
It was Flower Moon, which billed itself as jasmine, peach and vanilla. Sounded, suss, like it might be too sweet, but I’ve had good luck with Pacifica in the past, so I thought it would be worth trying. Waaaay too sweet for me.
Seconding Kris!
Flower Moon, as above.
😂
A nice take on a humorous haiku
For real.
Powdery Iris
Ferre’ is the name of the scent
Beautiful to me
Nicely done Kris!
Excellent, Ferre is often forgotten and it’s really good.
I was fortunate enough to receive almost a full bottle of it from a NSTer and I absolutely love it!
Lovely!
And thank you for giving it to me😉
All your beautiful words have inspired me to join in! So, here’s my first try.
Always beautiful
Warm and cool, she waits for me
HG Vol de Nuit
A lovely tribute to Vol de Nuit.
Very good.
Hurray for writing your first haiku!
Beautiful AnnE!
Thank you, all. 😊
Such a Holy Grail
Isn’t it, though?
Happy weekend!
Sniffed the new Lush Bridgerton perfume today and really liked it. Haven’t looked up notes, but the top is fresh and grassy, lightly sweet with a herbal base.
Thinking if there is anything I want to put up for the splitmeet… There isn’t really a perfume I’m dying to add to my collection, so I might pass on hosting this time.
Aha, then I need to get to Lush!
I will check it out this week!
oooh, I was tempted after reading Lush’s list of notes on Bridgerton and from your description sounds like their list is accurate. I was hoping to get to the mall to do some sniffing, but I might just blind buy this one.
Yay, Haiku Challenge! I was also looking forward to this.
The scent of lilacs
Carried on a warm breeze
A new spring beginning.
“2024”
So many people here have been talking about lilacs this spring that it was a natural subject.
Thinking of haiku
As I drive to Costco since
I need groceries.
Another “slice of life” haiku inspired by real life events. Happier than the one I wrote last year.
SOTD = commando, but wearing Korres’ Grecian Gardenia body butter in the usual spots.
The first is lovely, the second made me laugh!!
The first one is very poetic!
Lol at the second one🤣
The scent of lilacs Carried on a warm breeze 💜 very nice!
💛 Glad you are in happier mood.
I like both of these!
I think you posted in the last week that you are looking for POAL.
I have a 10 ml travel spray in the box only used a few times that I would like to send to you! Please email me at sherainsocal with our good friends at the gmail. I got it from NM about 8 years ago so not the original formula but probably better than what’s in stores today 😆
I did! I will email you later on today. Thank you so much!
Hi Jalapeno, got your email and I will ship the POAL out this week! 🌹
These are good.
👏 👏👏
Thanks, everyone! 😁
You are hilarious.
Wearing CdG Daphne on this breezy spring morning.
You smell fabulous! I have a friend who has generously agreed to mule some Daphne back to me this summer and I can’t wait!
After a long day
A few soft, sweeps of comfort
Ah, Youth Dew Powder
Very nice poem.
So nice!
Was it really the powder!?! Can you still buy it?
Yep! It’s available on the EL website:)
Commando today as I get ready for a walk.
Yesterday, tested out Delina sample again.
Despite my angst about excess of perfumes, I have managed to fit most of them on a shelf in the bathroom. The shelf has some rope lighting that I use infrequently but it is fun to turn on sometimes. My inspiration is liquor bottles. Someday, if we redo our bathroom, I would like to have built in illuminated shelving.
So many bottles
Glowing like a swanky bar
Mists of daily joy
I like it !
Nice one!
I love delina- what do you think
I like it. It fits the rose I have been looking for, light and fruity without being sweet.
PdM was just sold, if you’re concerned about reformulation and really like Delina, might be a good time to buy.
Oh no! Who bought it? I’m a real Delina lover.
https://www.businessoffashion.com/news/beauty/advent-international-acquires-parfums-de-marly-and-initio-parfums-prives/
Oh, boo! I think a lot of my purchases are driven by fear of missing out, as if some of the perfumes are going to disappear. Trouble is that some of the ones I like HAVE disappeared.
PDM Delina seems a bit overpriced. I was hoping to find something similar at a lower price. I was going to check out that Nest fragrance someone mentioned. But I notice PDM has some small bottles and 30 ml might be just fine.
