French niche line Parfums de Marly has launched Althaïr, a new unisex vanilla fragrance.
Parfums de Marly presents Althaïr. A singular, contrasted new trail that honors the woody-vanilla-amber fragrance family. An expression of self-confidence that becomes addictive and seduces men as well as women.
Warm and fresh, gourmand and light.
Althaïr is a modern ode to a universal ingredient of perfumery, which the Maison selected in the most natural and noble quality available: Bourbon vanilla from Madagascar. A direct descendant of the vanilla introduced in France under the reign of Louis XV.
Althaïr was developed by perfumers Hamid Merati-Kashani and Ilias Ermenidis. Additional notes include orange blossom, bergamot, cinnamon, elemi, guaiac wood, ambrox, praline and musk.
Parfums de Marly Althaïr is available in 75 ($250) or 125 ($350) ml Eau de Parfum.

I have to admit, after 17 years treating addicts, “addictive” is an adjective that makes me want to avoid whatever the word is supposed to be describing. But since almost all new scents come out with that word in the ad copy somewhere, guess I need to loosen up a little.
I think you have a valid point about “addictive” being a bad word choice.
FFS, why not use mesmerizing?
I’m afraid that’s a hopeless battle…
