A repeat of a poll we did in 2011, 2016 and 2020: let's say you're going to get three fragrances for free. Name your picks...
1. The first fragrance has to be a regular perfume that you could easily buy online — nothing ultra-rare or vintage or so exclusive you'd have to travel somewhere to buy it. What is your pick?
2. The second fragrance is a vintage (possibly but not necessarily discontinued) perfume that you're going to find at a garage sale, in perfect condition, for $5 (free in perfumath). What is your pick?
3. The third fragrance can be either an ultra-rare / exclusive / hard to find perfume, OR, a custom perfume made just for you by the perfumer of your choice. What is your pick?

And my answers:
1. Amouage Jubilation XXV or Santa Maria Novella Eva
2. Parfums DelRae Wit or Feu d’Issey.
3. Still thinking about this one! After all these years I can’t believe nobody has come up with my perfect greenish jasmine with incense.
Oh, Feu d’Issey! I have a couple of mL sloshing around in the bottom of my bottle but it went haywire years ago; I wonder if it was just one of those inherently unstable scents. (I’ve kept the bottle because it’s such an amazing, nonesuch object.) I’m with you: I’m changing my answer.
Ideally both Feu d’Issey (magically shelf stable) and Wit would be at the same garage sale, ha!
I love reading your answers too, Robin! I still want your jasmine perfume too.
Can’t get over Parfums DelRae. Everytime I wear them, it breaks my heart.
DelRae & Gobin Daude both make me sad….SO SO many lesser brands are still churning out boredom.
Yes, when niche didn’t just mean expensive. DelRae in particular felt like perfumes big brands would do in an ideal world: balanced, gorgeous, and spacious.
I joined perfumistahood too late to get to know Gaubin Daudé, but I’m very sad that there is no more DelRae. I never got to try Wit and Coup de Foudre, and am particularly sorry about the former.
I still regret not buying DelRae when they sold it at one of my favorite little stores in the Rockridge area of Oakland….
Sign me up too for that jasmine perfume😋
Happy weekend!
1. Ex Nihilo Fleur Narcotique extrait. Because I tested this recently and it’s been on my mind ever since.
2. Shalimar. I need to find out exactly how this legend used to be like in her earlier glory.
3. Guerlain again with this stunning bottle – https://www.guerlain.com/us/en-us/p/le-secret-de-la-reine-by-lorenz-baumer-P018337.html?ppex=true&G018337
3.5 If 3. is too much to ask for, I will settle with this –
https://www.guerlain.com/us/en-us/p/le-passeur-du-temps-by-la-maison-baccarat—P017735.html?ppex=true&G017735
The vintage Shalimar I’ve smelled very obviously had real animal-derived ingredients, and same with Jicky. I won’t argue the ethics of civet & castoreum but they did smell good. Mysore sandalwood contributed too, I’m sure.
Thank you Robin! I guess I should be grateful that I haven’t tried the vintage so I can stay very content with the current formulation. 😉
I have a mini of vintage Jicky and it’s glorious. I have tried different versions of the more current releases and the funk (to my nose) is unwearable compared to the perfectly balanced older version.
Your #3 is exquisite and you most certainly deserve it. 🙂
1. Probably a FB of DSH December. I have one of the little 1 dram bottles that I have been eking out, and which is just about empty. This is the only perfume I have been thinking about buying, so if I could get it for free, so much the better!
2. Lanvin Arpege. This seems to be maybe still in production, but recent formulations smell nothing like the vintage stuff. My mother had this, and it was the first perfume I fell in love with. It was very popular at one time, so there should be plenty of bottles available at garage sales, and I figure it is not improbable to come across an unopened or barely used bottle in perfect condition from someone who was “saving it for special occasions”.
3. Guerlain Djedi. I managed to obtain a tiny sample of the vintage extrait once, and I was blown away. A FB of this is my HG.
Djedi! I can’t even imagine. 💖
Well, I went ahead and ordered the bottle of DSH December. I knew this would happen if I began hanging out on NST again LOL. I think this is my first perfume purchase for myself in a couple of years (I don’t count the bottles I buy for DH.) Since my no. 1 item is no longer on the wishlist, I will instead say maybe Aftelier Wild Roses. I have gone back and forth on this one for a long time and burned through a couple of samples, but never could decide if it was FBW. If it’s free, though, I’ll take it.
