A shout out to Diptyque Tam Dao for making my recent long car trips less stressful, and another shout out for the elephant design on the bar soap. "This perfumed soap is composed of a vegetable base enriched with sweet almond oil. Its delicate foam reveals the woody and creamy notes of Tam Dao; a memory of the sacred sandalwood forests of Indochina." $30 (ouch!) for 150g at Beautyhabit, where you'll also find the Tam Dao Shower Balm, $42 (ouch again!) for 200 ml.

For a similar but, ahem, less spendy option, I’m partial to Indigo Wild’s Sandalwood-Citrus Zum soap.
I’m going to have to look for this at my WF. Thanks!
Thank you holyneroli. I seem to be one of the few that don’t love their Frankincense & Myrrh fragrance, but maybe I would like the Sandalwood & Citrus.
I’m not a big fan of their Frankincense & Myrrh line either.
Ah, thank you, that helps.
I was just looking at this soap yesterday. Want!
Seriously, the Philosykos soap is so fantastic, so I would have high hopes for this one. But not planning to pay full price for it, that is for sure.
As someone who has bought very fancy soap and used it up no judgements.
BUT! Tauer soaps are beautifully perfumed and are $15.
Yes they are! And Nesti Dante is even less, and I love Nesti Dante, and the Villages & Monasteries one is at least *close* to Tam Dao, sorta kinda. It’s a very meditative scent at any rate.
I wonder how it compares to Mysore soap
Tam Dao does not smell like straight up sandalwood to me…
