Indie brand DS & Durga has launched Roman Ruin Cypress, a new limited edition fragrance in the brand's Studio Reserves series.
A bold panache of towering old growth cypress in ancient city ruins. Pair with vintage motorboats and the good life.
"While gallivanting around Rome, I came upon a square of ruins sunk deep below the city. All around giant cypress trees shot up with an impressive breath. Ruins are remnants of the old empire; so too are these giant beauties baking in the Lazio sunlight. Cypress’s aroma is a dusky, enigmatic conifer that suggests a wizened age. While I stood at these ancient trees, sharp-suited and well-dressed Romans whizzed by on Vespas, leaving clouds of strong Italian perfume in their wake." -D.S.
The notes include bergamot, neroli, lime, cypress, rosemary, cedrat, lavender, labdanum and amberwood.
DS & Durga Roman Ruin Cypress is $400 for 50 ml Eau de Parfum.

While I agree they release to many fragrances for some years now, this one sounds tempting. I wonder how it compares to their 2011 Italian Citrus, which I like a lot. Some years back I noted a gasoline like note in that one, and here they mention motor boats and Vespas.
Interesting, maybe they’re related.
