A quick PSA: I am leaving Saturday for a family beach vacation (I've been to the beach already this year, but this is the first time my extended family is gathering in one place since 2019). I'll be gone through next Saturday. Things will be even lazier around here than usual, so bear with me.
Meanwhile, 6 questions. As always, answer as many or as few as you like, or just talk about something else.
1. What fragrance are you wearing today?
2. What's the next fragrance you'd like to try?
3. Do you wear fragrance every day, or do you take breaks, or ...?
4. Is your current collection too small, too big or just right?
5. We haven't done a pandemic poll since Memorial Day. If you'd like to share how your area is doing with Covid-19, or how the pandemic is affecting you lately, please do.
6. Share something wonderful with us! It can be anything — the most fun thing you did this summer (or winter), something delicious you ate, your latest binge-worthy TV series, the last good book you read, any fabulous news you recently received — really, anything.

1. SOTM is a bit of Gris Claire lingering on my pjs from last night.
2. I don’t have much of a to-sniff list these days. I still have a handful of DSH samples to work my way through, when it feels right. The hot weather wasn’t mixing well with the gourmande/chocolate/coffee scents I purchased to sample!
3. I intend to wear something most days, but I don’t always get around to it. When I’m working out in the morning after breakfast, I usually wait until after that and my shower to choose something. And then there’s the days when I don’t get around to it all until 4 in the afternoon! But usually I smell nice for at least a little while before I go to bed. 😀
4. I have no concerns about the size of my collection as long as the scents I have are still loved and enjoyed. There’s a few more bottles I wouldn’t mind adding to the collection some day, so I guess it could get a bit bigger.
5. Oregon has Delta wildfire to add to the usual kind of wildfire right now, with higher rates than we’ve had ever in the pandemic. But nothing is closed down this time. Masks are required indoors. Otherwise, I don’t see people changing their lives very much. Looks like school will start in-person in a few weeks, but who knows.
6. I know I’m very late to the party, but Mr. Spicebomb and I have been enjoying Poldark on Prime.
It’s *never* too late to start enjoying a show! I watched some Agatha Christie adaptations from the 1970s earlier this year
I was looking for something like that! I’ve listened to a few dozen Poirot books this year, and it put me in the mood. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find anything on the services we have. Might have to put in a request for the DVDs from our library.
Oh if you’re in a Christie mood I’ve really enjoyed the podcast “All About Agatha”
Thank you! I’ll look into it!
The Poirot series with David Suchet are available on Youtube.
Good to know!
“the usual kind of wildfire”
this is so sad, how it’s become a thing that’s expected 🙁 stay safe!
I don’t want to speak for others in the region, but the shifting light of late August now triggers an expectation of poor air quality in me. I saw a red sun the other morning and thought, “yup, here we go again.”
Yes, for me it’s starting to feel like a normal seasonal thing to pull out the air purifier and our stash of N95 masks around this time of year.
We purchase multiples of our furnace filters every time we need to replace one now, knowing that when the smoke rolls through, we’ll need to toss it and put in one that’s fresh.
I’ve watched all of Poldark but my husband decided to watch it recently so I’m watching with him. Such a great show, the scenery is so gorgeous.
Yes, I started this one alone, and then after half-watching a few episodes with me, Mr. Spicebomb went back to the missed episodes so he could keep up!
I love the scenery, too. I grew up on the Oregon coast, and it’s different, but there’s something so wonderful and nostalgic to see the cliffs and the waves and countryside all together like that!
1. SOTD is St. Julep. I’ve just about finished this sample, thankfully when I bought my full bottle of slow explosions, they included another sample!
2. I’m thinking about getting another sample kit but I can’t quite decide from where. Anybody have any recommendations? I like rose scents, amber scents and the aforementioned St julep.
3. I’ve been making a conscious effort to wear perfume more often but I definitely take breaks (I have some friends who are very sensitive to scent).
I trust that Julep is the patron saint of cool drinks on the patio. Um, at a wild guess how about a sample set from Parfums de Rosine? Rose choices galore.
Ooh, that sounds wonderful!
I got this not long ago and they are all very nice! It would be a great choice? also very fairly priced.
Annie, which is your favourite? That’s the difficult bit.. I now would like to buy one (and they come in the prettiest bottles) but cannot decide.
Could not decide!
Masque Milano sample set because it includes such a gorgeous beauty called Tango. Perfect for amber lovers!! And the first fragrance that turned me on to amber.
Ooh I will look into that too! I do love a good amber!
I highly recommend En Voyage perfumes for samples of beautiful perfumes. Here’s a link
https://www.envoyageperfumes.com/collections/perfumes-only/products/the-odyssey-sample-collection
This looks like a fun collection!
1. I opened the cabinet in which I keep some of my scents and it smelled so delicious that I tried to figure out exactly which scent I was smelling, because that was what I wanted to wear. Of course it wasn’t any one thing, it was the accumulated absorption of decades, so I grabbed Bulgari Omnia and wore that — a pretty good substitute.
2. I’ve been so busy trying to burn through all the samples I have that I haven’t made a list of things I’d like to try. I’ll know it when I see it.
3. Every day, often multiple times per day.
4. In all honesty it’s much too big: there’s no way I could ever get through it in this lifetime, but I *have* been collecting for almost 40 years. Occasionally I wonder what will become of it when I die.
5. The provincial government rescinded the state of emergency about three weeks ago and it was too soon: the (admittedly quite small) numbers have been slowly but steadily climbing. However, so many people are vaccinated that there have been no ICU hospitalizations and no deaths in the meantime, so I guess that’s good. (My husband and I are still wearing masks and all the other recommended precautions, even though the majority of people aren’t.)
6. Maybe you’re not a cat person but I think this is still pretty wonderful: imagine having anyone or anything look at you with this level of adoration. https://www.reddit.com/r/aww/comments/p8ab8a/the_way_my_new_kitten_was_looking_at_my_husband (The kitten has predictably taken complete possession of him. Some cats are standoffish, some spread their love promiscuously, and some, like this one, latch on to one person forever. It’s so charming.)
If a perfume called “Omnia” can’t cover the scent of a bunch of perfumes none of them could…! And a big “aww” to the adoring kitten.
I’ve already reapplied the Omnia twice today so I get another hit of that extraordinary top note, that whirlwind of blurred spices (and also because I do wash my hands from time to time). I feel bad for the people who can’t smell it, because it’s entirely fascinating.
I sometimes wonder about the eventual fate of my scent collection when I die, too! I’ve had MANY conversations with Mr. Spicebomb about the right way to dispose of his baseball card and sports memorabilia collection, should it fall into my hands. He has rules. 😀 I think my first hope would be that my fragrances would go to people who will enjoy them. I don’t think of it as a financial investment to pass along, although I suppose technically it is to some extent.
I collect antique/vintage Christmas ornaments, plus many newer ones. Except for one large box of extremely valuable items, my hubby has been instructed to bring the ornaments to my memorial and let everyone pick a memento. I have quite a few things from friends/ family who are gone. I remember them every time I decorate the tree. I love the idea of others doing the same of me.
What a wonderful idea! Ornaments are a great way to share memories, too. I try to buy one ornament every year, preferably attached to a trip or other memorable outing. It makes me so happy to unwrap them each year and have those mementos.
LOVE that cat photo. Our current cat is definitely my husband’s, which is nice because our previous 3 were mine. (OK, I miss having ‘my’ cat, but it’s nice for him to finally have one that is ‘his’.) Our morning ritual is: cat comes to bed, worships my husband (purr, meow, snuggle, head butt) and I get up to feed the cat. I am just the servant, lol.
That sounds a lot like our ritual. Interspersed is a short morning period on the couch where she wants me to pet or brush her. Then she goes back to my husband and basically follows him all day.
I have a mirrored box where I keep sample and small bottles. I topped it with surgical masks I took out of their box, placed on top of samples/small bottles and close the mirrored lid. When I need a new mask, it’s deliciously scented with an amalgam of those perfumes. It makes mask wearing a joy!!
I don’t have a mirrored box but I do have lots of shoeboxes and the like, and I am absolutely going to start doing this! I don’t know why it never occurred to me before but I’m putting one together tonight. Thanks for the idea!
This kitten is adorable. Our cat is very aloof and generally ignores us. She has been paying slightly more attention to us since she went on the diet and is getting less food.
Love the photo.
That kitten! ?
Cute kitty! The comments were great – “The kitten has adopted a human.”
Thank you, thank you for still wearing masks. We’ve just completed a tour of the province west of the Cascades, and I can safely report that NO ONE except me and my family are wearing them. (Here in Vancouver, yes, more people do, thankfully.) Haida Gwaii, Tofino / Ucluelet, northern Vancouver Island, Fraser Valley, and Whistler…no one but us wearing masks. Kid and I were the weirdos on the whitewater rafting shuttle today, wearing masks. (Probably told this before, but:) I had a woman in the b&b in Alert Bay tell me that I could take off my mask because she’s fully vaccinated. I’m like, so am I and the rest of my family, but you seem to misunderstand vaccines. Even though we’re all fully vaccinated, you could give me the virus and I could give it to you. I don’t want the virus and I don’t want to give it to you.
1. I’m wearing some leftover Cuir d’Ange from last night.
2. I have a huge to try list! I am a long time perfume wearer and lover, but only got down the rabbit hole in March 2020. I’ve ordered a lot of samples, but I dream of leisurely wandering around stores smelling things.
3. I take breaks. I’m a freelance classical musician and most orchestras have a very strict no smell policies so I never wear anything at work.
