French niche line Juliette Has A Gun has launched Sunny Side Up, a new fragrance.
New from Juliette Has a Gun, Sunny Side Up Eau De Parfum is a soft woody floral, blended with sandalwood, jasmine and ambrette. "The idea was to propose something that inspires happy and positive feelings. I started with sandalwood essence, a woody note with unctuous tonalities. I simply accentuated it with some musks, and a jasmine and coconut milk facet", says perfumer Romano Ricci.
Like a happy therapy, the fragrance recalls those moments of freedom, insouciance and letting go – those warm balmy days when the sun never seems to set and time is suspended.
The notes include amyris, sandalwood, jasmine, lactone, vanilla, iris, ambrette, Iso E super and salicylate.
Juliette Has A Gun Sunny Side Up is available now at Harvey Nichols in the UK, in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Fake sandalwood is one of my least favourites, but wouldn’t we all want something in our arsenal that was “happy therapy?”
But this fake sandalwood has “unctuous tonalities.” 😉
And yes, I agree – would love a happy therapy fragrance. But is this the one? We’ll have to try it.
Yes, and almost forgot about Smiley, which promised pretty much the same thing:

The coconut milk and jasmine additions sound nice to me!
Not my favorite brand, but it does sound nice to me too.
If you look at the bottle from directly above, will it resemble a sunny side up egg?
Ha! I think it might!
I sure wouldn’t buy it otherwise.
Wow, what a dichotomy between Juliette Has a Gun and Sunny Side Up. Does not compute.
So very true!
I finally got to try it today ! It lives up to the reviews and the “happiness therapy” theme. It’s really like a sweet hug, this reminiscing smell of summer that you really need when it’s cold and raining. It starts out with a milky sandalwood headnote, and then evolves into a warm soft smell of musk and coconut. Coconut can be quite heavy but this one doesn’t really last too much, maybe because of the jasmine and iris. It has a nice sillage and evolves into a soft and comfortable smell, neither too sweet nor heavy.
It is indeed quite surprising coming from Juliette Has A Gun, but i love it anyways.
