Penhaligon’s has launched two new additions to their Portraits collection: The Changing Constance and The Blazing Mister Sam.
The Changing Constance ~ "From the Penhaligon's Portrait collection, The Changing Constance Eau de Parfum was made for the modern woman. Truly captivating, the fragrance opens with notes of pimento and cardamom before revealing a salted caramel heart and woody floral harmonies." Additional notes include cashmeran, tobacco and vanilla.
The Blazing Mister Sam ~ "From the Penhaligon's Portrait collection, The Blazing Mister Sam Eau de Parfum is inspired by an American aboard who lives fast, spends freely and speaks loudly. Truly captivating, the fragrance opens with notes of cardamom and cinnamon before revealing a spicy heart and woody floral harmonies." Additional notes include cumin, saffron, black pepper, vanilla, patchouli, cedar and tobacco.
Penhaligon’s The Changing Constance and The Blazing Mister Sam can be found now at Harrods, £200 each for 75 ml Eau de Parfum.

IMHO, the cutesy names and stories have run their course. I couldn’t even get the name of what I have straight – I have Clandestine Clara which will always start off as Clairevoyant Claire. In any case, I like the notes listed for Constance and will give it a sniff when a tester is available.
Could not agree more about the whole concept.
I’ve had a chance to sample their existing range in NYC end of last year and based off the top notes, I found it highly underwhelming both composition and quality wise. Hopefully these will be better.
I meant to say first impression as I did keep some of the test strips to see how they dry down (they progressively got worse unfortunately)
After all these years I have yet to be overwhelmed by a Penhaligon’s, other than by Elixir which I wish I’d bought when it was still out. But I know lots of people love them!

Uh am I the only one who thinks this is not really charming?
I’d rather wait for the Electrical Mister Glen, inspired by a technical student, that welds motherboards, spends economically and beats online monsters. 😛
otherwise tried a few of their line and were nice enough but not quite into the price point. i think that price range beats Frederic Malle …
I have a feeling it’s meant to be “abroad”, not that really changes much. Agree these are not where I’d invest my money!
Ooof. I agree with hajusuuri; the concept for these is getting wearing very thin, and the clunky ‘olde-worlde’ style of writing is frankly grating. Get a better copywriter, Penhaligon’s!
I just wish they’d stop putting out this line – & the price is ridiculous! Go back to your roots!
