Van Cleef & Arpels has launched 22 Vendôme, a new addition to the brand′s Collection Extraordinaire. 22 Vendôme is named for the brand's flagship boutique in Paris, recently renovated by the Jouin Manku design studio.
...On the stairwell, Art Deco-inspired roses are revealed in full bloom as they irresistibly attract the gaze. To celebrate this renovation, Van Cleef & Arpels decided to open a unique Salon des Parfums at 22, its historic birthplace.
A new olfactory creation imagined by the perfumer Quentin Bisch celebrates this momentous occasion: 22 Vendôme, a fragrance dedicated to the Maison’s historic address. Just as exclusive as each of the scents in the Collection Extraordinaire, this fragrance symbolizes the Maison's special bond with this location.
A jewel of roses
The emblematic Art Deco rose motifs of the Vendôme salons inspired perfumer Quentin Bisch for the creation of the fragrance. This unique floral blend, crafted like a jewel, emerges after a fruity opening that combines pear and bergamot essence. It unites with iris to create precious and elegant middle notes. At the base, patchouli and vetiver provide a truly modern chypre trail, while tonka bean adds an unexpected gourmand touch.
Van Cleef & Arpels 22 Vendôme is available in 75 ml Eau de Parfum.

This sounds terribly tempting, and the bottle is so lovely.
Really lovely…and perfect take on that wall in the boutique (link in text above).
This brand tends to make high quality sophisticated scents. This the first I have hear of combining rose with pear scents.
I think I have heard of rosewater pear deserts.
Have you ever noticed that every year there are a ton of new rose scents, AND a ton of articles declaring that rose scents are now updated back in style?
A little like declaring that black dresses or high batting average baseball players are back in style. When did they ever become unpopular?
Yes — rose is back, every year.
Rose + pear is also nothing new … Aerin Rose de Grasse, Lancome’s new version of Mille et Une Roses, just to name two.
After all the mentions of the rose decorations, rose wasn’t actually a listed note? My mind did not expect the jump from art deco roses to pear. But everything else in this collection has been lovely.
I did not read it that way…”a jewel of roses” united with iris is how I read it.
I expected roses as a note also.
There is no rose in it. It’s an iris scent.
Ok then, thanks irving!
Not at all. I have no idea why they had to bring the art deco inspired roses into the description, it’s unnecessary and confusing.
