Luxury body care and fragrance line Une Nuit Nomade has launched two fragrances in the new Une Nuit à Oman collection: Jardins de Misfah and Ambre Khandjar.
Jardins de Misfah ~ "In the village of Misfah Al Abreyeen, the Thousand and One Nights are at your fingertips. Imagine flowery alleyways, bird songs, the beauty of multicolored doors, and the joyful laughter of water flowing from terrace to terrace through an ingenious irrigation network (falajs). [...] Pomegranates, peaches, figs, and apricots growing abundantly in the midst of the mountain aridity, with marvelous palm trees as far as the eye can see, their branches heavy with the weight of dates. One cannot forget the words of Amin Maalouf : “A bite of date not only contains flesh that nourishes your body, but the sweetness, scent and color that nourish your spirit” Extract from “Les Jardins de Lumière” ‘Jardins de Misfah’ is an olfactory pause, a moment suspended in time, a harmony of scents where the fresh whisper of flower petals fuses with an accord of creamy dates, honey and sweet water." With cardamom, nutmeg, date, rose, saffron and almond.
Ambre Khandjar ~ "The souq of Muttrah is found in the heart of the oldest city in the Middle East, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman, Muscat. Called the "dark market", this souk is bathed in a diffuse light that invites mystery. It is the perfect place to spend a small fortune for a legendary Khandjar. The Khandjar is a dagger bent in the shape of a J, the product of craftsmanship that is passed from father to son. It is the identity, pride and heritage of Oman. [...] The most beautiful are made from silver (often engraved with symbols describing the movement of the sun across the sky) and have a sculpted wooden hilt. The use of silver imparts the virtues of a talisman – luck, protection from evil. Wearing a Khandjar is like carrying a piece of the Omani soul. Our fragrance 'Ambre Khandjar' is a tribute to the power of tradition. It is a powerful oriental amber with modern facets and a lingering of leather and vanilla that make it timeless, warm and addictive." With mandarin, plum, cistus labdanum, vanilla, orris, ylang ylang, sandalwood, patchouli and benzoin.
Une Nuit Nomade Jardins de Misfah and Ambre Khandjar were developed by perfumer Jérôme Di Marino, and are available in 25, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Wow, for once these effusive descriptions are actually evocative and tempting! Plus I’m in awe of those roses in the picture!
No kidding! I’m swooning over that amber one…?
Those roses really are gorgeous.
Khandjars continue to one of the main causes of rhino horn poaching. Okay, got that off my chest.
Really? Is the handle rhino horn, specifically? Or wood? I guess what I mean, is it only a khandjar if rhino horn is part of the fabrication?
The handles are carved from rhino or elephant ivory.
Yeah, they skipped over that part.
Perhaps that is why they specified wood and silver?