1. I’ve ordered from a place in Canada that has all sorts of vintage and ultra rare stuff, so I’m gonna go with that, even if it’s cheating, because I can’t think of anything modern that I’m desperate to own. I want a bottle of Dior Eau Sauvage Extrême, which is in no way a flanker of the original, but a spectacular masculine chypre. I had it back in the day and I really miss it. (I could order it but it’s $150 and I can’t justify it. But if it’s a gift.…)
2. An ounce of vintage Mitsouko extrait — for me that’s a no-brainer — at the estate sale of some fabulous old woman who lived a long and well-scented life and had a backup bottle stashed away.
3. Nombre Noir, just to see what all the fuss was about.
Today I’m in CSP Vanille Banane, which is so much fun it puts a grin on my face every time, stacked with Vanille Abricot to dial the cartoony yellowness of it down a tick. What a terrific pair they make.
Nombre Noir has a reputation for having been unstable. I have a mini of it that I tracked down somewhere, and it is nice, but nothing earthshaking. I don’t know whether it has altered over time or if I would have felt the same when it was brand new.
Sometimes I wish I had a time travel machine, just so I could sniff some of these long-discontinued ‘fumes when they were first out, and could be sniffed at department store counters.
I did not find it earthshaking either.
I had one of those minis and was underwhelmed.
Welcome, Fall! 🍁🍂🍎🎃
1. Chanel Bel Respiro.
2. Vintage Calvin Klein Obsession.
3. The discontinued Tom Ford Sahara Noir.
SOTD Serge Lutens Feminite du Bois, one of my favorite Fall scents.
It is a very rainy day here thanks to tropical storm Ophelia. I am not planning to go outside this weekend. I will keep my declutering in the apartment. Does anyone know where to donate new medical supplies? I have a box with new, unopened PleurX drainage kits 500ml each that were delivered to my mother the day she passed away. I have contacted several hospitals and some organizations, but right now, they are not accepting donations from individuals. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
On my second cup of coffee and pumpkin waffles with bourbon maple syrup for breakfast.
Happy weekend, everyone! 🍁
Omg your breakfast sounds fantastic!
Thank you, Cazaubon. Breakfast today was very tasty!
We are almost pumpkin twins. I had a slice of pumpkin bread and it was delish. As far as the chest tube drainage kit and supplies: they should have an expiration date and if it’s past that date no one will take them because they are no longer considered sterile. I don’t think ANY human organization will take them. Your best bet is to check with local veterinarians and veterinarian surgery centers. They may be will to take them, at least the supplies, not sure about the pleur-evac.
Thank you for the info, Deva. I really appreciate it. The expiration date is 07/20/25. I will check with Yei’s vet and hospital and others in the city. I would prefer not to throw them away unless there is no other option. I hope vets want them, since they are all sealed.
Pumpkin bread is calling my name for later. Have you gotten any pumpkin cheese cream? There are tons at TJ right now.
Yes, I picked up two tubs when I left “civilization”. The second is near empty as we speak…😢 I also got two cartons of their pumpkin oat milk but that’s already gone baby, gone!
The pumpkin oat milk and cream cheese are the best pumpkin items from TJ!
Perhaps a local nursing home?
I will ask the one I have nearby next week when I drop off some boxes of disposable diapers and underpads. Thanks for mentioning it.
Good luck donating those medical supplies. My brother had the same issue after our Mom passed away.
1. Angels Share
2. Discounted Gio by Giorgio Armani or Shalimar
3. Guerlain Bee Bottle with any fragrance
Guerlain initial
Still reading Garden of Evening Mists
Sipping jasmine green tea
I’m always on the lookout for Gio at a fair price.
Ok- I will let you know if I ever find any 🥰
Like Lovestosmellgod, I also want a bottle of Angel’s Share, plus a bell jar of SL Santal de Mysore 🙂
I would love a pristine vintage bottle of Eau de Givenchy.
A giant 1L gold bee bottle of Mon Précieux Nectar.
In lieu of all that, I’m wearing SDV layered with Ginger Biscuit.
