Seduced — almost — once again by the combination of cute old-school packaging and a reasonable price. Panier Des Sens Rose Geranium Eau de Toilette: "Heady and tangy, the leaf of the Mediterranean flower joyfully expresses light and luminous top notes. Geranium absolute harmonizes with the delicate freshness of notes of rose and peony, sublimated on a background of enticing and bewitching hints of white musk. An intense powdery floral sillage married to the green facet of geranium." $35 for 50 ml, also available in Orange Blossom and Precious Jasmine, at Beautyhabit. There is also a Rose Geranium travel set at the Panier des Sens website, with 50 ml each of Shower gel and Body lotion, plus a 30 ml Hand cream and a 3.5 ml sample of the Eau de Toilette, in a travel pouch decorated much like the canister shown above, on mark down for $16.10.

I have the Rose Geranium liquid soap by my kitchen sink. It really is nice ! My sister was over one day and she washed her hands at the sink, smelled her hands and said “this smells so good!”
It is so inexpensive, I gave her the bottle of matching perfume as a “just because” gift a few days later.
Oh yay, so glad to hear it.
The packaging is cute. It sounds like something I’d like. I have mixed feelings about the scents of various geraniums. (By which I mean pelargoniums, which come from southern Africa. Can you tell I’ve been lectured about this?)
So the geranium gives a green note, and then there are actual roses that give a rose note? Not what I think of when I think “rose geranium.” There are several sorts of scented-leaf geraniums that are labeled as having some sort of rose scent. For me, it requires a bit of use of imagination for some of those, but that’s traditionally its own thing, as in certain scented geraniums being used in fragrances and for flavoring jelly and such. Rose geranium jelly is quite nice, I think. Rober’s Lemon Rose has a fantastic scent, and so does the purely lemon-scented P. crispum. The one with apple-scented leaves makes a nice jelly, too.
But from what I understand, rose geranium is (or was) used more as a cheaper alternative to actual roses.
tl;dr — sounds like it’s nicely scented, but I’m stuck in my literal-mindedness by the description.
I love the smell of rose-scented geraniums, but you’re right that’s not what they appear to be talking about in the description…but also you’re right that there’s no sense in getting literal about it. If it smells anything like a rose-scented geranium I would probably like it 🙂
these lemming articles are dangerous. I just had to go to amazon and ordered some to try… 🙂 Did the same thing with shampoo earlier in the year
And I had conveniently forgotten that these were even on Amazon, although of course they are.
Once got a great deal on their Red Thyme perfume–it was totally meh. Lived on the back of our downstairs toilet cistern until the kitten knocked it onto the tile floor. Not to worry. The scent lasted only about 5 minutes after I cleared the broken glass. The packaging was lovely however!
