Ralph Lauren has launched Beyond Romance, a new flanker to 1998's Romance.
Beyond Romance is a new adventure in Romance: mysterious, daring and wild. The fragrance that goes beyond with a seductive blend of fresh rose centifolia and luscious black vanilla. Beyond Romance turns the ordinary into the extraordinary.
"A fragrance can make you feel alive and that's what Beyond Romance is about, giving the sensation to live life fully. I wanted to go beyond the traditional floral archetype to give every woman a strong and individual aura." - Master Perfumer Honorine Blanc
Additional notes include raspberry coulis, mandarin, bergamot, jasmine, lily of the valley, cashmeran and white musks.
Ralph Lauren Beyond Romance is available now at Macy's, $98 for 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Well, that looks like the ultimate pink bottle, doesn’t it? And while the Romance scents are not bad, but generally not my cup of tea, the notes for this one sound promising, as far as modern style fragrances go – nothing in there makes me go eek – ugh! I will sniff this the next time I am by somewhere that carries it.
Hoping it is vanilla heavy, you know what I mean?
It is sad but true that I can no longer remember what Romance smells like, although I think (?maybe?) I’d still recognize Lauren if I smelled it on the street. And have not tried the flankers. So have literally no opinion 🙂
I wore Lauren for a while, but it made me sneeze. The Romance line are of that “smells ok, just like everything else” ilk. The notes of this new one sound interesting to me, but I bet they are blended into non-descriptness, as well. A shame to be so jaded, but there it is. 🙂
