Indie perfume house Dawn Spencer Hurwitz has launched Tenderness, a new fragrance for Valentine's Day 2023.
Tenderness [was] inspired by the Celtic festival of Imbolc (meaning lamb’s milk and interestingly associated with the jasmine flower), which I have have had in my notebook for MANY years without realizing how I could best express it. Somehow, now in 2023, the feeling came together in a moment of clarity… the kind of courageous tenderness that is felt at the very opening of a new flower bud, the little sapling emerging from its seed while still in the dark ground, and the flow of milk to feed the newborn lambs…this is the feeling of Tenderness.
[...] In keeping with the concept of “Imbolc”, Tenderness incorporates a milk accord with soft vanilla, new buds of hawthorn, orris, and rose, a powdery dusting of heliotrope, jasmine and a jasmine powder accord. The result has been described as the scent of a baby’s breath … all milky and soft, and feeling like a soft blanket that holds you close with comfort. I love these descriptions and it’s just what I wanted it to feel like.
Dawn Spencer Hurwitz Tenderness is available in a variety of concentrations, sizes and formats, ($6 - $145) for more information see the website.
