Whenever I see the word hibiscus, I want to laugh out loud. A couple-worker once told me that her former manager had knee surgery to repair her hibiscus. I scrunched my face and she wanted to know what’s wrong. I gently told her that hibiscus is a plant and that she meant to say meniscus!
Ha, that is a good one!
I’ve spent much time in the tropics, hibiscus have no scent, at least not one that humans can detect. Now if they are talking hibiscus tea they should say that, but that is a completely different creature. Stick your nose into any hibiscus you come across, no smell in 99% of them.
Some varieties are fragrant, including some of the cold-hardy varieties that are native to portions of North America.