4. I think my collection is just right to a little small. I don’t necessarily want to have more than I do, but there are categories of fragrances that I haven’t explored yet and might really enjoy and want a bottle! So far, I’ve brought in many more samples than bottles and I’d like to stay that way.
5. I am also in Oregon and feeling nervous about the pandemic and the fires. Mr. Birdy and I planned our wedding for the beginning of October, thinking that everyone would be vaccinated and we could have a fairly worry free celebration…. To keep my mind off things I obsessively overthink which perfume I want to wear while getting married!
6. The most recent Louise Penny novel has a scene where Reine-Marie is sampling all the men’s fragrance offerings at a department store perfume counter to find the one she and Armand smelled at a murder scene. It was very entertaining.
Samples = waiting for true love.
Yes!
I’m so sorry about your wedding anxieties! I keep thinking back to May and June when everything seemed to be moving in the right direction. There was a moment when I thought I could make plans again.
Thanks! We will still have the wedding on our original date, but switch to an outdoor (backyard) venue and plan a second reception with our family in the midwest for next summer so they don’t feel obligated to travel. Luckily, we have a supportive and flexible family!
Oh, I’m glad you have a plan everyone feels good about! Outdoor in October. Could be exciting. 😀
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Let us know when you decide on a few candidates for your perfume.
Thank you!
What is on your short list for your wedding day?
And #6, how fun…I had given up on that series but that makes me want to read the latest.
My usual go-to is Bottega Veneta, but I might take this opportunity to get a few more sample sets and see if there’s anything that feels particularly wedding-y!
I had fun at a Chanel counter before my wedding. The SAs were especially attentive, trying to talk me into an Exclusif wedding scent. 😀
Oh, good luck with the wedding! Mr. Ockeghem (the professional musician in our family) spent all his time on the music and musicians for our wedding, just over 25 years ago, and I gave no thought to the scent all those years ago. (Not even sure if I wore a scent! Back then I only owned Jil Sander and…maybe…Acqua di Gio.) Somehow the music seemed more the big thing…especially for him.
All these years later, all I remember is that my unbalanced aunt (an opera singer) turned up unrehearsed, and the rest of the music was good. And we’re still married, all these years later. 🙂
1. It’s a coolish day (and there might be rain, yay!) and wearing DS & Durga Radio Bomday.
2. Arquiste Boutonnière – my sample is gone and just might need some more.
3. I usually wear something light every day at home, as I can re-spritz wheneverI like. We’re back at work in a couple of weeks and am trying to think of low-key yet enduring choices – or may just bring in some scented handcream if coworkers are going to be anti-scent.
4. Going with “just right”, although I could whittle down my decants somewhat.
5. Case counts are rising, and right in the middle of the forest fire zone to boot, which might in fact account for some of the lower vaccination rates.
6. Am enjoying “The Good Fight”, which I didn’t see back in 2016. Just finished “Please Like Me” and liked it enough I might re-watch it sometime.
This cloudy weather is a relief, isn’t it? We had wet roads this morning, but I missed whatever raindrops that fell. We definitely need more.
How do you like Boutonniére? I’ve seen some reviews mentioning similarities to Malle’s Eau de Magnolia, which I liked a lot when I tried it.
I loved Please Like Me. His current show – Everything’s Gonna Be Okay – is on Hulu. There are aspects that I think are better than PLM, and other aspects that I don’t like as much, but definitely worth a watch.
1. What fragrance are you wearing today?
Nothing as I’m planning a field trip to a small local perfumery today, Wild Coast Perfumery: https://www.wildcoastperfumes.com/
2. What’s the next fragrance you’d like to try? See above
3. Do you wear fragrance every day, or do you take breaks, or …?
I’ve taken a lot of breaks in the past six months due to stress and anxiety, but now that’s dropping and I’m feeling my mojo come back, yay!
4. Is your current collection too small, too big or just right?
It is crazy too big. Need to do some aggressive selling of backups/duplicates.
5. We haven’t done a pandemic poll since Memorial Day. If you’d like to share how your area is doing with Covid-19, or how the pandemic is affecting you lately, please do.
Cases are rising gradually, but since we have 75%+ vaccinated, the hospitalizations/deaths are low. I think this is a good sign that the virus is running its course and will eventually recede into an annual flu type situation. Unfortunately despite this situation, restrictions are increasing, which I firmly oppose.
6. Share something wonderful with us! It can be anything — the most fun thing you did this summer (or winter), something delicious you ate, your latest binge-worthy TV series, the last good book you read, any fabulous news you recently received — really, anything…
Picking wild blackberries on the side of the road and stuffing my face. 🙂
Cazaubon–we picked a bunch of wild blackberries near us last night. It feels so fun to pick free berries. I’m always looking for my favorite blackberry musk. DSH Muresque is certainly a favorite blackberry chypre.
I also picked some wild blackberries with my children. My little girl insisted on picking the best ones for mom, definitely will be the sweetest memories for me years from now!
1. Shalimar ETD. I find it much easier to wear that the EDP in warmer weather. Today we have a rainy day in the UK and feels a bit Autumnal already. I also have a spritz of I’m Home from Lush – nice cocoa + benzoin on one hand- rather comforting in small doses.
2. So many… Sultan Pasha ones sound amazing but the price is a bit daunting. Anything Dusita releases next.
3. Pretty much every day too.. except when work is too hectic and I am exhausted, forget to put anything on. I have to keep things subtle at work so minimal wear there. Nowadays perfume is just for my sensorial pleasure so spray mainly at home.
4. It is growing… but nothing too crazy.. they all fit in one shelf of my cupboard. I sold a few unloved ones lately.
I am so much into roses lately and have been thinking of buying one of the Rosines… but I can’t decide which one I like best. Maybe La Rose or one of the Ballerinas… or Secrets de Rose.
Which Rosine is your favourite?
5. I am worried about a wave in Autumn with the new delta variant… most things are back to normal now- not sure how good and idea that is and what the Autumn Winter will be like. I hope not too bad.
6. Last good film I watched was Andhadhun. Indian black comedy… really different. Recommend!
Sorry, wrong place!
Wanted to say, I love eating things you forage. Somehow it tastes so much better… blackberries are the yummiest thing
In the UK too, waving.
My favorites from Rosine are Rose Praline and Majalis.
Hi! ?
Majalis is really nice. Rose Praline I haven’t tried but sounds tempting Rose+chocolate!
I read some comparisons to Gourmand Coquin.
My faves from Rosine are Rose d’Amour, Rose d’Ete, and Clair Matin. I haven’t had a chance to try many — that was to have been part of our cancelled family trip to Paris last summer.
Oh I really hope you can plan it again soon… I’ve also been dreaming with a holiday in Paris, with perfume shopping and store visiting +++ in mind.
Un Zest de Rose is my favorite Rosine. It’s very summery. I also love Rose d’Homme but I’m not sure it’s still in production.
Have a fun day today! What a wonderful discovery. Glad your ‘fume mojo is coming back.
When we lived at the coast, we picked wild blackberries on probably the hottest day of the year. We got covered in scratches but they were the best thing ever. Worth every scratch!
The website for that perfumery is so beautiful!!! Sigh. Ocean and forests….
1) Comparing Reve Narcotique 1 and 2 from Sultan Pasha as I go through my samples
2) The next fragrance I’d like to try is whatever sample I grab from the infinite supply
3) I wear fragrance pretty much every day
4) My collection of samples is probably too big but bottles are limited to 2 shelves of a bookcase so that’s just right
5). I feel pretty good. I still have to wear a mask for work and on public transportation but other than that, most places here in Denver say it’s optional for people who are vaccinated
6) My brother wasn’t sure if he could go to a conference and surprised me by telling me on Thursday that he was in Colorado Springs so now he is visiting me post-conference for the weekend
Wow, have a great visit with your brother!
We had good tacos, then dunked our feet in the river at Confluence Park, then hard cider at a tasting room, ending with going to a Cajun restaurant.
1) SOTD: 4711 Lime and Nutmeg. This one is subtle but enjoyable.
2) Next fragrance: I’d like to try some of the Xinu fragrances. Pixel mentioned Copala yesterday and it sounded really interesting.
3. Every day? I wear it almost every day.
4. Current collection: I have more than I’ll ever use, but I plan to keep all the ones I enjoy and sell/swap a few.
5. Pandemic: Not good in Washington, but I hope we continue to work on vaccinations and masking and distancing and cleaning and don’t close everything again.
6. Something wonderful: a couple things – go outside. It helps so much. You don’t have to camp, but the camping trips we’ve taken this summer have brought us so much joy. And on a completely different note, after the Hitchcock poll, I looked up his movies and made plans to watch several. We watched Charade last night (not a Hitchcock, but I always thought it was – ha). Audrey Hepburn looked so incredibly elegant. Givenchy did all the clothing for her in that movie. I looked her up and was disconcerted to see that she died at 63. That’s my age… (well, that part isn’t wonderful, but Audrey was.)
I can send you some Xinu Copala if you like, ping me…
I love Audrey. She died far too young..
I think that’s a really good weekend night plan so I might follow your lead and watch Charade tonight. I watched this years ago but can’t remember much of it.
Oops, I also was under the impression Charade was Hitchcock, so included it on a list last week. I now see that I added it to our watchlist because it was recommended to me by Amazon Prime because I’d added Vertigo. Well, still want to watch it either way.
And I couldn’t agree more on the importance of getting outside. My almost-daily walks help my mood and mental health so much in addition to the benefit of exercise.
Charade is such a fun movie!
1. No scent yet (see #3)
2. Would like to sniff Vilhelm Chicago High, FM Synthetic Jungle, Kilian L’heure Verte
3. I take breaks, mostly not intentional. I tend to do cleaning (still working on the perpetual house clean-out) in the mornings and don’t like getting perfume on my cleaning gloves so I wait til after the day’s cleaning is done to put on perfume. Sometimes I forget.
