Thanks for hunting down that piece. The Auckland botanic gardens are wonderful. They are not in the centre of town but so worth the trip. Auckland has very mild winters ( no frosts) so it always seems exotic up there. I think we have a Magnolia Day down here around 25 August…something to look forward to.
Thanks Kanuka!
Curious to know what people think of the New Zealand accent. Does it sound British to u?
I can’t distinguish between Australia and New Zealand, although I know they are slightly different, but it doesn’t sound British. (Or probably there are some words where I would not be 100% sure, but for instance when he says “very happy and calming” — that does not sound British at all.
Thank you, Robin. There’s a magnolia garden in Old City, Philadelphia, but I don’t think of it at this time of year. I’ve been to the rose garden in Old City once, where they had some Old Garden Roses blooming at the time. I think the rose garden is on 2nd St.? Or was, years ago, anyway.
I’ve got to investigate whether Longwood Gardens and/or Winterthur have video or photos of these weeks in their respective gardens.
Longwood has little, I think there was one not great video.
Winterthur, as of last week, was still open for walking outdoors, for members anyway. I don’t know if they still are.
