Indie Canadian line Zoologist has launched Cow, a new unisex gourmand floral fragrance.
Lush green pastures tumble toward the horizon, arching beneath the imposing silhouette of a mountain range. Cumulus clouds roll across a bright blue sky, their massive shadows gliding over a peacefully grazing herd. In a corner of the meadow, a tiny calf braces quivering limbs and, with a mighty lurch, stumbles up to take its maiden steps. Its velvet snout prods, rooting at its mother, until the release of warm milk signals a satisfying welcome to this vast new world.
Zoologist Cow brings to mind a bucolic scene, a myriad of scents from Mother Nature’s nurturing bosom. Innocent florals sway among soft grasses, while apple gently sweetens the soft aroma of fresh milk. The result is a place both familiar and reassuring, where warm arms unfold to welcome us into a loving embrace. A place called home.
Cow was developed by perfumer Nathalie Feisthauer. Additional notes include sage, lily of the valley, heliotrope, violet, jasmine, cedar, vetiver, benzoin, musks and amber.
Zoologist Cow will available in 10 or 60 ml Extrait de Parfum; the limited edition 60 ml collector bottle shown just above can be found now at Essenza Nobile in Germany, €165. The "regular" bottles are due to launch in late spring.

Interesting notes.
Zoologist really do make some lovely fragrances.
And that picture on the bottle made me laugh out loud ?
The bottle is great.
Okay, that LE bottle is adorable! FYI, Seahorse is used in the paragraph after the the marketing blurb. ?
Thank you, fixed — all the rest of that sentence was up to date!
I don’t see Cow on the website yet. I loved the OG Dragonfly, but I waited too long! Can anyone compare the 2021 version to the original?
It is not on their website, correct — it does not launch until “late spring”, whatever that means, but Essenza Nobile has the LE bottle now.
There are reviews on the Fragrantica site that compare the two Dragonfly scents. I found the remix somewhat distasteful (although opinions obviously vary) due to the inclusion of wet, earthy notes as compared to the original, which was stunningly beautiful and in my top 5 favorite fragrances.
I also love the original. I have a few drops of a sample left. I guess I will order a sample of the new one, but I don’t have I hopes.
I am happy to have a FB of the original!
I missed out on a bottle of the original too, I liked it so much.
I’m not sure about inclusion of a milk note. Is there another perfume where a milk note is present and works? But a calming, bucolic scent has a certain appeal
I sort of think they should have tapped Diane St Clair for this. After all, she is the queen of butter who cares for her brown special milk cows line they are her children!!
Iirc Hummingbird has a cream note. Lann-ael is my favorite milk note perfume, it smells like fancy French Froot loops with milk.
Wow. A perfume named cow. I need to try this for the gutsy and hilarious name. The notes sound nice too. I like “creamy” notes so am curios about the milk note. And it should be nice with the heliotrope.
Just imagine someone asking what you’re wearing?
A COW!! Hahahaha
If milky means Narciso EDP or Feu d’Issey, Zoologist Cow is most welcome.
A friend of mine was wearing this gorgeous perfume that smelled sooo good on Her, oriental in a perfume-y subtle oriental way, milky, sweet…. Loved it. Asked what was that She was wearing? She took a pic of it for me and it was a Narcisso cube for sure. But I am not sure if it was white or “beige” though… It did smell milky and if that’s what Cow is – I’m in!!
Went on the Zoologist website to purchase but was not there yet… I’m in tough. As a kid I collected everything cow-related: figurines, pictures, keychains etc… Plus this cow in the drawing looks so traditional European ?
I will have to sample this as I do everything from Zoologist but I haven’t smelled one I really like since Bee.
I can see it now…
Friend: Ooh you smell nice! What are you wearing?
Me: Cow.
(My friend looks at me, turns around and stomps off. )