4. The collection is too big, which doesn’t stop me from acquiring more. I’m really looking forward to getting the PERFUME CABINET done so I can see everything at once (well, everything for that season, anyway). Current status of the PERFUME CABINET: ordered magnets for the doors, they’re too strong, ordered replacements. Tested out 5 different riser systems (“cabinet spice organizers”), decided on one, ordered more of that one (supposed to arrive today), returned the rest. Once I get all the risers, and the smoke clears, I need to paint them because the color’s wrong. Maybe next week I’ll get to populate the cabinet!
5. Delta cases are rising, hospitalizations are up, indoor mask policies are back in place. Fine by me; even when masks were optional, I kept wearing mine when I was shopping out of courtesy to the workers.
6. Spent a few days in Big Sur last week. Soooooo relaxing. Took part in a falconry demonstration while I was there; got to have a Harris’s Hawk fly to my glove for food. Super cool.
Oh would love to see your ideas for the cabinet, this sounds like such an exciting project!!
It’s this cabinet:
https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/billy-oxberg-bookcase-birch-veneer-s79023409/
Hoping to get all these finishing touches done soon…
the PERFUME CABINET is fabulous — seriously that is my favorite Billy 🙂
I don’t like perfume on my cleaning gloves either!
Robin, enjoy your amazing family vacation time at the beach! ⛱
1. Wearing Guerlain AA Pamplelune.
2. I would love to try Chanel Paris-Edimbourg.
3. I usually wear perfumes everyday. However, depending on my mood and health, I may take short breaks from my main perfume collection. On those days, I rely on my scented shower products or body creams. Lately, I have been wearing mostly the BBW Essential Oil Body Mists, which are pretty light and relaxing. So I don’t really go completely scent free.
4. I think my collection is not too big compared to other perfumistas’ collections. However, every time I opened my perfume cabinet, I get pretty scared ?. But there is always a reasonable excuse to add more bottles to my collection ?.
5. Covid cases in New York are on the raise. I don’t even know on which level we are anymore. Masks have to be worn in restaurants when eating indoors, at entertainment places, on public transportation and health facilities. There are still lots of people wearing masks indoors in most places and also outdoors, myself included.
6. I have been enjoying my Yasso Sea Salt Caramel Greek yogurt bars.
❤ Thank you all for your well wishes yesterday. They are always very uplifting and encouraging ! I really hope to start feeling better soon.
We are in the path of hurricane Henry, which is expected to arrive later tonight. Crossing fingers we don’t lose power and everything goes well.
Have a happy and healthy weekend, everyone! ?
ha! I feel your #4. Sometimes I open my perfume cupboard and think “hello, my lovelies.” Other times I panic and think “this is completely wack-a-doodle.” 😀
Two months ago, I opened my perfume cabinet and by impulse, I put away many bottles for swaps and freebies. I am terrified now to go over that box again and find out that some, if not all the bottles end up in the cabinet again for my use! ?
I love those Yasso bars, too. Yum.
How is the healing going? I know it can feel slow, but I hope you’ll be feeling better soon.
The Yasso bars have become favorites for me this summer. Very yummy!
Thanks for asking. The healing of my lower back is going very slow. I am going thru more tests again next week, since the pain is getting worse. I know I have to be very patient, but I am feeling pretty down. Overall, I am a very healthy person, so it is not easy to deal with this whole thing. Looking forward to better times soon! I am very positive!
I am wishing you better times as soon as possible! Stay positive pl67.
(And thank you, I am indeed very happy to have everyone together at the beach. We have had crab cakes and walked into town for ice cream, and did a good bike ride today before the storm, so all is well.)
Thank you Robin!
So glad to hear you are having a fabulous, relaxing time. We only got non-stop rain in my area since last night. No winds at all. Now ready to face the next heat wave. Keep enjoy your vacation! ⛱
I have Yasso bars every night! No matter what season ☺
Can they check on your nerve damage?
I hope Henry isn’t too mean to you! Sending you hugs for the rough times you’ve been having.
Thank you, Sistine! I hope Henry doesn’t treat us too bad! Right now we are having a nice sunny afternoon.
I do the exact same thing when I look at my collection. You are not alone! I hope you turn the corner soon with your back injury, and also hope Henry dissipates quickly and moves through NYC super fast! ??
Thank you, Nancy! ?
1. What fragrance are you wearing today?
Cedre Sambac
I ordered a set of 4x travel spray Hermessences early this summer, Osmanthe Yunan was back in store, the other two were Iris Ukiyo-e and Brin reglisse.
2. What’s the next fragrance you’d like to try?
Dont know. I am good with what I have right now.
3. Do you wear fragrance every day, or do you take breaks, or …?
Used to be more than 2 a day.
Right now on average I guess 1 per day.
Sometimes 2 or 3 fragrances on one day, but sometimes i can go without for 2 days.
4. Is your current collection too small, too big or just right?
Just right
5. Covid-19
Not bad. Lots of folks getting their shots, but still approx 2400 positive test on average a day, here in the Netherlands. And still 600 people in hospital (including ICU).
So this could be better.
I had my shot in june. But I am still behaving carefully.
Avoiding crowded indoor events (i dont like those to begin with, so its not a punishment), and still wearing masks when I feel i cant distance enough…
Working from home is still the default by regulation, though some exceptions can be made. So I see co workers a bit more often now.
6. Share something wonderful.
The movie Wind River is quite good, but be warned, its not a happy story.
Also wonderful, my holiday starts soon. Counting down the days!
Oh
And I MISS YOU GUYS!!!!!!
But work got even more hectic (because of holidays…less employees but still deadlines to be met).
mmmm, you smell wonderful. I wore Cedre Sambac a few days ago when I found a spray sample I’d forgotten about. 🙂
Nice to see you again Jiji!
We miss you Jiji! Hope work will get less hectic for you.
hey, fragrance friends! happy weekend to you 🙂
1. SotD = Kelly Caleche, with thanks to the lovely NSTer who shared their bottle with me. KC is a new scent for my nose. So far it reminds me of Osmanthe Yunnan (gently leathery floral) though KC is less transparent and feels more polished and forward. I am enjoying it very much.
2. Would like to try Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia because BWFs are my BFFs.
3. Wear scent almost every day, though if I have a headache I take a break.
4. Current collection feels a little too big because the perfume cupboard is a bit disorganized at the moment. I have sent a few bottles to new homes lately, so it is getting better. Also recently reorg’d the sample stash and found some forgotten lovelies that deserve a wearing or two. I’m proud of myself as I think it’s been almost two years since I bought samples.
5. Pandemic life is much the same as it ever was for me. I wear a mask in public indoor spaces, usually don’t bother when outdoors unless I will be in close proximity to someone for more than a few minutes.
School starts on Monday, students will be in the classroom full-time (wearing masks) or attending a virtual academy (if their family chooses that option). I’m happy (ecstatic at times!) that I will be back in the classroom with my little learners again, but I get choked up when I think of all they’ve missed.
6. Some wonderful things . . . last night I went to an outdoor concert in the park to hear my city’s municipal band play. First one since 2019!
Take good care, everybody!
What a coincidence, I just saw an add for the Gucci gardenia just before reading your comment. 🙂
I was kinda smitten with the gucci ambrosia di fiori btw. Would not mind having it fall into my lap. i love how gucci brings back the BWF (but very mass friendly and wearable of course..though there is nothing wrong with that)
an ad… Not an add
it was a television commercial btw…
Their clothes and shoes are ridiculously over priced of course like all designer things… But cant help eyeing those classic Gucci loafers (for when i win the lottery… ?
I adore loafers! tho mine are never going to be Gucci 🙂
I do like how Gucci perfumes are mass friendly and very wearable. I liked Bloom when I tried it, and since then have made a point to try their new scents.
Our first day of school is also on Monday. I hope you have an amazing day!
first day virtual hugs to you, sistine! fingers crossed it will be wonderful in many ways for both of us 🙂
You smell great 🙂
agree! KC is a winner. 🙂
1. What fragrance are you wearing today?
SL Vetiver Oriental, because I love it and saw it mentioned a couple of times in yesterday’s post.
2. What’s the next fragrance you’d like to try?
I’m fine with what I have right now. So far behind new releases, there’s no hope of catching up. Although, I’d love to try Spell 125 from Papillon Perfumes..!
3. Do you wear fragrance every day, or do you take breaks, or …? I
I usually wear something everyday except for the past couple of weeks, because of some personal upheavals. Back to daily wear now, unless I’m going to be in a bear/cougar area.
4. Is your current collection too small, too big or just right?
Just right, although I do have some I should off load since I only reach for them occasionally.
5. We haven’t done a pandemic poll since Memorial Day. If you’d like to share how your area is doing with Covid-19, or how the pandemic is affecting you lately, please do.
I’m currently in one of the top 10 states for vaccination (about 60%), but I sure wish it was higher. Travel nursing is quite busy, as it has been for the last year and a half. I’m a little burned out after 6 months is Arizona on a covid contract and 3 months in the Seattle/Tacoma are with its unique patient population. Not planning on working again until the end of September or beginning of October. Still masking whenever I’m around other people, using public restrooms, etc. I’m of course concerned about Delta, but more worried about what may be coming down the pike.
6. Share something wonderful with us! It can be anything — the most fun thing you did this summer (or winter), something delicious you ate, your latest binge-worthy TV series, the last good book you read, any fabulous news you recently received — really, anything.
