In case anyone is still looking for the right holiday candle...here is this year's Forêt D’or from Annick Goutal (I do think last year's was nicer, though, and maybe also 2017). "Our beloved holiday scent in a limited edition package. Golden Wood. Une Forêt D’or conjures up that moment after a walk in the forest and then decorating your home with pine branches, fresh oranges and mandarins." $95 for 300g, or if you'd prefer the plainer green fluted glass (as shown here) it's $72 for 185g. The US site also shows a diffuser, but not the room spray (which used to be lovely, and which appears to still be available in some markets).

I have to stop myself from buying candles since I rarely burn them. Gotta get using up the ones I have around the house! Am a sucker for holiday ones though.
I have to *make* myself buy a candle every so often. I don’t like to buy them because I hate it when they turn out to be disappointing.
Bet it’s very nice, but agree years past versions were more attractive.
The Met Store has a Mondrian candle that’s less expensive than most of the ones we lust after around here, and it’s pretty appealing~

It’s a tea scent though, so not strictly holidayish.
Oh, I like that! And love it when candles come with lids.
Oh, that 2017 version is beautiful!
I am partial to 2018, but 2017 was lovely.