I love the image you create with your haiku! And the lighted shelves sound so fun and pretty.
Trying to add on
To get to the free shipping
Is so exhausting
So true!
That’s awesome, lillyjo!
LOL
great!
Ha, love this!
A woman after my own ❤️!
😄 Yes!
Ain’t that the truth!
Totally true!
😂 Truth!
Need to go to Lush
For Rose Jam and Sticky Dates
And of course, bath bombs:)
This is good.
Cute!
My two favorites!
Thanks!
Loving all the haikus!
Thought I’d post this, for anyone interested: There’s an article in the New York Times this morning about how now tween boys are going for designer fragrances, instead of Axe, inspired by TikTok: https://www.nytimes.com/2024/05/19/style/designer-cologne-fragrance-teen-boys.html?unlocked_article_code=1.tE0.O6Zb.KAPh8b2QicWI&smid=url-share (gift link)
I guess we’re all “smellmaxxing” now — who knew? I realized the author of the article is young when she cited foundational men’s colognes worn by high schoolers in the ’80s and did not mention Polo. Man, I could not run fast enough from a guy wearing Polo in the late ’80s, and it was impossible to get away since they were ALL wearing it and way too much of it.
I read that article too. I thought it was very interesting as I had no idea that guys that age were going for the expensive scents.
it was interesting.
Then came Polo Sport in the 90’s. Oh how I hated that one.
I thought that article was very interesting. I’ve also read that adolescent girls are into expensive skincare, which they obviously don’t need at their age. Such a hurry to grow up.
Yes, apparently Drunk Elephant is a big thing. Fortunately Ockeghem Teen really isn’t into trends (and doesn’t have TikTok).
I read it too! Have you read the comments?
No, I usually try to avoid the comments…should I dive in?
I did and they were wild, and quite contradictory!
That article is making me question my perfumistahood. 🥺
I read it this morning and found it highly entertaining. I loved the discussion of notes and what scent for what occasion. They’ve obviously watched some perfume blogs. I say, “welcome to the party!” There might be one in there who really stays with it and becomes a creator. I do hope, however, these kids are spending their own earned or allowance money rather than being indulged. I have a co-worker who is a struggling (now-single) mom of 3 kids. One of the boys goes through Axe like crazy. I told her she needs to make him chip in on the purchase or set a limit on how much is bought each month.
Yeah, I kind of laughed at the bit where some analyst says that brands like Gauthier are hoping that as these boys mature, they’ll stay with the brand. Ha! Not if they truly get into perfume! (I wore Acqua di Gio all through the ’90s and early ’00s and I haven’t bought an Armani scent since. 🙂 ) But I do hope they stay with us, as our world will smell much better!
I think they did mention at least one kid who spent his bar mitzvah money on perfume, and some parents who are trying to make them thoughtful about their purchases, but it’s a whole different level of $!
I watched the Tik Tok videos and was rather astounded by the young boys’ articulateness. Even if they’re being spoiled, as some sound like, I still applaud the fact that they can speak so well, and enthusiastically, compared to my image of the usually sullen male adolescent.
Definitely remember that. And how much more I liked Drakkar Noir.
Kept forgetting to post yesterday but I wore Lyric. I am no good with haiku so I won’t even attempt it. Currently in no 19 edt. The edt is probably my favorite or no 19.
Smelling great, Dawn! The edt is also my favorite version of No. 19.
House twins with you yesterday. I was also wearing amouage
A small hiss and purr,
Not as fierce as the name says,
You curl around me.
~ Babycat
Todays’ SOTD.
Perfect 😊
Adorable!
Makes me want to try it Apsara
Why oh why was this
EDT discontinued?
A pox on Chanel!
SOTD = Chanel Bois des Iles EDT
… also applies to all the Les Exclusifs EDTs 🤦🏻♀️
And for your reading pleasure on Sunday, a caturday special:
https://www.nytimes.com/2024/05/18/style/kattenstoet-belgium-cat-parade.html?unlocked_article_code=1.tE0.IOW4.PNP24xz6BA5t&smid=nytcore-ios-share&referringSource=articleShare
Such a bummer those EdTs were discontinued!
I love it when you start poxing! Lol.