I very happy to take some time off and just dawdle around in my van. I’ve met some amazing people doing this and I don’t regret embarking on this journey whatsoever. I love watching my dog scamper around on beaches, in woods, and generally make everyone she meets smile. Even confirmed dog haters love her as evidenced by an old guy who was walking towards us and said, “I don’t like dogs, keep her away from me!” So I put her on a sit/stay so he could pass by and she just sat there, gazing adoringly up at him, big smile on her face and tail going a mile a minute. His response-“ Well, I guess this one’s not so bad” and even let her lick his hand. ?
I would be truly overjoyed if we could have a nice long gentle rain all over the world, the complete dousing of forest fires, the end of covid, and people stopped killing each other. Too much to ask for, I know…
Enjoy your break, Deva, well deserved! ?
Spell 125 is great btw, thats the only bottle id like to add to my collection anytime, but I am in no hurry… No longer have the buying itch ?
Thank you! Everyone I’ve “talked” to who has tried Spell 125 has seemed to really enjoy it, so I’m hopeful I will track down a sample soon. I really love that perfume house ?
Also, I wanted to link this short YouTube for people who are feeling like we are stuck in covid limbo. I really encourage folks to research from reputable sites and practitioners. I know a lot of people are just so sick and tired of it, they just want to bury their head in the sand, which is understandable. Knowledge is power, and in a time where we all feel powerless and victimized by covid, it’s good to have an arsenal of info. I’ve linked a short bio, and a quick video that puts a lot of things into perspective. Feel free to delete Robin, if you fell it necessary.

Good to hear from you, Deva. Thank you very much for the link, very sensible perspective.
“Sensible” has been an endangered species here in US in the last year and a half. ?
Your good thing is a great thing. I’m glad you and T-Rex are doing so well!!!
Thank you, hope you and yours are well, too. I’m very out of touch here, so I’ve missed a lot of personal updates. Will be playing catch up
for weeks, I’m sure.
1. AG Nuit Etoilee EDP
2. Nicolai Cap Neroli
3. Nope.
4. Too big!
5. Can’t go there. Used up all my covid energy in the past two months.
6. Good things: The life changing loaf of bread from the mynewroots website.
The Turkish miniseries Ethos on Netflix. Honestly, this is female character driven and has such HEART. Excellent.
Have a lovely weekend!
That bread recipe looks fantastic! I need to get to the store on Monday and will get the ingredients. Thank you!
Hi NL
I hope you see this. Just one thing about the bread recipe: depending on how dry your oats are, you may need to use more water. I find I sometimes need to use up to 2 1/4 cups instead of the 1 1/2 C the recipe mentions. You want the mixture wet enough to become gloopy over the 2 hours. I also need to bake it longer (sometimes 1h15 mins), but I find I ALWAYS need to bake things longer than the recipes say. I must have an oven that runs low?
Hi Amyitis! Thanks for the tip. I was reading through the plethora of comments and noticed this. Turns out I have every I need except psyllium powder. Will probably soak it tomorrow and bake it off Tuesday.
1. What fragrance are you wearing today? Right now, eau de paint, as the painters are here finishing up the multi-room interior painting projects today! So far, it all looks wonderful, I’m so happy! Later, probably Chanel No. 19 or Silences, I’m in the mood for a strong green.
2. What’s the next fragrance you’d like to try? I’d like to re-try Penhaligon’s The Revenge of Duchess Blanche.
3. Do you wear fragrance every day, or do you take breaks, or …? I take breaks, sometimes unplanned if I rush out the door to work and forget to spritz something, now that my workplace is back to mostly in-person. And I took home my work stash of fragrance months ago.
4. Is your current collection too small, too big or just right? Oh, dear, it’s clearly too big. Once I’m able to put my house back together and all my young adult children have moved out again, I’ll cull the herd.
5. Pandemic update: I feel safe, as I’m fully vaccinated, and my workplace requires both that and masks. I’m distressed, though, at the rise in serious infections among children and other vulnerable people, the continuing disruption of daily life, and the terrible ongoing burden on healthcare workers.
6. Something wonderful: See #1 — the inside of my house is almost repainted, after last year’s plumbing disaster, interior demolition, and plaster repairs! We are slowly moving furniture back into rooms and reorganizing several spaces. It will take a while, but it’s huge progress!
Such happy news about your house — I am glad for you!
1. SOTD: Glossier You
2. House of Oud What About Pop. The name is terrible, IMO, but a caramel popcorn note? Must try!
3. I wear fragrance every day unless I don’t feel well or I have a doctor or dentist appointment…not that I’ve been able to have one of those for a while!
4. Too big. I tried to pare it down when I moved last year, but didn’t have much success.
5. I’m in Santa Fe and things are mostly normal. Masks are recommended but not required if you have been fully vaccinated, though I still wear one because I don’t want to take unnecessary risks, especially since I help take care of my elderly in-laws.
6. My happy news is that my brother and I are surprising our dad for his 75th birthday in October. I don’t feel great about traveling right now, but I haven’t seen my brother in 3 years and my dad in two, plus my dad is suffering from Lewy body dementia. It hasn’t progressed far yet, but I want to make sure to see him while he still remembers who we are.
I hope things are calmer by October when you travel.
You smell wonderful! I really need a bottle of that one. I hope the surprise party is great fun! We did that exact thing for my dad 2 years ago and he was truly touched.
Having lost both my Mother and Father in 2019, all I can say is, don’t miss any chance to be with your parents, especially when they are older. I was blessed in that COVID had not come along, but I feel so happy that you and your brother are at least going to try to do this.
Hi NST, long time no see!
1. What fragrance are you wearing today?
Ta’if – it has become my favourite over the past half year since I bought my bottle, lately I have always chosen this one when going out.
2. What’s the next fragrance you’d like to try?
Amouage Beloved, and I’m also eyeing the Olfactive Studio discovery set. I’m a currently inactive but trained photographer, so it’s a must, right?
3. Do you wear fragrance every day, or do you take breaks, or …?
Every day!
4. Is your current collection too small, too big or just right?
The size is right but the contents need optimization. I have around 20 bottles, but there are 4-5 that I barely ever reach for, and I would like to get some new ones that I feel I would use up much more easily. So it will be an upcoming project to sell & acquire.
5. We haven’t done a pandemic poll since Memorial Day. If you’d like to share how your area is doing with Covid-19, or how the pandemic is affecting you lately, please do.
Basically no restrictions at the moment, but there are signs of the new wave coming. I’m fully vaccinated, as is my family so I’m hoping that with a little caution and diligence everyone will be fine.
6. Share something wonderful with us! It can be anything — the most fun thing you did this summer (or winter), something delicious you ate, your latest binge-worthy TV series, the last good book you read, any fabulous news you recently received — really, anything.
Pistachio ice cream is the absolute best and I had the pleasure of having some today.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
Yes yes yes to your #6!
1. Sample day! I’m trying out Mxxx by Eris Parfums. Really well done, cozy. Yesterday for the CP I wore Neroli Portofino, which finally convinced me on neroli.
2. Next fragrance thing to try/buy is some Serge Lutens backups, since apparently the entire brand isn’t going to be sold in the US anymore. Keeping an eye on the discounters.
3. Wear perfume every day unless I’m sick. Last time I took a break was a film festival I went to in 2019 because I’d be right next to people all day in a humid environment, I’m planning on going back this year so I might take a break then. But it’s part of my regular routine.
4. I always think it’s way too big until I see collection pictures on facebook/reddit groups that are just ridiculous.
6. I read Once There Were Wolves by Charlotte McConaghy and it was just fantastic. I went out and bought her previous novel the next day.
The entire SL brand won’t be sold in the US anymore? That is quite shocking!!
I can’t find an announcement or anything but people are talking on youtube and other places like it’s a fact…
Just checked Saks online and they only have a few makeup items listed. No fragrance. ?
That is quite horrific news about Lutens! I wonder if their website will still ship to the US.
I am wondering the same. I would be forced to get the travel sprays of Iris Silver Mist, if they are not going to ship to the US anymore
Just poked around at the website – I think the website is open for business with USA customers, but I did not finalize a sale.
pm
Recommend
I am so behind on the Rosines that I could not say…but I think Jessica has smelled nearly all of them.
1. No scent yet, but I wanted to work my way thru a couple of TRNP samples. Her samples are so generous – you end up with 3 ml of perfume in a sample!!!
2. Curious about Spell 125, and that TRNP shop is open again, a couple of her offerings. I also have some vintage Samsara on its way to me, so there is that. And there are a couple of new Sultan Pashas I am eyeing.
3. I wear perfume everyday. A few of fragrances any my family members (allergies, too much Oud), so I try to wear those less.
4. My collection is ready for annual pruning. I pruned before beginning of summer, but a chickened out on a few bottles and pulled the listings off. Need to revisit and prune baby prune.
5. My family is still on high degree of restrictions, way more than our county or state. I am scared to send kids to school, so they are doing remote learning for now. Don’t remember last time we ate at the restaurant or last time I went grocery shopping, not to mention went into a store for something frivolous like perfume. I am getting tired of my own cooking or of my inability to go into a store and chose an fruit I want, rather than having someone else chose it for me. We are gonna work remote till Jan, already officially announced.
6. I have discovered new ice cream – Mcconnells Marionberry and lemon. I am not a big ice cream person, but this one – you can really taste the berries and it is less sweet than a lot of other ice creams. I have also been working my way thru David Leibovitz’s recipes, focusing mainly on sweets, and finding a lot of interesting recipes.
You called out one I forgot that I’d like to try…Spell 125. One really can’t go wrong with her fragrances. Same for David Lebovitz recipes. His banana bread or cake recipe is one of my go to’s. Well, one of them, anyway!