Eau de Givenchy.. swoon😍
I had a bottle in the 90s. I think it came from the drug store before it changed bottle design.
I’m with you and C on the eau de Givenchy! My trip to Montreal with my high school French class landed us at the perfume counter. I vacillated between Anais Anais and Eau de Givenchy as my one and only purchase. The former won out. EdG has always been the one that got away. Bought current formulation and hated it.
Good to know. I have wondered about the current version.
If you are looking for vintage the minis still show up online at the discount sites. And they are quite good!!
Thanks for the hot tip on the minis!
My pleasure!! They are cheap as chips last I looked
When I was in my early teens, I had a blue bottle of a Cover Girl body spray that I adored. Years later I smelled Eau de Givenchy and realized that’s what the body spray was modeled after. Smelling Eau de Givenchy now gives me a powerful nostalgia hit.
Liters of Mon Precieux Nectar! I am with you there!
Mon Précieux Nectar! Me too
I blew through several bottles of Eau de Givenchy! Such a great scent.
I don’t really have any opinions re: the three questions. I have limited sniffing opportunities, and I’m not someone who follows any certain perfumer. There are some lines I seem get on better with and others that just don’t work for me. If I sniff it, like it enough, and it’s within my financial limits, I’ll buy a bottle. The only bottle I kicked myself for missing out on was Onda, but I have since bought a bottle, although I had to grind my teeth at the price. No regrets, though. So, I think I’m done wanting, hankering, coveting, and finagling to get a full bottle of anything. (Other than the newest Shalimar of course, but I think the quality is much higher than the price suggests. It wasn’t too expensive and it was easy to get.) Time to revoke my perfumista card, I guess. 🤷🏻♀️
Rained during the night and temps are much cooler this morning. Dug out T-Rex’s fleece and she stepped into it like a pro. Too cloudy last night for sky photos but if it’s clear I will try again tonight. I’m wearing Ummagumma today and it’s just perfect. I love the incense note in this perfume. Just finishing breakfast of a slice of pumpkin bread I made last night topped with pumpkin cream cheese and a giant sized scorching coffee.
It’s cool, so quiet you could hear a pin drop, and a slight breeze smelling of juniper and pinyon. Later I will take a short hike and stop that the visitors center and browse the plethora of books about the history of this region. Not a bad day!
Happy swapping to all those participating and have a lovely weekend! ✌🏼
You smell wonderful. Ummagumma was one I thought of in response to question #1.
Not to enable or anything, but GET IT! It’s an absolute joy to wear. Like a warm hug from a lifelong friend who you haven’t seen in ages. 🤗
I’m so happy for you that you are in a quiet, beautiful place. Living the life!😊
A gentle rain has started again and it’s tippity-tapping on my roof. Perfect day for reading, cleaning indoors and napping! Hoping some of the bugs get washed off. My rig is looking disgracefully dirty. 🤷🏻♀️
Your surroundings, and your breakfast, sound like heaven. Enjoy!
🙂 Love the peace and quiet!
So glad you got your Onda!
With a little help from my friends, the VdE was mine! Always nice when you don’t have to pay exorbitant shipping, combining orders to reduce shipping costs. ☺️
Yes, so glad they’re at luckyscent now!
Vicariously enjoying your surroundings and your scent. It’s on my list of ones to consider for my gift certificate.
Ah, a gift certificate! How nice! Whatever you choose, I’m sure it will be just perfect. 😃 But, being biased, Ummagumma is fab!
Love the smell of sun-warmed conifers and pinon. It’s a happy nostalgic scent for me.
#1: Bois des Iles. Or maybe Boudicca Wode, which I really liked when I tried it recently. Or Jubilation 25.
#2: Feu d’Issey. (This could be #3 as well…) Or Halston from 1980.
#3: BUB of Paestum Rose? Molton Brown Cool, a cologne my spouse had in the 1990s that is lost to the winds of time (Molton Brown doesn’t acknowledge its existence on its site and it’s impossible to find in any database or on the internet anywhere). Or, whatever the Abercrombie & Fitch cologne from the 80s was that he’d filched from his dad and kept in a film canister when I first met him. (This was before A&F got bought by Limited Brands and became what it became.)
