A lemming for fans who have been missing Atelier Cologne...they have repackaged (and possibly reworked) the fragrances and have relaunched in China and North Asia. Many of the fragrances can be found on Lookfantastic at the moment for shipping to Europe. It's a start, maybe they'll be back in the US some day but who knows. Below the jump, a closer look at the bottles, still sold in 30 and 100 ml.
I am also seeing them on some duty free sites in Europe and elsewhere. Note that they do not appear to be officially distributed in Europe and they have not as of yet updated their French website.
Interesting, thanks for sharing Robin! The strategy of the brand (or better the L’Oreal Group) remains a bit mystery, clearly they are not big fans of clear communication and transparency, but as a Belgian, I’m happy to see them return to the EU market, albeit in disguise (or so it seems).
They weren’t cheap before their withdrawal from the EU and US market, and they’re definitely not cheap on their return, despite being fairly simple fragrances, tja.
Mystery to me too, although I have little stake in the game…I never really loved any of them except the obscure limited edition Sous Les Toits de Paris, and even that one I did not buy.
Hm, I’m glad for fans, but I only liked one or two of these very much and not enough to purchase either. These bottles look a bit more… L’Occitane? I wonder if they’ll be the same price.
Can’t imagine why they pulled out of an entire region, to be honest. Though I believe Lutens did something similar…
I think they must not have been doing as well as it looked like they were, they seem to be trying really hard to rebrand and guessing the US market was a distraction for them…all guesses!
Yes, it must be, though hard to imagine being in every Sephora and not being able to sustain success.
I must admit that I’m considering buying one of the ones I liked. I just so happened to google myself into a good deal after seeing this….
I just had a look. L’Occitane design for Byredo prices. I’ll have to keep hoarding my last 1/4 bottle of Trefle Pur, which is head, shoulders, knees and toes above the rest of the range.