His apple cake for me!!
If you have time…are you a fan of his French Apple Cake, Apple Calvados Cake, Apple Date Cake, German Apple Almond Cake or the Apple Spice Cake?
Although I’m sure they are all superb.
1) commando but will likely slap on some Beautiful Magnolia cream I treated myself to yesterday.
2) any I may have not smelled from Diptyque
3) no not everyday
4) it’s just fine..I only want one perfume..for some years now..Heure d’ Nuit..I hope it happens one day darn it.
5) so over discussing that topic lol
6) Crumbl Cookies..so dam good. Just watch the video they have on their website. Lol. Unbelievably delicious.
A Crumbl just opened near me – I’ll check it out next week and report!
Do report back. We have one here and I have to say…not a fan.? I find them too undercooked and doughy in the middle. I found myself quoting Paul Hollywood, “don’t eat that Mary, it’s raw.” Oh well, money and waistline saved.
Lol well Ethel M Chocolates would be my other recommendation lol
1. I was thinking about WHICH perfume I should wear… And then I thought I need to enhance my mood today… “Hand reaches for Chinatown”…
2. Oh oh oh… I have quite a few on my to try wishlist… Including The Time by THoO. Almost bought that yesterday btw but nope had to get more Chinatown instead:) ok to answer the question with a direct answer: Blue Tea by The Merchant of Venice. I am a huge tea lover so… And I just want to try anything from this house that sounds so legit!!
3. Ok so unless some emergency happens or such I DO wear fragrance every day. Even when just by myself at home!! My routine never changes and I enjoy my perfumes so dearly it’s just what I do.
4. Way too small!! Ehem ehem…
5. Let me reverse the question: what hasn’t it done to all of us?
6. My two year old came up to me in a happy moment today while playing with me and gave me a huge kiss all by herself!!
Have you tried Malabah from Penhaligon’s? That’s a tea perfume I enjoy quite a bit but don’t see mentioned much.
Enjoy your beach vacay Robin!
In Shalimar Philtre from last splitmeet. Really like it. This one is hard to find for some reason.
One delightful thing: reading in a hammock ?
Agree with the hammock!
I’ve been wondering about your issue from a week or so ago. Have you have any other visits from the man who parked his truck in your driveway? I fervently hope not!
Wait! I have the wrong person. It was Isabella. Good grief. Sorry!
No worries and I hope Isabella that parked van is gone!
I really like that one too. I found it right on the Guerlain website, thinking of a bottle when my decant is gone. You smell great!
Yes I saw it on the website too but I wanted a smaller size
The coolish weather with rain continues in the UK so I am in I Profumi di Firenze Vaniglia del Madagascar
I want to try the Comme des Garçons incense series in its entirety.
Everyday with the occasional missed day. Since the pandemic twice a day and in larger quantities
It would be too large but I store part of it on the balcony (currently winter fragrances) so I don’t see part of it and it remains manageable, what I have to curb but don’t have the willpower to is BUBs
Restrictions are much less severe but I still wear a mask in shops and on public transport as do most people
My plaster cast will be removed in two weeks. I initially thought it would be off in three weeks but it was simply changed for a new one at the follow-up visit, so it will have been five weeks and I’m sick of it.
Hang in there with the plaster cast, Aurora!
Thank you Tulipani, at least I’m getting lots of rest ?
1. SOTD is Aedes de Venustas edp, from a carded sample. I took the trouble awhile back to alphabetize my carded samples and have done nothing with them since then. So, I’m testing them all in order. I’ve also been listening through my music CDs. Yes, I still have them. I will never give up my physical media! I’m in the greatest hits section, which is in alphabetical order. Jethro Tull is playing. They stay in the collection! Incidentally, this CD is ordered under J, not T. Of course ?
2. I have several on my to try list: OJ Damask, Caron Pour Un Homme de Caron, Zoologist Chipmunk, Givenchy Vetyver, L’Artisan Passage Extreme.
3. I almost always wear perfume. There might be a couple of days out of the month that I miss though. I usually try out stuff before and after my shower.
4. My collection? Too large or small? I’m not sure I can be objective. My feelings are those of happiness and enjoyment laced with a bit of guilt some days. ?
5. ❤️❤️First off, thanks for the words of comfort yesterday about our trip. ❤️❤️ We are very fortunate to not have had any scares up until now. Not seeing the grands for awhile longer is a small concession when so many have endured such misery. Texas is in pretty bad shape with the causes being pretty well understood. I’ve been back to masking up, but I can’t bring myself to order groceries for curbside yet. I just go at the odd times. Looking forward to getting a booster when it’s my turn.
6. Good news: August is drawing to a close, and the daytime temp has not reached 100 degrees yet here. For Houston, that’s unheard of. Also, we found out that my son-in-law got a negative result from his rapid covid test. Yippee!!
That’s indeed great news!
Yes, I’m relieved. Hoping to hear the same news from DILs test.
Great news and I also still have CDs and DVDs!
Yep, we have DVDs too!
Plus cassette tapes for me. I may have a cassette player in the house but if I don’t I will chuck them or maybe I’ll have them transferred to CDs. It would be a shame to get rid of some of them.
I bought a player that can play vinyl, CDs, cassettes plus stream thru bluetooth
It’s pretty painless to get cassettes transferred to CD. I’m in the process of getting our family photos, slides, audio recordings and film moved to thumb drives and the cloud. It’s an expense, but worth it.
Yippee!
I organized my samples alphabetically a few months ago and just started working my way through them. CD collection twin, not getting rid of mine either.?
I still have my LPs too. Thinking I have a hoarding problem…
Terrific health news! As annoying and scary as a Covid scare might be, it sure beats testing positive.
Agreed!
I don’t recall if I responded but in any case, I’m glad you got the news before you met up with them!
Thanks hajusuuri, me too!
Good Evening from New England!
SOTD: Patchouli 24. A complete surprise of a gift!
Triggering Chipmunk tonight, tried and hard-core love for it. I’m interested in exploring Chris Rusak perfumes.
Daily spritzes of perfumes, body sprays, multiple times daily. I always carry a Decant in my purse, too. Night perfume application prior to bed for a good night’s rest.
My collection? I have perfumes from when I was 12. I’m a bit older now! The tj’s and vintage hunts multiplied my collection too much. And I blind bought some based on reviews and fear of discontinuation. I love my swaps! I love what I haven’t put away to unload at another time.
Covid. My friend who is a nurse is extremely concerned about our area, based on what she is seeing. Within 2 weeks, 2-3 covid patients to three floors again. That was last week. Half the patients are vaxxed and half of the patients on ventilators are vaxxed. Our state now gives your vaccination status to all of your doctors.
Great stuff:
Saw my friend last week, outside on a gorgeous lawn overlooking the water. My dog is struggling, but here. Last week’s cp was awesome! I saw “Beautiful Boy”. Henri changed course and just shook things up a bit. So much good! So much good!
Have a beautiful week everyone!
I have a set of samples from Chris Rusak (not the latest one). I’d be happy to send to you, let me know!
O my gosh! Yes, thank you!
Write to me at t851 at yahooooo!
Sorry, Nancy! I meant to wish you well and not hog your thread ?
Congratulations on your son-in-law testing negative. Good news! Sorry about the trip. These times aren’t easy.
No worries at all! I really enjoyed your upbeat post. ?
1) I’m wearing Lost California by West Third Brand today.
2) I’d like to try the Sana Jardin line, along with the Dirty Hinoki that Heretic is releasing later this fall.
3) I wear perfume almost every day, unless something unusual happens.
4) My collection certainly doesn’t need to get bigger, but I don’t think it’s too big. I’ve been having a hard time deciding what to wear lately but that would be happening if I had 3 bottles instead of 90.
5) COVID? Sigh. It’s not good here. We’re back to mask mandates. I am super apprehensive about the start of school on Monday and all of those youngsters being together, which is why my anxiety is through the roof. I’ve stopped going to my in person yoga classes even though I’m fully vaccinated because I don’t want to carry delta to the lovely people in the studio.
6) Lush’s Revive hair moisturizer smells amazing if you’re a jasmine fan. Or my dog, who keeps chewing on my hair if she can reach it when we sit together.
Best of luck with the start of school, sistine!
Are your students eligible to be vaccinated?
As to feeling apprehensive, it definitely feels like the first time I went back into the office. Each time I go in, I am anxious until I reach my desk and then it starts all over again as soon as I remove my mask inside my car on the way home.
I teach high school, so all the students have been eligible to be vaccinated. However, there’s less than 50% of teenagers vaccinated in our state.
Does your dog like jasmine in general or is this one special? I’m always so curious as to what my pets might be thinking when they seem especially interested in a perfume.
P.S. Robin, have a lovely vacation!
Thank you! So far so good.
1. What fragrance are you wearing today?
Pre-Sunday morning shower, I’m wearing a dab of Guerlain’s Oud Essentiel from a former colleague. She was a perfume fan, and we would regularly sniff each other in the office. She and her husband were getting seriously into ouds when she left.
2. What’s the next fragrance you’d like to try?
I’ve tried all the things that were on my immediate list – the latest from Dusita, Papillon, Francesca Bianchi, Amouage. All worth trying, but none have yet made it on to my buy list. Next up will be some of the newer Ormond Jaynes and Serge Lutens, I’m way behind on those.