I’m afraid these aren’t really perfumista perfumes, but more perfumes associated with particular memories. 🙂
Today I’m going commando to start — going to go downtown and try some of those Zara perfumes if I can find them.
A&F really did some great fragrances back in the ‘80s. Bois des Iles was one of my picks too.
Oh, do they still make Wode? I remember loving it back in the 00’s but never bought a bottle.
Yup, Paestum Rose is so iconic to me. I wish I had another too.
You can get Wode at Luckyscent still. It’s on my wishlist!
Oh I’m so curious to try it again. Thank you!
Did you find those new-ish Zara perfumes?
I did not. They had lots of perfumes, but none of the ones I wanted to try. I ended up just ordering Leather Jardin and a small bottle of one of the Olivia Giacobettis. Mr. Ockeghem has said that if I don’t like the Leather Jardin he might.
Fun poll Robin!
It’s another gorgeous day here!🌞 I felt like I said the same thing last Saturday. That’s okay, we have to take these sunny days when we get them, I know the short gray days of November are coming.
1. A replacement bottle of either Tam Dao or Eau des Merveilles. I thunked both recently, but want to thunk a few others before I replace them. I’d gladly take a bottle now since it’d be free!
2. My beloved Lea by Calypso St Barth. My bottle is down to the last 15ish mls, which are now a dark amber color and I can see some sediment. Kind of like backwash (eew). Still smells great though.
3. Segueing off my Les Exclusifs game yesterday (thanks for playing everyone! it was fun to see everyone’s choice), I would go with Box of Eels. And as long as it’s free, yeah, I’m gonna go with the BIG bottle.😆
SotD: BoE.
I’m enjoying this weather, especially given what will soon arrive. We look to have balmy temps next couple of weeks.
My answer for all three is Nocturnes de Caron in any formulation ( but for question no 2 extrait would be lovely)
It’s easier when your 3 wishes are all the same, yeah?
I would take some vintage Caron Alpona myself, which really just advertises that I’m not a Caron person I guess…it was not one of their big guns.
I had a bottle of Alpona years ago but fell out of love and sold it. Wish I could have saved it for you!
Na, glad you got money for it, it would just be sitting in my cabinet, right? I have way too much perfume.
🤗
1 – Like Robin, I’ll go with a SMN but my choice is Fieno because I am lemming it bad while on a no-buy.
2 – Vintage Bois des Iles in any formulation, because I’m convinced that one day I’ll find one and hope springs eternal
3 – Jacques Fath Iris Gris
No buys are hard! I am on a weird no buy where for years now I look at the size of my collection and can’t make myself buy more. It’s easier, since I *could* buy, I just can’t make myself.
I wish I had that problem!
Perfume goals!
1. I’ve been thinking most recently about Perris Monte Carlo’s Jasmin de Pays. I was soooooo good and passed up a great price on it. JCE made a really beautiful jasmine with that one.
2. I’ve had some incredible luck over the years, and my biggest want for a long time was Emotionelle, which I happened to find a few years ago. I think some Guerlain Derby would really be a pinnacle of luck, even just a mini.
3. Man, I would love to sit down with JCE and make a Brin de Reglisse Intense, especially since the original is gone.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Oh I totally forgot! I need some Iris 39 before it’s discontinued. 🥲 That’s my number 1.
Is BdR discontinued? For shame!
Those are the rumors on the street, along with Paprika Brasil, Vanille Galante, and maybe Muguet Porcelaine? Usually I don’t take much stock in these rumors because the Hermessences were always coming in and out of stock but Hermes does seem to be having a purge.
Ah, interesting. True though that things are always coming in and out of stock, and they remove them from the website when they’re out of stock (or at least, they used to).
I try to be hopeful but I did get a back-up of Paprika Brasil. I haven’t decided if I should for the others. 😅
1. I just found out that Jo Malone Ginger Biscuit has been re-released. I love ginger notes.
2. Vintage Box of Eels. Preferably the parfum.
3. Crabtree & Evelyn Extract of Mysore Sandalwood. I’ve seen it for $600 on ebay but that’s just crazy.
Kris, I didn’t see yesterday’s question until late. I got the 65+ flu and RSV. Today I go back for the new Covid. I am lucky that I get no side effects other than a sore arm and some fatigue. Yesterday’s Stash was so nice I think I’ll wear it again today.
