Haha, I don’t think “theine” is an English word, so I’m amused that they translated it to that. I still remember the first time I asked if a tea had “caféine” in it when I was living in France. “Uh…of course not. This is tea,” came the bemused response. This from a group of chemists, who all acknowledged that caféine and théine were the same compound.
Argh — but I think I must have taken the text from the UK Kusmi site? I should go check but I’m too lazy!
It is an English word, Collins lists it, but rare in British English and I think even rarer in US English.
In Dutch it’s very commonly used to describe tea’s caffeine, and I guess in French it’s the same.