3. Do you wear fragrance every day, or do you take breaks, or …?
Everyday, usually two – one from the collection for the work day, and a sample to explore in the evening. But, over the last year my skin has become very sensitive to absolutely everything. I’m now careful where I apply perfume, and have been using vast amounts of moisturiser prescribed by my doctor. It’s very annoying, but seems to be an ageing thing. At least I’ve lasted long enough to experience such things 🙂
4. Is your current collection too small, too big or just right?
All of the above, depending on the moment. So on average, it’s all good 🙂
5. We haven’t done a pandemic poll since Memorial Day. If you’d like to share how your area is doing with Covid-19, or how the pandemic is affecting you lately, please do.
We’ve had months of no community transmission, so we’ve had no restrictions that affect daily life for most of us. The borders have been closed since March 2020, no-one can come into the country without spending two weeks in an isolation hotel, which makes it difficult for the many people with family overseas. But despite the precautions, we’re now having our first outbreak of Delta, and we’re in lockdown. Our version is a real lockdown, no half measures, so we should be able to stop the spread.
6. Share something wonderful with us!
Spring is getting closer! The world might be in a mess right now, but there are still daffodils.
Happy spring!???
Loved your last line of #3 — that’s the spirit!
1. What fragrance are you wearing today?
Etro Messe di Minuit
2. What’s the next fragrance you’d like to try?
Zoologist Chipmunk!
3. Do you wear fragrance every day, or do you take breaks, or …?
Every day, unless I have a doctor’s appointment or something
4. Is your current collection too small, too big or just right?
It’s just right. I have a few things I never wear that should probably go and I’ve lost a couple decants to evaporation, but overall I’m content.
5. We haven’t done a pandemic poll since Memorial Day. If you’d like to share how your area is doing with Covid-19, or how the pandemic is affecting you lately, please do. Numbers are rising but I don’t notice much change in behavior. I wear a mask if I’m going to a busy place. I’m having to fight the familiar anxiety of last year again and that’s not fun.
6. Share something wonderful with us!
I’m cleared for cataract surgery! One eye this Monday, the other the following Monday. My vision is terrible and I’ve been seeing double in my right eye for months, it’s driving me crazy so I’m excited to fix the problem!
I hope the surgeries go well ringthing!
Good luck with the surgery and wishing you a speedy recovery!
You smell wonderful! Best of luck with the surgery and fingers crossed for better vision soon!
Good luck with the eye surgeries!
Good luck with the surgery!
Best wishes for the surgery.
Oh Messe di Minuit! I haven’t worn that for ages! I bought that at a time when it was a scandalous amount to spend on a fragrance! I have spent much more since then! It is so atmospheric.
Good luck with your eye surgery. My husband had both eyes done two years ago and he was astounded at the difference it made.
You smell wonderful; I want to try Chipmunk too; and my cataract surgery was wonderful. I went from being super nearsighted to “barely there eyeglasses. I chose implants that let me read without glasses, and I got a single contact for distance vision. I do need glasses to drive, mostly because of depth perception, and for watching TV/movies if I really need to see details, but otherwise I can do all daily activities glasses and contact free.
Enjoy your family beach vacation Robin!??
1. JM Lime Basil and Mandarin, which has been my scent of the week. Trying to thunk this bottle, and I’m getting close. Plus it’s been perfect for this humid weather we’ve been having.
2. I have no idea. I’m always in search of the perfect skin scent. I have lots on my to-try list but then get distracted by the newest shiny thing. You may know how it goes.
3. I wear perfume almost everyday.
4. Hmm…maybe just right? I don’t have a large collection, nor do I desire to have a large collection. Ideally I would love to have ~20-30 full bottles of true loves but my loves seem to always change so I am hesitant to buy full bottles. I have managed to thunk many samples and decants over the last few months and I’m happy about that.
6. Well, the funnest thing I did this summer was zip lining with my girls, hands down. In good books, I finished The Midnight Library this week. Other good news, madtownteen’s spirit seems to be renewed after 3 weeks at summer camp. She is talking, smiling and laughing more. I am so happy about this.☺️ Also, it’s my (our) anniversary today. Doesn’t seem like 28 years is possible, but time is funny like that.
Happy Anniversary! ?
Thanks pl67!
Happy anniversary!
Thanks ringthing!
Happy Anniversary!
Thanks hajusuuri!
Happy Anniversary! It’s great to hear that the zip lining was the highlight of your summer, I remember you being a bit apprehensive about it. Not that I blame you!
Thanks tulipani! Yes, I am not a fan of heights, but I felt very secure and the zipping across those lines was so much fun!
Happy anniversary!
Thanks cazaubon!
Happy Anniversary!
Thanks lillyjo!
Hope you will have a great ? celebration.
Thanks Aurora, we had a lovely evening out.?
Happy Anniversary! And great news on the teen. Wonderful what camp can do.
Thanks LizzieB! Yes, it’s amazing what 3 weeks immersed in the wilderness with her peers could do. It is exactly what she needed, it’s been a long 17 months for her.?
Happy Anniversary and happy your MTGTeen had that wonderful campy time!
Thanks MossyBerry! Me too.?
Thank you, and huge congrats on 28, that’s lovely!
Thanks Robin!
I’m rather late posting, but the sentiment remains…happy anniversary to you and your groom! ?
Thanks Nancyleandros!
Happy anniversary! We’re at 26 this week…hard to believe. So glad to hear about camp for Madtownteen.
Thanks ockeghem! Happy anniversary to you too!?
1) Today’s soup is Aftelier Cacao. Pretty little choco-coco number.
2) Next scent I would like to try. Amethyst Haze, which was featured
on here just a short time ago. It just looks like it could be
interesting. And the bottle looked cool.
3) I take breaks with my perfume; on my days off I (usually) don’t
wear any, I like to give my skin a break.
4) Probably on the big side. It is safe to say that my collection will
most likely outlive me.
5) My state is supposedly in a hot zone, with mask requirements, but
I haven’t heard about anything bad happening around here as of
yet.
6) Umm, there’s a tropical storm upgraded to a hurricane headed our
way? Will make for some interesting weather-watching at least.
Right now now it’s still calm and partly cloudy. (Really couldn’t
think of anything else).
Hope the hurricane missed you GateGirl!
Happy beach week, Robin! Enjoy.
1. What fragrance are you wearing today?
I started out in some Lanvin My Sin; post-shower I am wearing Shalimar Parfum Initial.
2. What’s the next fragrance you’d like to try?
I’d love to try Le Lion; I know it isn’t new but I’d like to get my hands on a sample. Not sure if I need a whole bottle as it’s been compared to Shalimar (which I have tons of, vintage anyways); although I’m sure there are huge differences.
3. Do you wear fragrance every day, or do you take breaks, or …?
I usually wear something every day. It’s unusual for me to take breaks. During the heat of summer if it was too hot, I’d skip it during the day because I was probably outside and wearing sunscreen; plus I didn’t want to have any bugs doing a fly-by near me to see what smells so good!
4. Is your current collection too small, too big or just right?
It’s probably just right, but I can always welcome a new friend to the fold. My hubby just shakes his head.
5. We haven’t done a pandemic poll since Memorial Day. If you’d like to share how your area is doing with Covid-19, or how the pandemic is affecting you lately, please do.
Cases are up in my local area; it’s taking a toll on the hospital workers – surgeries are being cancelled at the hospital to make room for covid cases instead. Provincially, we are masking-up again in stores but personally I’ve always worn a mask, even after being vaxxed.
6. Share something wonderful with us! It can be anything — the most fun thing you did this summer (or winter), something delicious you ate, your latest binge-worthy TV series, the last good book you read, any fabulous news you recently received — really, anything.
The most fun thing so far was the pontoon boat ride last weekend.
Thanks Gail! I haven’t tried Le Lion yet either.
1. SOTD is 28 La Pausa, but it’s fading now so I might spritz something else for the rest of the day.
2. There’s so much I want to try, new releases and lines I want to explore. Still haven’t gotten around to getting the Les Indemodables discovery set. Oooh, and I’m so tempted to explore more 4160 Tuesdays. They are currently having a 3 for 2 sale on their 15ml bottles, and travel sizes are my total weakness. I love Eau My Soul, but a few others I’ve tried haven’t been my cup of tea (Red Queen, Dark Queen, and Dark Heart of Old Havana). Any 4160 Tuesdays scents to recommend?
3. I wear fragrance almost everyday. I only deliberately skip it if I have a visit to the doctor or something unpleasant planned. I have really loved being able to wear whatever I want, and multiple scents a day during this WFH period.
4.. My collection is too large for me to ever ever finish! Most days it brings me much joy but it’s definitely coupled with some guilt. I really want to start decluttering some bottles I never wear.
5. Blegh !! I don’t even know anymore. Still being cautious by masking indoors but seems pointless now that my son is back at in-person school. I think I’m just so tired of second guessing everything. It’s hard to be cautious yet try to live as “normal” a life as possible, I can no longer gauge if I’m taking unnecessary risks.
6. The smokey air is definitely better today, hooray!! Also, an orchid that was slowly dying on me has sprouted new leaves. I suspected root rot and was just waiting for each leaf to slowly wither away and fall off. So I was thoroughly surprised to spot new growth.
#2
4160 is hit or miss for me, too, but I am definitely enjoying the travel sizes. “Clouds” in pretty much all its manifestation is wonderful (parfum, EDP, Both Sides of Clouds and one other which name I can’t remember ATM), Waft from the Loft.
Ooh, glad to hear you like those two, they are definitely on my short list! The only “Clouds” iteration available now is Clouds Illusion, I think.
I second Both Sides of Clouds and Waft from the Loft. I also enjoy Centrepiece, Captured by Candlelight, Fluffy Lemon Top, Orange Tree and Freeway.
Thanks for the recommendations! I have Centrepiece and Captured on my try list, and will check out the others. Fluffy Lemon Top sounds especially good.