I had no side effects from the RSV and just a sore arm from the Covid. If I wait until December for the flu vaccine I could get the one for 65+, but I don’t think I want to wait that long. Hopefully, your Covid shot will go fine today. Good luck!
1. Chloe Rose Essentielle Intense (I fell in love with it at the duty- free)
2. Grossmith Shem el Nessim in extrait version
3. Doblis
What does the Chloe smell like?
Is it a new one?
It smells of pure rose, not tea rose or red rose, it’s a pink rose, I got 5 hours of joy, the base is light woods, before it faded which didn’t surprise me as it’s an all natural. It was released in 2022, so fairly new.
Thanks Aurora. I am going to look for it at the store’s around here.
Ooh, do tell about the Chloe!
It’s a pink rose, unadorned, so I think people find it boring but I find it perfect, light woods in the base, duration 5 hours, to be expected as it is an all natural.
Shem el Nessim is amazing!
It is supposed to have been the precursor to l’Heure Bleue, it’s just out of my price range, so I console myself with vintage l’HB extrait acquired before it started to cost an arm and a leg.
The re-issue of Doblis extrait was one I told myself was too expensive, and now I regret not getting it. Such a beauty, and the only JCE I ever loved.
Yes, I was vaguely aware of the re-issue but was building a collection of very affordable vintage perfumes, so like you didn’t consider buying something so expensive. In my case I’m a fan of JCE😀
Gosh, this is hard, or I’m greedy.
1. Dior Eau Noire, or MPG Ambre Précieux (Ultime) or Parle Moi de Parfums Garden of India or Les Indémodables, Oriental Velours.
2. Vintage Rochas Femme or the first Amouage Gold Woman or DelRae Wit or Coty Chypre
3. Grandiflora Madagascan Jasmine and Queen of the Night. They don’t seem to be sold in Europe anymore.
I’m stupid, I completely forgot about Rubj extrait for number two.
I still remember that Amouge Gold over-the-top bottle the SA at Nordstrom showed me in a previous perfume lifetime. Can’t believe I didn’t bite the bullet on that one. A 50ml extrait bottle at Nordy’s! smh
Happy weekend all.
When I first got seriously interested in perfume back around 2009/10, there were so many things that I could try as decants, but couldn’t buy here or online. While that still true for many small independent brands, now there is so much perfume out there and readily available online, but I can’t find anywhere to sniff them.
1. I’m very tempted by the re-issued Enlèvement de Sérail, but it is expensive.
2. There are so many vintages I’d like to try, I’d settle for something plausible like Mitsouko or Miss Dior.
3. If price were no object, I’d be happy with some of the more exclusive Guerlains.
Gaynor, short of a trip to NYC I can’t smell much in person either. And I don’t really go to NYC any more….AND, many of the places I loved to go to test perfume are gone now even there. So we’re in the same boat pretty much!
I’m guessing in the US it’s a bit easier to get samples?
I’m curious about your 1 as well. I never tried the original.
RE: your #3 – Guerlains are a good choice for anyone’s “3 wishes.” 🙂
I didn’t sleep well which is rare for me, so I am pretty out of it today, blech. I am drawing blanks for the poll but I’ll try.
1. Bombay Bling.
2. So many! But I’ll say Chanel No 5 bcs that’s how I found my current bottle and it’s running low. (It was $7.50)
3. I would like to have Dawn Spencer Hurwitz make me a perfume that’s the life of a maple tree: the green sap, woods, vanilla, real maple syrup and a trace of sweet smoke for the burning leaves. Incense for ash.
This is the first swapmeet that I’m not participating in. I’m pretty happy with my collection right now.
Bombay Bling is on my long list too. I think if I had a bottle it would go quickly.
It would smell great in your climate!
Yes! I had a nice sample but accidently sent it through a laundry cycle. 🥲
Sleep well tonight ringthing.
Thanks lillyjo.
Oh, I want your #3 too!
Sweet dreams tonight 🙂
Thanks, Robin.
Your #3 sounds great!
Hope that you slept well last night, ringthing.
Thanks, I did!
SOTD is Shalimar MI. Finally got the caramel note after about 5 hours of wear. I sprayed some more now so back to powdery iris with some of the usual Shalimar notes.
