Don’t get this at all – the name translates as ‘colour of snow’, so where does the description ‘lushness of a warm summer’s night’ come in?!
The regular fragrance (I don’t know about the gel) is an absolute powder bomb, so beats me!
When the perfume was first released, there was a discussion along these lines. Somebody (I don’t recall who) commented that “teint” in French means (or can mean) “complexion”, so the translation of the name is actually “snow-white complexion”, referring to the pale, milky white skin that was fashionable a century or so ago. No doubt, many of the pale complexions were produced with the help of much white powder.
Thank you!