SO TRUE
Lillyjo’s haiku for today inspired another one for me.
“Perfume math free”: a
Phrase that destroys my ironclad
Resolutions. Rats!
SOTD = back in Prada Candy with Vanilla Vibezzz body butter on my shins. Works so well in warm weather.
Perfume math free is so tempting! I’m trying to buy the Nuxe le Parfum but there’s nothing else I want that will just get me to free shipping. I hate to just get ” whatever ” and I don’t want to go over. Lol sometimes Perfume math is hard!
I’ve had the same thing happen when shopping online at Sephora. I hear ya!
Lololol that perfume math is the best. You smell great in Prada, Candy is a warm weather scent for me too.
Perfume math can be evil! Evil, I say!
Good one. I like that Rats! at the end. 😉
Had to keep it PG here! There were other words I could have used…
💛😃
😎😎😎
I’m loving all the witty haikus!
I made it to the mall today and got to sniff La Comete. My first impression and summary, it’s an amalgamation of several Chanel scents. Upon first spray on blotter, I was surprised it reminded me a bit of No 5, specially No 5 l’eau. Then I get this lipsticky violet/iris thing that reminds me of Misia. That goes away and the drydown on my skin is a powdery musk. It’s very pleasant and not linear, but an easy pass for me, phew! The Coromandel body oil on the other hand….. I have to try my best to completely dismiss, because my wallet is shuddering.
I made it to Lush but did not spot the new Bridgerton perfume.
Chanel oils! I am trying “la la la I can’t hear you” as goodness, they are up there. Wonder whether it’s possible to buy camellia oil and then do a diy…?
If it helps to tame the lemming, one con of the body oil is that the scent is quite soft, especially when compared to the Coromandel EDP.
Wearing Tubéreuse Criminelle on this first really hot day of the year.
You smell fabulous in one of my all time favorites❤️
I’m on a Chanel No. 19 EdP kick of late. And, of course, now wanting the EdT. Thank goodness I can smell this one.
Been busy lately. We got the kittens. Claire and Fanny. We’ve never had kittens. We kept them in the den for the first 10 days or so. Finally felt comfortable opening up the door. They’re hugely entertaining and into everything. They’re small but make a wonderfully thundering sound when they race and chase each other. And the wrassle like crazy. They seem to like us. My guess is Claire has chosen my husband. He’s her person.
I just went to my desk to log in for work and found my keyboard on the floor along with my notebook. I need a moat.
No 19 is gorgeous in both edp and edt. Your kittens sound adorable! And I had to chuckle about the moat.
Congrats on your kittens! Make sure to hide or secure everything that’s valuable. Remember: no place is too high to reach for a cat.
Congratulations on the kittens!
Aww, little Claire and Fanny, they sound so cute! Congrats:)
I’m so happy for you! A friend of mine just got kittens, a brother and sister, and is so entertained now by them. But also when the two of them curl up together to nap, they’re just so adorable.
Congratulations on the pair of new kittens! Definitely time to make things kitten-resistant in your house. It’s amazing what they can get into. 😺😺
What fun, even if you have to glue down the keyboard 😉
It’s another Monday, and a hot one! Our AC unit died last fall and we are awaiting a mini split that will cool our little house, not sure when it will be available and installed. So I’m embracing the heat! To that end, I am wearing L’Artisan Seville l’Aube, a summer staple for me, and we have a big bottle of Dr Bronners Peppermint Castile soap on hand. Ready for 88F today.
It was hot here all weekend. I broke down and turned on the AC. It’s cooled down now because a storm is coming through. I hope you can stay cool.
Oh good luck, hope it arrives before things get dire!
Monday morning scent is Osmanthe Yunnan. Incredibly beautiful.
Is really is, you smell great! Hermes makes wonderful scents:)
Hermes is easily the most represented house in my collection.
Hello!
Wearing a good dose of lavender lol Jersey layered with Burberry Brit Rythym for Her. Guess I wanted to wear both lol.
Lovely weather, not too hot. Will be joining a friend later by the pool for a bit. Should be nice.
Hope everyone is doing well 🌹
Oh, I bet those are nice together. Enjoy the pool!
