A pretty, pretty, pretty new bottle of Shalini Parfum Iris Lumière: the Aurora flacon. "Shalini Parfum is pleased to announce the launch of The Aurora flacon on May 2023, a limited edition flacon for Iris Lumière, the fifth fragrance in the collection of the opulent Pure Parfums De Extraits. This series is created with Master Perfumer Maurice Roucel and is inspired by the Moods and Passions of the soul." $1,100 (oops! and it's probably going to evaporate through that bulb atomizer anyway) for a signed and numbered (11 were made) 100 ml Parfum at Saks.

Ooh that bottle! What’s the word for it? Yes, pretty. I am currently at a scent-forbidden conference, but rebelled and visited Etiket to buy a bottle, instead of one of the sessions.
Oh fun, what did you get?

Nice, wear it in good health!
Well this was a ride! “Oh, how pretty, love this…ooo Maurice Roucel, think I recognize him…doot dee doo…$1,100.00?!? hahahaha”
Also, love ‘probably going to evaporate through the bulb anyway’ … $1,100.00 saved!
Yep. And even the 15 ml plain spray bottle is $300, so it’s not a cheap scent.
I got a sample of this sort of by accident, because it is never a good idea to sniff something that far outside the usual price range you like to spend. This is a wonderful Iris forward perfume, present, but not pushy, floral but unusual to my nose, which has not spent time in the environs where this might be found, and long lasting. And even without the lovely special edition bottle, it is too rich for my pocket book!
Same here!
Funny, the bottle looks altogether different on the Shalini website. Not that I’m shopping for it at that price regardless of its appearance!

That is a different one. I think it is also limited edition.
I certainly do not wish ill in a small brand, but I’m fascinated that Shalini still exists when quite a few niche brands from around that same time have folded. That makes me think they know something we don’t and that their pricing must be correct for their needs. I’ve heard the perfumes are lovely but that pricing has excluded me.
Right. I do not know enough about the logistics & economics of running a small brand. Always makes me sad that brands like DelRae are gone and others are still going…
Delrae in particular hurt. I’m lucky to have quite a few of them still but they’re such beautiful perfumes.
Yes. DelRae and Gobin Daude are the 2 brands I think of most often.
Never got to try Gobin Daude, for better or worse. 🥲
“Oops!” Indeed. LOL!!