Glad the air is healthier, and yay for the orchid.
A beach week sounds lovely Robin, enjoy!
1. Sotd is Oeillet Bengale
2. I am intrigued by Satori Iris Silk, probably in part because I’ve heard it’s a beautiful iris and in probably in part because I can’t get my hands on it. Ah, the allure!
3. I wear fragrance every day, multiple times a day. It’s rare that I find a fragrance that stays on me very long.
4. Like someone else mentioned, I have loved perfume for a long time but things really heated up during the pandemic and I made up for some lost collecting time. I’m watching Pixel’s PERFUME CABINET process/progress with great interest because I hope that organizing my collection with help me to make strategic perfume buying/swapping choices in the future.
5. As Springpansy mentioned, Washington state is not in a great state Covid-wise so I mask indoors and avoid crowds.
6. You all and fragrance continue to bring me great joy. And having just turned 60, I’m excited about managing my work schedule better so that I have more time to exercise and embark on new creative pursuits.
Thanks allo! And good luck getting your work schedule in order…more time to exercise and be creative sounds like a good idea.
Thank you! A work in progress ?
Robin, enjoy your beach vacation!
1. SOTD = Guerlain Rose Barbare ?. This was my purchase from Saks! I got the dark blue bottle and surprise surprise, I also got an extra 20 mLs as I believe that was the last of the “fountain” Rose Barbare. They’re not really fountains like what Caron had but they are silver vacuum-sealed canisters.
2. Zoologist Chipmunk
3. I wear fragrance everyday unless I forget, which is rare. When I go into the office, I have to think about dosage as I cannot use 8 sprays for every perfume.
4. Collection size – just right for me ?☺️?
5. I am back to masking everywhere other than when I meet up with family, including extended family. Coincidentally, on Thursday, the NJ DOH email mentioned a Docket App that can be used to prove vaccination. I haven’t downloaded it yet. Has anyone downloaded their state’s app?
6. Many good things, not the least of which is my Caturday post:
https://www.instagram.com/p/CS2BNQhLkD4/?utm_medium=copy_link
I am a bit behind on posts..where did you acquire the Guerlain colored bottle exactly? I thought these were only available in France?
Saks. I got a few too (enabled by hajusuuri!)
Wohoo on the extra 20mls!
I was so shocked, in a very good way!
Which Saks? They aren’t online guessing you gotta go in the store? I can’t afford it but I wanna seeeeee lol
The NYC flagship on 5th Ave, between 49th and 50th.
Lol on your number 4! ?
Thank you!
I do not even know if PA has such an app, but I should look.
1. Earlier was remnants of last night’s Bengale Rouge. Post-shower tonight it’s L’Ombre Fauve.
2. Papillon Spell 125 and Zoologist Chipmunk
3. Pretty much every day except when my sinuses are inflamed. I have chronic sinus inflammation, and it’s definitely been affecting me this week, likely due to the cooling temperatures.
4. Too big. *Sigh*
6. Today during my walk, I found a copy of The Golden Compass in a Little Free Library, so I brought it home with me. I’ve been thinking it’s time for me to finally read the series. Another wonderful thing was ordering enough last night from our favorite Thai restaurant to last for two dinners of leftovers. Eating some of that deliciousness momentarily!
Love your perfume choices! I miss good Thai food as well, it’s been ages.
Thanks! Have you by chance tried the 8.1 version of L’Ombre Fauve that PG replaced the original with a few years ago? I can’t seem to find the original anymore, and there I only have a couple ml left.
I haven’t tried the new version, I bought two bottles of the original and haven’t run out (having too many perfumes).
It is such a great book, I hope you love it!
1. Sotd is TF Violet Blonde.
2. Dame Perfumery has a new Gardenia perfume coming out in his JD line that I want to try.
3. I wear perfume everyday.
4. My collection size is just right numbers wise. I would like to get some more old favorites and pass along some I don’t wear.
5. So much has changed since March 2020. I no longer know the World I live in. I’ve always been a person that likes to live in the past. It seems so far away now. Sometimes I can’t find it.
6. I broke down and paid for someone to come and reseed my grass. ( I tried it once myself, it didn’t work) it looks pretty good now. I might even replace the bushes next year.
You smell elegant, Lillyjo, don’t be too downhearted, it will be wonderful to watch the grass grow, that’s something.
It feels good to drive up to my house and see grass instead of dirt. The only downside is I have to learn to back out better to not drive over it!?
#6 I am so not a DIY person I would do exactly what you did.
I would never survive in the wild. I’m ok with it. Lol
I hear you on #5.
It’s hard to put into words, how I feel. Glad you got me.
You smell wonderful; I think I already mentioned we are wondering if bushes do need to be replaced at some point. Ours are yews, and most are just balls of twigs with a thin green shell. I have kept them trimmed for 25 years, and they do renew somewhat after a severe prune, but at some point one wonders if they just age out!
You smell super good. Big yay for nice grass!
Atelier Sous le Toit de Paris. It’s cooler today and our humidity is much much lower.
Can’t think of anything I’m dying to try. But I do miss just wandering NYC to sniff.
I generally wear something everyday unless I just forget.
My collection is too big – I bought a bunch of stuff before I became more discerning on what I enjoy.
Like most places, COVID is rising a bit here (the #s are still low). Not surprising in a county with actual residents of around 30K but with summer visitors adding about 200K to that number. I live my life pretty much as normal. Only wear a mask if it is required, which is not many places.
Good news of late is next door duplexes selling…happy for our friend who is developer. And we should be getting our backyard sod soon! And we bought a collection of metal rustic goats for outside. Biggest one is named Giannis. LOL.
I am very late, but you smelled great today!
Had a really fun time at Wild Coast Perfumery yesterday, got to chat at length with the perfumer and sniff everything. I bought a bottle of Stoker perfume (the intense version), a patchouli soap and a wonderful bottle of gardenia & sandalwood scented body oil (which is not on their web site).
Today I’m testing a sample of Vanille Diorama. I’m getting mostly tonka though.
Glad it was a good excursion!
That sounds so fun. I will have to check them out.
Glad you had fun! Their website looks great and I’m highly tempted by their sample set. The fact that you can pick your own scents for it is a big plus.
1. Doing some cleaning in LADDM right now. Just got to vacuum the 2nd story and then I’m done cleaning. Post shower is probably going to be Epic or Lyric.
2. I have so many samples to try and don’t know exactly where to start.
3. I wear perfume everyday with no breaks.
4. My candle collection is too big and trying to use them all up and my perfume is starting to get to big and I am trying to use some of that up as well.
5. Ohio seems to have a moderate amount of Covid cases and I am wondering if the country is going to be shut down again due to the variants. People are really Looney Tunes at this point.
Smelling great for that housework!
You smelled fabulous for cleaning! Sometimes that’s just what’s required.
1. Wearing Corsica Furiosa, from making a decant for someone.
2. Spell 125 seems to be popular. Also, PG Spicematic, and any Anatole Lebreton.
3. I wear something almost every day.
4. I’ve been in a buying phase with perfume, so my collection is a little too big right now.
5. I’m so tired of the hysteria, the division, and the politicization of everything in this country. Stop the world, I want to get off.
6. Just got back from visiting family on the Delaware shore. A wonderful week of good food, beach time, and gin rummy.
I’m with you on no. 5!
Me too
I haven’t heard of Spicematic. I want it now though just because of the name!
Me too!
Right?! It’s a spin-off of Harmatan Noir, which I loved.
I’m in a bit of Ancient Resins this morning, hoping it will help with the bit of headache I woke up with after a family birthday gathering last evening. I love those people, but large gatherings are wearing.
My other poll answers:
2. Not that I need another iris to love, but I’ve been thinking about sampling some anyway. Maybe Splendiris or Heeley’s Iris de Nuit?
3. I wear fragrance nearly every day – I feel underdressed without it!
4. Well, um … probably too big, if I count all the yet-to-be-tested samples and bottles of things I seldom wear. As with many of you, however, that will not stop me from adding to it. ?
5. Gah. We’re back to indoor masking and I’m beginning to believe that covid is something we’re going to have to deal with for the rest of my natural existence, so I’m trying to just keep calm and carry on. Serenity now!
6. I baked Scottish shortbread for the first time in forever yesterday — so good! It’s a workout for one’s arm and shoulder, creaming all that butter, but worth it!
Please pass me a slice of that shortbread, and do you have a recipe? 😀
Here you go, and yes I do! Cream 2/3 cup of room-temperature butter, then gradually add 1/2 cup of confectioners sugar to that, beat until light, and set aside momentarily. Sift 1 and 1/2 cups flour, add 1/2 teaspoon salt, and sift again. Add the flour-salt mixture to the butter-sugar mixture, and combine well (the result will be sort of sandy in texture). Press firmly into a glass pie plate or 8 inch square baking dish, prick all over with a fork, and bake at 325 for 25 to 30 minutes. After baking, let it cool for 10 minutes or so and then use a sharp knife to cut it into whatever size pieces you want (if you let it cool completely, it will crumble rather than cut cleanly), and then let it cool completely before taking the pieces out of the pan.
Got it – thank you SG!
You’re most welcome!
Thank you for the recipe!
1. SOTD is Hermès Eau des Merveilles, definitely my summer favorite. Layered over BBW’s Italian Citrus Sun body products from a few years ago, I’m pretending I’m basking on the Mediterranean ❤️.
