Spanish niche brand Carner Barcelona has launched the Bestial Collection, with three fragrances "that unlock the universe of animal fantasy in Barcelona’s Modernism": Bestium, Drakon (shown) and Felino.
Bestium ~ "Figures from medieval bestiaries, popular folklore and legends were a source of inspiration for Modernist architects…animals such as twin-headed eagles, horses, pegasus, bats, salamanders... Dark natural Oud Wood Palao holds this complex animalic fragrance. It is blended with Turkish and Bulgarian roses that disclose its full intensity and extreme character." Additional notes include saffron, bergamot, osmanthus, patchouli, frankincense and cistus.
Drakon ~ "More that 400 dragons all over Barcelona make us dream of fantastic tales! A sophisticated green freshness, embodying the skin of the dragon opens up the perfume. A freshness achieved through the combination of cypress, betel leaf and black pepper. As the dragon takes strength and unfolds its greatness the perfume fires up with an explosive oud wood from akigalawood and cypriol and fuses with a vivid refined leather accord." Additional notes include orange blossom, fir balsam and sandalwood.
Felino ~ "The lion becomes the expression of the entrepreneurial accomplishment. Soft yet spicy notes of nutmeg and hazelnut blend with a heart of jasmine and black leather. A small nuance of resinous sweetness of vanilla gives a slight crystallized taste and a dramatic overdose of Myrrh rounds up the opulent and memorable perfume." Additional notes include absinthe, papyrus, ylang ylang, clove, opoponax, styrax and civet accord.
Carner Barcelona Bestium, Drakon and Felino are available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum and in a coffret of miniatures.

Curiously, during the 1980s “Bestial!” was an exclamation similar to “Fantastic!” in parts of the Spanish-speaking world.
I don’t know if this usage persists anywhere today, or whether the word was ever used this way in Catalan.
Did not know that, interesting!
Perhaps It’s because I’ve grown tired of reading ad copy that seemingly repeats itself, but the descriptions of these have piqued my interest. That’s an accomplishment in and of itself!
🙂
As a crazy cat lady and someone who loves overdoses of myrrh, sign me up for a Felino sampling.
I am terribly behind on CB, but I would try these too!
Only Felino sounds good to me, but I like several CB scents.
These descriptions/concepts are sincerely fun.
