From Le Feu de L'Eau, the Petale candle: "Created without using a mold, each candle is sculpted underwater with a high-temperature wax. The color is hand mixed and the fragrances are custom blended into a soy candle filling, which melts at a quicker rate than the exterior wax so that as the candle burns the exterior becomes a wax shell. It sounds more complicated than it is. Just know it’s beautiful." With tuberose, iris and orange peel, $70 for 425g at Hero Shop.

Have you tried it Robin? It sounds beautiful to me. I see they have other candles like this in different scents.
No, I have not! I just thought these were so pretty.
These are as lovely in person. I bought the tan one last year, Marron maybe? But the side will melt if you aren’t very careful about flame size. Great scent though.
Oh great, thank you so much Coumarin!! So I’m assuming the trick is to keep the wick trimmed.
Yes, though I’m pretty good about trimming the wicks of my candles. Not really sure what happened, but since the shell isn’t very usable anyway, it wasn’t a huge loss to toss it.
Gotcha.
I liked that they added “it sounds more complicated than it is” after a little flight of marketing fancy. Then when I saw the reasonable price, I wanted to investigate. It does look pretty!
Yes, and several other colors / fragrances!