2. None at this time. I have a wide variety of fragrances already, nothing new really calls out to me at this time.
3. Yes, everyday; it’s part of my daily ritual.
4. I’d say, big enough. Only adding an occasional BUB every now and then.
5. Chicago’s indoor mask requirement went into effect on Friday (whether vaccinated or unvaccinated); all of Cook County (those of us who live in the suburbs) has same requirement effective tomorrow. State requirement that all schoolchildren must be masked. I am very concerned about the delta variant surge and the many unvaccinated people; my greatest fear is that a new variant not covered by current vaccines will replicate in the unvaccinated. Also concerned about the waning efficacy of the current vaccines and the increase in breakthrough cases. I will definitely opt for the booster at my 8-month mark. Still living cautiously, avoiding indoor events except for grocery shopping on senior days and never stopped wearing a mask indoors.
6. The best part of the summer has definitely been last weekend’s folkfest at White Oak Savanna in sw Wisconsin. Peace & love & community and gorgeous weather in beautiful surroundings on an organic sustainable farm. Restored barn (well ventilated, airy, high ceilings, fans, large open doorways) hosted talented musicians; fantastic local food served outdoors; hardworking owners ever-present, attending to everyone’s needs. Just a short drive from Madison, I highly recommend for anyone looking for a wedding venue or corporate event. (Not affiliated in any way, I just love everything about this place. ❤️). https://www.whiteoaksavanna.com
That festival sounds so wonderful!
Your folk fest sounds like heaven! I’m glad you were able to experience it and have the memory to cherish.
Hello everyone!! Happy peaceful Sunday!!
So we went to the crocs store today and went crazy there. My toddler has 2 pairs of new crocs: one for now, one size bigger. My dad got some, my mom got some and I got some:))
I finally treated myself to a new tea fragrance. I ordered a travel spray of the time. Love the name, love the colors of the enamel and LOVE that it has two, TWO – not one but two tea notes in it!! Blue tea and black tea. Plus chamomile. Love chamomile: Hello Bond no.9 Park Avenue!! I am so excited. Next will be Blue Tea from The Merchant of Venice.
Sounds like an awesome weekend!
Yes it was great. Later in the afternoon I went to the park with my daughter. She is 2 years old but follows around 8 year olds that are in a cheerleading team. My two year old repeats their dance moves and does a ton of flips while side by side with these girls. People at the park point fingers at my daughter and say: ” awww look at that baby, so ?”. I need to sign her up for some dance classes soon.
SotD = Chinatown.
Have a great vacation, Ms. Robin, and I will try to behave while you are gone!
SotD: Nahema. I have a bottle of the new release on the way; will save for the next splitmeet, in case anyone is curious.
I do wear perfume everyday, and often use my frequently-washed hands to test other scents that I see, hear about, or think about.
Well, my collection is making me feel overwhelmed. But I just take a deep, well-scented breath and soldier on.
I’m worried about the COVID variants for the vulnerable, but I and everyone in my family have come through all this without much illness. I mask up, am vaccinated, and will get a booster as they are available/recommended by my Dr.
My wonderful is my new tabby kitten. He is the sweetest, friendliest, happiest little kitty any cat lover could want. We lost our glamorous, drama-queen torbie-calico girl last January, and Mr. Mossy picked out this “basic grey” cat. I couldn’t be happier!
Yayyyy for new kitty!
Ha, do your best!
I’m late to the party, and am just sad watching all the bad weather news in Tennessee and New England. Here in Houston we’re very familiar with hurricanes and flooding, but I wouldn’t wish these problems on anyone.
Now, if it’s not too jarring, I’ll answer the questions for the weekend poll.
1. SOTD is MPG Secret Datura. I was looking for their amber on Friday and couldn’t find it, so I ordered a new bottle! That’s Ambre Precieux.
2. I want to try Zoologist Chipmunk and also go back to re-try the various new ones at Neiman Marcus from Memo and Amouage.
3. I wear perfume every day except when I’m feeling lousy, which I was for about a week after my recent shoulder surgery. Plus, all of my skin felt so itchy.
4. My collection is definitely too big. I’m in a major phase where I need to downsize in all respects including this one. I don’t want to be a hoarder especially at a time in my life when I’m thinking of moving into a smaller, one-story house. (Who knows where?)
5. As nancyleandros said, our Covid situation in Houston is very dire, and it’s worrisome. I’m back to being very restricted in where I go/when. I’ve been in a grocery store and they are now back to requiring masks. Mostly in my part of town, people comply. Of course there are worries about schools and public universities in our state. As I said the other day, I’m glad I’m retired.
6. Not a lot of great things to report, but I did finally read, and enjoyed, the third volume of Hilary Mantel’s Cromwell series. Since I had generated momentum on that, I’ve now begun reading the final volume (number 6!) in Knausgaard’s epic novel/memoir, My Struggle.
I want to try Chimpmunk as well. And the weather news (as well as other news) is indeed worrisome.
Ambre 114 today. It’s so cozy.
I wear scent almost every day unless I am frazzled and forget which happens every few weeks. I don’t always report but I always wear haha.
Super tired this weekend from so much travel lately. Still managed to work out twice and do some needed yard work at the new house so I’ll take that as a win.
Two workouts, yardwork and you are tired? Three wins ???
Thanks, friend!
Been living in Reeksville today…
Aesop Tacit: vetiver, Yuzu and basil. Starts out disorganized in some way, didn’t care for the basil with the yuzu, but settled fine after a few minutes. Still, don’t need, especially for the price.
Altaia Purple Land: it’s a no. Harsh in a strange way.
Au Pays Neroli Oud: interesting! I like OB + oud. This combo is new to my nose.
Balenciaga Skin: starts out sour and then degenerates into corner deli dill pickle territory. No.
Bottega Veneta Essence Aromatique: I guess it’s a cologne, but more complicated. I like the sandalwood in the base, but it’s not really moving me.
I thought the same thing when I tried the Balenciaga. It actually made me feel a little sick.
I may just trash it, to be honest. Don’t need to spread the misery around.
Woof! Nancy, I need a shower after reading those reviews. ?
The Balenciaga was the only one that really offended. With a name like Skin, I was really hoping for an easy to wear comfort scent.
I love reading your sniffing notes. I don’t know any of those fragrances but I can relate to the comments – “disorganized” and “harsh in a strange way.” I often struggle to describe my experience as in a recent attempt to articulate what it was that smelled generic about a well known perfumer’s (albeit inexpensive) perfume.
Thanks for saying that, allo. Stream of consciousness descriptions are sometimes all I can manage!
So late to this, this weekend. I’ve been finishing another mini-vacation with our small family, trying to substitute for not being able to be with the rest of our family across the border this week (damn, this is getting expensive…my father pays for the family vacations, but if we can’t get across the border I pay for the substitute).
1. SOTD is Calyx, when I got around to putting one on. Why? I had a bag of old samples out that I made for my year in Germany 6 years ago, going through the travel stuff. Most of those samples are past their expiration, including the Calyx, so I had to spray over from the actual bottle.
2. What’s the next fragrance you’d like to try? I’m hopelessly behind. Probably the original Zoologist Bat, which I can’t get until I can get across the border (I think I looked at the shipping to Canada and it was nuts for a sample).
3. Do you wear fragrance every day, or do you take breaks, or …? With COVID, I wear it almost every day. If I have to start going back into the office, I have to be more strategic as it’s a fragrance-free zone.
4. Is your current collection too small, too big or just right? Probably a bit too small. It fits in one drawer of my bathroom cabinet. I find I have a lot of the classics, but can’t go as far afield as some here.
5. COVID here: In the overall scheme of things, we’re doing well, with high vaccination percentages. But few are wearing masks because they think the vaccine is somehow magical and you can’t get the virus if you have it (NOT, for anyone who doesn’t get that). Bummed out to see the US using their excess vaccines for booster shots rather than to help the rest of the world. If you (and Canada!) could spare some for South Africa and Zambia (selfishly) and, you know, the REST OF THE WORLD, I would appreciate it.
6. Share something wonderful with us! I am so, so late to everything TV…just not a TV person. But we’ve started watching Borgen, and it’s just great, so far. (We watched it because it was recommended for those who love Babylon Berlin…if you haven’t seen Babylon Berlin, I recommend it highly.) Otherwise, I recommend learning more about our First Nations (or your own). We’ve learned a lot this summer and there is so much learning to do. Take the University of Alberta course to learn more about indigenous issues — that’s also another wonderful thing I’ve learned this year.
Very frustrating that U.S not sharing vaccines with rest of the world, I hear you..
Borgen is wonderful isn’t it?, I’ll look up Babylon Berlin now.
1. SOTD Bronze Goddess by Estee Lauder. Even though it’s still winter here in QLD Australia, the temperature in amping up so for me summer official starts now!
2. I really want to try anything from Vilhelm Parfumerie. Any suggestions as to which one in the line to try first?
3. Fragrance everyday! Spritz as I’m leaving the house and then again after a shower, before bed.
4. My current collection is quaint (30-ish bottles) but the dream is to have a whole cupboards worth which I’m working on.
5. QLD Australia is doing really well, I don’t think we have any covid cases atm but poor NSW and VIC are suffering, the vaccination rate is pretty low too. I’ve had my first vaccination (astrazeneca) and I’ve just fallen pregnant which my husband and I are thrilled about but which also means I can’t get my second shot (my GP stressed greatly that I should not get it). The Prime Minister has said in the future there’ll be exemptions for the fully vaccinated and I can’t help but think I’m going to be stuck at home, not allowed to travel interstate to see friends and for upcoming wedding etc etc. IDK maybe I’m over thinking it and should just stop stressing and wait to see how it all pans out.
6. Something wonderful to share would be obviously that I’m pregnant WOOHOO!!!!! This is our first too so very excited 🙂 🙂 🙂
Congratulations!
