Italian niche line Acqua di Parma has launched Bergamotto di Calabria La Spugnatura, a limited edition variation on 2010's Bergamotto di Calabria.
Bergamotto di Calabria La Spugnatura is a celebration of the Italian bergamot fields where the precious fruits are collected. Immersing yourself in this fragrance evokes the same joyful feeling as picking the 'golden fruit' directly from the tree, rubbing it gently in your hands and breathing in all its fragrant, natural sweetness. The ancient and exclusively artisanal extraction technique of the bergamot used, 'la spugnatura', allows for a more delicate collection of all the bergamot's different nuances and beautiful richness.
Bergamotto di Calabria La Spugnatura represents a glorification of the essence of bergamot. The softness and natural richness of the bergamot's essence are intensified and complemented by the other notes in the olfactory pyramid. The tones of mandarin and orange enhance its juicier and fruity accents, while grapefruit draws attention to the more bitter ones. Galbanum, with its green notes, together with the green and floral notes of geranium, highlights the lesser-known accents of bergamot.
Encased in an exquisite porcelain bottle and manually decorated with white and gold bergamot shapes, this limited edition represents Italian craftsmanship at its best.
Additional notes include cedar and vetiver.
Acqua di Parma Bergamotto di Calabria La Spugnatura is $240 for 100 ml Eau de Toilette, at Bloomingdales.

Not interested in adding 100 ml blind buys to the collection, but that bottle is seriously lemmable.
It’s really pretty…
That is a seriously beautiful bottle!
+1
And I could wear bergamot all day, any day.
Coincidentally I reached for the original version today – don’t think I’d worn it since last summer. I am now drinking Numi Earl Grey tea that I just bought earlier. I also slapped on some L’Occitane Shea Butter Bergamot Body Cream this morning. Jeez… I’m an addict.