No poetry here, just a complete, post-conference spritz-orama. It’s been remarkably random, as anything that catches my eye I immediately put on, trying not to overlap. Happily, at one of the lunch breaks I got to talk about perfume, and instead of dithering over the classic question, “which is your favourite?” I simply mentioned Dusita’s Douceur de Siam.
I love that scent. After you wore it last week, I followed suit and wore it the next day! Almost wore it today again, but grabbed another rose fragrance🌹
It’s a beauty, isn’t it? I hope if the lunch mate looks it up out of curiosity she doesn’t keel over at the price…
It is under $100 at some of the online discount places I have used.
Almond vanilla
Orgasmo tantalizes
No! Don’t bite my neck!
Just a little effort here for my latest obsession from Hilde Soliani.
Excellent Calypso!
It’s my last day of my vacation and I will grudgingly go back to work tomorrow afternoon. It’s in the 80’s temps wise and I am in Kyoto.
Sorry Dawn!! At least you smell wonderful.
A smudged perfume vial
Has thwarted my best sleuthing
Leaving me bereft
Story behind the haiku: a lovely neighbor gave me a baggie of samples, six of them from House of Sillage, a brand I’ve never tried. The problem: the names have worn off so I have no way to ID them. Arggghh. Y’all can relate to this perfumista conundrum, I know. The one I just tried is quite orange in color, it’s a BWF, and smells a LOT like AG Songes IIRC.
Oh drat, I do hate it when that happens.
Frozen raspberries and yogurt smoothie
I was going through some samples, pulled one, PdN Fig tea, pleasant but not very true to its name and poor longevity so this afternoon I applied Parfum Initial l’Eau which is a great favorite for this time of year and tonight Houbigant Essence rare which I love.
Fresh raspberries are getting to be really good here. I picked up more of them the other day when I got groceries.
Oh, interesting, here it’s to early, the season will start next month.
Good morning! Haiku inspiration didn’t strike me over the weekend, but I can see lots of verses to read this evening.
It’s a very dull day, and I’d prefer not to leave the house, but I know from experience that working from home isn’t my cup of tea. I’m wearing Encens Satin from the Armani Privé line.
Sorry you had to get out Gaynor! I had a long day out and so glad to get home to my nice chair and tea 🙂
A little tired this Monday afternoon. My brother had a colonoscopy scheduled in the morning, so I was up and about a couple of hours before my usual time. The place he goes to requires that someone be present for the entire procedure to give the patient a ride home.
We both got skeeved out when he was told “You were the first good cleanse of the day!” Ack. The implications of that statement, especially since he wasn’t the first patient of the morning. 😱
Under the first Tornado Warning of the season here. Oh joy. 🌩️🌪️
SOTD = back in Prada Candy and Vanilla Vibezzz body butter. The warmer weather is set to depart here overnight, so I might have to come up with a different combo to enjoy for a couple of days.
Keep safe and have an early night to recuperate.
So far I haven’t seen any severe weather. I’ll stay up until the Watch expires to be on the safe side.
And I should have typed Tornado Watch up above, not Tornado Warning. My bad.
Yeah, that is not information they need to share with patients!
(Sadly I do not even know the difference between Tornado Watch and Warning, or I’ve forgotten…but hope there were no sightings)
A Tornado Watch means that there is potential for tornadoes to form. A Tornado Warning means that one has been sighted in the area, and there is imminent danger.
Luckily for me, the Tornado Watch that affected my area expired early.
A belated thank you, and good!
I’m thoroughly enjoying all the haiku’s from you talented folks!
Wearing Bronze Goddess body creme today. I was visiting with my sister the last few weeks; I promptly got sick with a bug after I got home, most likely a cold. My most-worn fragrances when I was away were 4160 Tuesdays Clouds or Both Sides of Clouds. Her dog was very infatuated with all creams and lotions I put on as she tried to lick them off of me.
Today I felt better, so I finally got out to get a few plants and also plant some flower seeds. I’m trying to make a hummingbird haven in the backyard; they’ve been spotted a few times so I’m hopeful. I also got a raspberry plant; I’m extra thrilled!
Well drat, glad you are well enough to get out in the garden! And good luck with the hummingbirds. All I had to do in California is put out a fuschia, but I think it’s harder on the east coast.
