In case you don't want to shell out for the Astier de Villatte Setsuko kitty incense burner, here's a (relative) bargain alternative: Shoyeido's Kitten incense burner, which you can use with cones or sticks — the smoke comes out of the ears. "Our beatific Kitten incense holder provides quiet companionship for your next Shoyeido incense excursion." $30 at Shoyeido.

so cute! =^..^=
I watched a documentary called Cat Heaven Island last night.
Japanese cats rule!
Oh, that looks so interesting…I had never heard of the island.
I well remember, and still yearn for, the Setsuko kitty incense burner. I’d be all over the Shoyedo kitty incense burner, except I am pretty sure the smoke comes out of its ears, not mouth.
For the nonce I will stick to my pinon incense burner in the shape of a teepee (log cabins also available).
I still yearn for it too, LOL…you are wise to stick to the pinon burner.
I love that it comes out the ears!!
Very cute, but listed as “sold out” on the website you linked to.
Shoot, it’s more at Amazon:

Adorable! I haven’t burned incense for a couple of years now, though. We got new smoke detectors, and incense (among other things) will set them off.
Wow — even if you’re burning the incense in another room?
Yep!
