I have yet to fall hard for a single Aerin fragrance, and I have yet to smell the latest, Limone di Sicilia, but I'm still tempted by the body cream, because a heavily fragranced lemon cream would be a handy thing, and generally speaking, Estée Lauder heavily scents their body products. (The Bronze Goddess version lasts longer on skin, and has more sillage, than the spray fragrance.) 190 ml of the Limone di Sicilia cream, unfortunately, is $90, which is more than I will spend in any case. But if anyone has tried this, do comment! Maybe I'll get lucky and find it on sale.

Too much for me also. But it would be nice as a base layer.
Exactly.
A *fantastic* lemon body cream that won’t break the bank but feels ridiculously indulgent? C.E. Bigelow’s Lemon Body Cream, 8 oz for $19.50. Trust me. It’s really good. It’s been a bathroom staple for years!
I have tried that one — good call! But I’ve never owned it and don’t remember if it is very long lasting? The EL Bronze Goddess is really amazing, you don’t need any perfume with it at all.
The scent is pretty long-lasting and in high summer, you might get away with wearing it on its own but I typically top it off with a good citrus scent like Goutal’s Hadrien edp or the citrus-tea of Carthusia’s Mediterraneo.
Not what you’re asking for, but Jo Malone Basil & Neroli Body Creme also has enough scent to act as a perfume.
Plus that one is almost as expensive as this! (Actually, might cost more since the jar is smaller. Too lazy to figure out the math.)
I’ve been wearing the lemon body cream, lemon lotion and lemon perfume a *lot* this summer. I got them in December using coupons and discounts, and paid far less than the regular price for all three items.
Another excellent lemon cream is JR Watkins lotion – smells like key lime pie!
Thanks Yasmina! I should get a bottle of that.
Oh my word, I don’t think I’ve ever seen J R Watkins’ products mentioned here, or indeed anywhere else online. When we were visiting our friends near The Woodlands, Texas recently I spotted their lemon hand cream in the local HEB supermarket, so bought a couple of tubes for two particular friends who both adore a good hand cream, & they both absolutely loved it! Our ‘trip gifts’ to each other have to be around the GBP 5.00 mark, & I couldn’t believe how gorgeous it smelled & how inexpensive it was. A tube of this & some Trader Joe’s (since I discovered TJ’s a couple of visits ago I am a massive fan!) foodie bits & pieces for each of them proved ideal. Of course I should have bought a third tube for myself…!
I really like the JR watkins line – their coconut body cream is also nice
I bought a half-price Aerin shower gel last weekend at the Cosmetics Company, which I think is usually located in outlet malls. On occasion their sales are even better, like 70-75% off.
Ah! Then maybe this will get marked down too.
Patience, perhaps, will reward us.
I feel like I should come up with a mathy-looking equation to calculate how much a perfume or bath product *should* cost. One part would be >BBW, which represents “costing more than Bath & Body Works”.
That’s where I got the C.O. Bigelow products mentioned above, Bath & Body Works. I usually get products from there on sale, though, like their fairly frequent “buy two, get one free” or “buy one, get one half off” deals, or just seasonal sales. Also, knowing someone who gets many of the coupons helped in December. 🙂
