Penhaligon’s has launched a new trio of fragrances named for London neighborhoods: Belgravia Chypre, Kensington Amber and Marylebone Wood.
Belgravia Chypre ~ "Inspired by the elegant and historical Belgravia in West London, perched on the edge of Buckingham Palace gardens and characterised by the cream Stucco-fronted villas and embassies, Belgravia Chypre from Penhaligon's epitomises the opulent area. Rich and sophisticated, this Eau de Parfum delivers key notes of bergamot, oak moss and patchouli, with a surprising inflection of raspberry, pink pepper and rose."
Kensington Amber ~ "Inspired by the rich history of Kensington in West London, the Kensington Amber Eau de Parfum from Penhaligon's is designed to evoke memories of strolling around the elegant villa-lined streets and charming public squares. Exuding notes of amber - credited as being simultaneously powerful and well-mannered - the warmth and exotic cinnamon summons images of the Victorian era of expansion and exploration, while vanilla brings nostalgic comfort."
Marylebone Wood ~ "A company imbued with regal history, Penhaligon's lends decades of perfumery expertise to the Marylebone Wood Eau de Parfum. Intimate with characterful elegance, this unisex fragrance is inspired by and named after the area of West London rich with historical significance- the home to Sherlock Holmes and the Wallace Collection. The woody scent carries notes of dry smoky sandalwood, vetiver and patchouli for a heady and subtly-sensual aroma."
Penhaligon’s Belgravia Chypre, Kensington Amber and Marylebone Wood can be found now at Harrods, £137 each for 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

These sounds very interesting indeed…and the bottles drawings are very chic 🙂
I like the drawings too! I have a feeling these will be UK only so I will never see them.
They don’t sound bad. I would try that chypre.
I doubt I’d pay £137 for it, but I’d try it too 😉
I too love the drawings, and Marleybone Wood is particularly appealing to me. There haven’t been a ton of Penhaligon’s perfumes that work for me, though.
No, same here.
I live in Marylebone , and there’s not much wood here!
They should have gone a bit further up the road and called it Regents Park
I was wondering when some London company would take a page from Bond No. 9’s book and start launching a farrago of scents based on neighbourhoods. I always figured it would be Ormonde Jayne, but Penhaligon’s makes sense, too.
Oh my, have they been listening to former and /or long-time devotees & are going to have output other than those daft stoppers & equally daft faux historical/heritage sorts of descriptions? We can but hope, although I see the prices are in keeping with their newer choices!
I hope they come out with a holiday trio of 10 mLs each in a keepsake box.
Apparently no one knew that Penahligon’s also has a special series on offer but only as bespoke fragrances:
CHYPRE IRIS
AMBER ROSE
AMBER OUD
and
ORIENTAL ROSE
Has anyone seen the flacons yet?