I am not really wanting anything right now even if it is free, but would probably say for #1 I would go with Guerlain Mitsouko and a discontinued one I used to really like was Love by Chloe.
Good questions
1. Mona d’Orio Cuir.
2. My first thought was my beloved Ivoire, in parfum, but there are so many…
3. I never got to smell the Gobin Daudes. I would take one of those.
In Jour d’Hermes today.
I am late getting back here but you smelled great yesterday SarahN!
1. Creed Sublime Vanille.
2. Serge Lutens Daim Blond, vintage. The decant of the current version is nice enough, but I miss that rich, sweet juicy apricot.
3. No particular scent but maybe some American houses that are not sold or hard to find in Europe/Ukraine. Sonoma Scent Studio is the only house I can think of immediately. Oh, and maybe just to try more Le Labo city exclusives.
Daim Blond was good stuff, for sure.
I have not smelled anything from Sonoma Scent Studio since the brand changed hands.
SOTD = 4160 Tuesdays Salt Rose EDP
Mineral salt rose! ❤️
https://www.instagram.com/p/CxjGcWvx2mX/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
To the poll:
1. I don’t really need anymore but Chanel No.19 EDP comes to mind.
2. Vintage – Chanel Boos des Iles Parfum
3. None – If I missed out on something, I missed out. No use crying over spilled milk … errr … perfume 🤣 . Hah! I would love to work on a custom perfume with Mandy Aftel.
https://youtu.be/mA1voqyV-ys?feature=shared
I song matched your post. Hope you like Country 😊
😀
Cute!
You smell(ed) great, love Salt Rose!
Isn’t it? They are mostly large samples but always so good.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen you mention yesterday’s SOTD before.
It’s brand spanking new from one of the packages I received on Wednesday!
Aha! That explains it. 😎
1. Liters of Mon Precieux Nectar
2. Liters of vintage Dune Extrait.
3. A tenderly and correctly stored, unopened bottle of original Jacques Fath Iris Gris.
Fun! SOTD La Chasse aux Papillions, which I should probably be buying BUB’s of now…
I love all 3 of your choices!!
1. No.22
2. So many.. but I will go with Gucci Envy
3. New West.
I know cm8 will co-sign on my #3. It was fantastic!
Nice list!
Oh gosh YES to Aramis New West!!!! At the time there was nothing else like it!!!
I’m blaming (crediting?) this poll for me pulling the trigger on a bottle of Cinema EdT. That and the Fall scent polls….
1. I’m thinking Coco. Chanel scents that have a bit of peach draw me.
2. Chamade extrait. Vintage. It’s difficult today, so I’d probably take non-vintage if it can be found.
3. I think I’ve said this before, but I’d probably have Patricia De Nicolai blend something new, if not just find the formulation of the original Le Temps d’une Fete from the early ‘90s.
I love your number three!
I wish your number three would come true!
And I would like her to make me the originals of Vie de Chateau, Kiss Me and Eau Exotique!
1. La Perla Let the Dance Begin. I had an frustratingly bad interaction with their customer service, so I refuse to give them my money, even though I really want this one. Getting it for free would solve that problem!
2. Organza Indecence or Issey Le Feu. Hope springs eternal that I will find either one day.
3. I’d have a custom perfume made that smells like my favorite beer: Prairie’s Apple Brandy Barrel Noir Stout. (Although if I’m honest, I’d be happy to pay for such a thing)
Ugh to the bad customer service. It really ruins the perfume buying experience.
Sorry that La Perla was so uncooperative.
What a fun poll!
1. FB of St. Clair Scents’ Gardener’s Glove or Fresh Cut
2. Guerlain’s Parure extrait de parfum
3. L’Iris de Fath extrait de parfum
You will smell wonderful! I’m hovering around St. Clair Scents. There are several there that appeal to me.
Another gorgeous fall Sunday morning! Wearing a ton of Cuir Cannage. Ahhhhh…..
I envy you, we are having days and days of gloomy rain…
If Kanuka is reading – I finished the Garden of Evenings Mists
Did you like?
Read thru all the comments to this just now! This is an excellent exercise!
