$29 for 15 ml is more than I'll pay for lip balm, but this Sandalwood & Ginger number from Bali Balm does sound interesting: "Infused with the sweet, earthy aromas of sandalwood and ginger, this naturally nourishing balm pampers and protects lips. Sandalwood is highly sought after for its ability to help improve skin imperfections, while ginger is known for its healing and stimulating properties."

Sounds lovely. Since it’s snowing right now, I’m automatically drawn to anything with Bali in the name.
Yes — then look at the Bergamot & Grapefruit one too! Bali sounds just about perfect right now.
How important is scent to a lip balm? I could understand taste, but scent?
Well, they’re pretty intertwined.
Interesting. I know you shouldn’t apply pure essential oils on your skin, but for the sake or science and because it smells so good, I have done just that with sandalwood oil from Mysore to the Pacific Islands and it really has a nice, skin softening feel to it. Remarkable enough that I regret the fact it smells too strong to apply all over.
I mix it with plain lotion…
My bottle of Vintner’s Daughter (I know, I know) has a blend of low dose essential oils, including sandalwood. In tiny doses sandalwood can have softening and anti-microbial properties. And ginger could is very stimulating- so perhaps a plumping effect on the lips?
Really? (Head tilts to the left, ears perk up…) So… are you on your first bottle of VD (hmmm–that doesn’t sound right!) or a back up bottle? My theory about Vinter’s (okay that is better) is that I am going to wait and see how many folks are on to their third bottle—to get an idea of just how good it is.
I am on my first bottle of VD (HA! I am 12!) and it has only been a week and a half. IT’S SO PRICEY, MY GAWD. Pricier than prescription tretinion (Retin-A/Refissa) but I must confess I was under the spell when trying it at LuckyScent (they sell very luxurious skin and bath products as well) so I bit the bullet!
So far: Very softening, easy to wear under my tinted moisturizer and at night. Do not see any difference with my acne marks; I do see some slight difference with my melasma around my mouth ( but I also use a Vitamin C serum, C Firma, during the day as well.)
They have a “cinnamon and burnt orange” that sounds delightful too.
