I need a good vetiver shower gel. This one likely costs more than I'm going to spend, but it's tempting. From niche line Escentric Molecules, Escentric 03 body wash: "....a gentle, fragrance-rich formula that leaves the skin feeling vibrant and fresh. Paraben- and sulfate-free, this wash features notes of vetiveryl acetate, a smooth and woody vetiver molecule with a grapefruit accent, together with fresh lime peel, ginger, green peppercorn, and musk." $40 for 200 ml at Barneys.

Robin, have you tried the Encre Noire shower gel? I noticed it on one of the discount sites and was a little tempted to try it.
I have not. It seems to me I’ve heard something about it, but of course at the moment I can’t think of what!
Consider me lemminged!
I think they had shower gels for ages but the newer packaging is quite spiffy.
Fragonard has an extremely acceptable Vetiver edt and I am about to purchase their shower gel for $16… put in code JUNE18 for a discount!
Ah, interesting!
Tempting (I like Escentric 03), but yeah, $40 is pricey.
L’Erbolario Black Juniper/Ginepro Nero ‘Shower Shampoo’, despite its name, smells very much of vetiver to me. Some reviewers on Fragrantica even describe this scent as Terre de’Hermes clone. I have only smelled it from the bottle yet, but I am going to try it in the shower today or tomorrow, and if you are interested, I’ll report how vetiver-y it smells in the shower.
I do not understand why it is so expensive in the USA though. $22.60 for 250 ml? I bought mine for about $13…
Oh, please do report back!
They used to have a small shop in a mall near me, but it closed ages ago.
So I tried it in the shower (twice actually). The vetiver note is not as strong as I hoped, but it’s noticeable. I would describe the scent in the shower as a mixture of vetiver, juniper, citrus and spices (peppery). The scent is a bit subdued and slightly soapy. I like it though I do not love it. In my opinion it’s more suitable for spring/fall shower, although it is quite pleasant in summer, too. It’s just that I prefer zestier, stronger, cooler scents for showering in the summer heat. A nice shower gel, but not a vetiver bomb.
Another great lemming this week! I’ve wanted to try several. This shower gel sounds nice, and now I’m lemming many of the alternative suggestions too.
And, gosh, I’m reminded the Escentric sample set has been on my wish list forever.
It’s a fun line and worth trying!
The Yves Rocher Haitian Vetiver shower gel is both refreshing and cheap.
Thanks jjlook!