Keeping the incense going with CDG Jaisalmer. Very grey and rainy day yesterday, some significant storms and rain overnight, and today is all squeaky clean, freshly laundered, and bluebird sky gorgeous. 😎 🌵 Prickly pears about to bust into bloom, hope I’m here to see it!
Prickly pear cactus flowers are very pretty! Hope you get to see them.
Well, now I’m not sure if they’re actually flower buds or just the propagation of another part (lobe?) of the cactus? Anyway, whatever they are, they’re really pretty. 🙂
I love reading these polls!
1. Chanel No 22 or 1932
2. Vintage l’heure bleu or Jicky
3. Parfums DelRae Bois de Paradis!
We are No.22 twins!
It’s so beautiful!
What a fun poll! Without thinking too hard:
1. Chypre Palatin, it’s been on my wishlist for so so long
2. Guerlain Vol de Nuit in the propeller bottle
3. Bertrand Duchaufour can create a perfume for me!
Commando so far but I just received a fragrant package from the generous Vee yesterday, so something wonderful will be on my arm very soon.
Hey, Bertrand Duchaufour can create a perfume for me too, any time 🙂
Had to do a bit of pondering for this one. Here goes!
1. Clinique Wrappings (assuming it is still in production).
2. Vintage Samsara or vintage Tuscany per Donna. With the real Mysore sandalwood.
3. Not sure which perfumer I would choose. But the perfume would potentially have incense, jasmine and patchouli notes in it, all perfectly balanced. Maybe a bit of dark rose just for grins.
SOTD = Aedes de Venustas EdP, from one of you wonderful folks here. My sample has maybe a drop or two left in it. What a gorgeous incense perfume!
An alternate option for #3 would be to find a BUB of Agent Provocateur’s L’Agent. I can’t find it anywhere anymore, not even for extortionate sums of money on Evilbuy.
They have the silk body elixir (whatever that is) of L’Agent on Perfume Emporium…
Your #3 sounds gorgeous!
Your dream perfume sounds so nice, all notes I love. And number 2, I have the Aramis Tuscany per Donna, I recall the nice ebay seller who accepted my offer – it was in the £20’s for 75ml IIRC – writing to me, ‘I promise you’re going to love this perfume’, how right she was.
After three vaccinations in two days I have two sore arms and generalized body aches but nothing that Tylenol can’t manage. I am happy to have them all out of the way for this year. I’m wearing Harvest Mouse.
Yay for getting your vacs all done, and here’s hoping you’ll feel better tomorrow! Also: I’ve got a decant in the pipeline for you; let me know your current info at kclberry at the land of net(no space)scape …(one dot)net.
Glad you came out ok. We just have the influenza one left.
Good for you! I am getting my first this week and my next one next month…so I am doing the slow route 🙂
Ginger Bickie is Mine
This formerly ultra-rare item hove into view. Sadly, the kind nst tip about Holt Renfrew was a washout. First, I was told at the Vancouver branch, with a shrug, that it might turn up next month, no offer to put one aside for me. I was then told on the phone that since I had not made TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS in purchases in the last six months with them I couldn’t buy it as a cts or whatever it was called.
Happily, I found out that Jo Malone has a standalone store in the suburbs. Not only were they open this weekend and had an early shipment of this “holiday item”, they were more than happy to sell it to me before the official November 1 launch. The SA packed it in a pretty box with a cloth bag, and added a couple of samples.
Faith in retail restored!
Holt’s isn’t the place to have your faith in retail restored. 🙂 I had a similar experience there with the Shalimar MI, though they did at least offer to put me on a waitlist. I checked my phone, found it on the Guerlain website, ordered it, and had it much earlier than I’d have ever gotten it from Holt’s.
Fortunately there are a number of Jo Malone standalone stores in and very close to town — glad you found one!
$2000! Ha.
So glad you got your bottle.
This is a good challenge. I am doing “think fast.”
1. No. 19 parfum
2. (tip o’the hat to Meredifay) Dune parfum
3. Way fantastic: Jean-Paul Guerlain creates a bespoke edp for me based on Mahora, but with all the notes “dialed up.”
SotD L’Heure Attendue. Hope all my NST pals have a safe night of rest and a good start to your week.
You smell lovely, l’HA is so pretty.
